Hired Whatchaneed Services based on a friend referral . John Sparkman of Whatchaneed Services provided estimates based on the home improvements we needed done to our house.
He requested a 50% deposit up front - which we gave him ( 1160.00) - 2 weeks into the job he demanded an additional 500.00 - we obliged. But was very uncomfortable doing so - his behavior was a quite unethical and very unprofessional. Although he had only completed about $300.00 work of the 1160.00 already given to him.
While I know this is totally our fault for not putting an end to to this right away- I want everyone to know NOT to hire on a referral only basis.
Check to make sure it is an actual company, licensed, insured- which Whatchaneed Services is NONE of the above .
Some jobs were actually completed , others were left half on done .
After his receiving of the additional 500.00- his attendance and amount of time working on our home started to dwindle- excuse after excuse came up , alot of his personal issues became our problem . Medical, financial, legal issues were now a constance excuse of why he could not show up.
Finally we told him that it did not seem that he was capable personally or professionally to finish the job due to his issues and we should sever ties, I would need to be reimbursed for the remainder of the work that was not completed. est $910.00
He them became very hostile and aggitated and stated he would be by to collect his tools with the police- he did so , making a scene and told us to take him to court- the rest is a civil matter he stated .
Whatchaneed services cannot submit bids on jobs as a company , being unlicensed and not an actual company - this is fraudulent and the fact that he owes us 910.00 for work not performed- theft !!
