I responed to a email from WritersLife.org for a free writing toolkit to help me with my writing. All I had to do was pay for the shipping and hadling. I spoke with the Debit Card services that I have my monthy income on as I am semi retired. They informed me that Platinum Millenium Publications had withdrawn $67.73 offof my card 2 times within 5 to 7 minutes around 10:30 PM on 10/4/17 They had the time as well as transaction numbers. They gave me the phone number for Platinum Millenium Publications. When I called the phone number 1-866-752-9968 When I called the phone number the person who answered the phone answered it WritersLife.org.

The woman explained to me that I was enrolled in one of their writing programs. I told her that all I had done was order a writers toolkit. She tried to tell me that they were unsuccessful in nwithdrawing $67.73 once. Althogh I have the proof that it was withdrawn twice. The point is 1. I had no idea who Platinum Millennium Publications was. 2. I never gave anyone to take the money from my account. No one.

It was a violation of my privacy. Loss of trust as well as being inconvienienced by being shorted of $135.46 of a small amount of money that I get being semi retired and being on a fixed income. I found out that Platinum Millenium and Writerslife.org are one in the same after chatting online with a Vice President of The BBB. He checked it out after me telling him of my suspicions. He also suggested that I file a complaint. I feel that it is very important to put this out there in all forms to warn others of this. O ther people who are trying to have a carre in writing of shady pubishere.

BE AWARE! WRITER'S LIFE IS A RIPOFF!

I order the FREE Writing Kit and paid 99 cent shippiing. This is offered at Writer's Life .org or writerslife.org, and then I signed up for the upsell deluxe "kit" for $7.95. Apparently there was some video involved. I don't even remember seeing any video. I was charged $.99 and another $7.95.

Then 2 weeks later a strange charge for $19.93 showed on my bank card. I called 866-752-9968 and reached someone who barely spoke English. She said it was a monthly membership and that somewhere in the video I didn't watch it said towards the end that if I didn't cancel in 14 days, I would be rolled into the monthly program. I told her to cancel it, and she said she would send an email confirming the cancellation. If and when I receive that email, I will contact my bank to try to get my $19.93back.

This is the kind of junk marketing that caused the FTC to put out regulations against continuity marketing, as this is called. Until about a year ago, there were way too many people ripping people off buy not fully disclosing that they would repeatedly bill your credit card for months and months until you noticed. The new FTC regulations supposedly require FULL DISCLOSURE be made on a website before someone agrees to be continuously billed, thus the name continuity marketing. After I report this to my bank, I will also report it to the FTC. This kind of scam is not supposed to be legal any more

The only time I got stuck in one of these before I was able to get the current month's charge refunded, but my bank would not refund the previous charges because they said I had to notify them almost immediately if I wanted to dispute a charge.

My only advice, which I did not follow, if is you are ever tempted to sign up for anything like this, use some kind of gift card or rebate card so that your losses are at least limited to the amount on the card. No that these crooks have my bank debit card number, I may have to get it changed. That was the only way to stop the previous crook from billing me.

Who?

I almost signed up, but something looked off.

And the further I looked, the more - and the less I found.

This "program" is supposed to have all sorts of secrets to get paid big money. So, who are their alumni? Where are the happy satisfied customers? I gave them my email, and was inundated with ShammWow style messages several times a day. And there seems to be a numbers problem. Every offer started out "We started out with 300 slots, but we're down to JUST 17 SPACES!! HURRY!! SIGN NOW!!"

Which continued for 7 to 10 days.

"HURRY!! BUY NOW!!"

"WE HAD A LAST MINUTE CANCELLATION, YOU CAN SIGN UP NOW!!! HURRY!!"

But who are these people?

What's the rush, when it's a video webinar?

There is no time crunch, except to get your credit card.

When something sound too good to be true, it usually is.

TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS

DO NOT DO THIS! IT IS THE OLD BAIT AND SWITCH! THEY LURE YOU IN WITH A LOW COST OFFER AND THEN, NOT ONLY SEND YOU TO PLACES THAT YOU COULD HAVE JUST DOWNLOADED THE INFO YOURSELF FOR FREE, THEY CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD AGAIN WITH A MUCH HIGHER AMOUNT SOON AFTER THAT FOR "MEMBERSHIP" THAT IS A BUNCH OF CRAP!!! Whoever's company this is (I am finding out right now so I can bring legal action against them) is just a lazy POS and needs to get a real job. Bad Karma is going to be an understatement for this place when I am done.

Scam!!!

Like everyone else.here I.made the mistake of ordering a writer's kit back in July. This past weekend, I was charged $67.73 for a "membership" I did not sign up for. I contacted them via phone and was told that they would start a.refund but it would take 7-10 days. I asked for confirmation via email. Nothing. I called back. This time they hung up on me. I contacted th NC Attorney General, Josh Stein. I am also filing a complaint with the FCC. I suggest everyone do the same.
