Westlake Financial Services Reviews

  • Aug 4, 2023

On November 19, 2021 i purchased a 2011 Hyundai sonata from Watkins auto sales which financed through Westlake financial services. total price for the vehicle was 10k, i paid a total down payment of $2,800 for the vehicle and insurance which was required I make a payment of $347 monthly. I never had a problem with the financial company or the car until the engine has gone out 2 months ago, i contacted Westlake about the vehicle and they told me it was nothing they could do and he also told me he could see that the vehicle was leased with no warranty. also I had the vehicle 18 months and it shows on my account i still owe an amount of 10k. I've ask why does my account says i still owe 10k i was told they doesn't know why it says that and put me on hold almost a hour, i was also told the reason why the loan amount still says 10k is because i made all payment after the due date which was the first of each month, and was paid towards Entrance. I've paid my car note each month a couple days after but none of this is making sense to me. i was treated unfairly because they said they could not help me with anything.! after telling them i was going to report them i was put on hold 20 and told they could only bring my account to current because its almost 2 months late..! after explaining that it wouldn't help because i can not drive the car because it doesn't run, days after the engine went out i begged them to help me out a little, it got to the point where i offered them to come pick it up and yet it still sits outside..! I've took a total lose dealing with this company. I've asked could i get my BLANK PAYMENTS back for those months plus down payments and was told NO..! im being treated so unfairly and i will like someone to take actions.!

My car payment is due on the 3rd every month. That is before the grace period for which I would be charged a late fee. I called Westlake Financial on 2/27/23 to ask if they could grant me a payment deferral or extension for my upcoming payment. I was instructed to call back after the payment was due after 3/3/23. I called back on 3/4/23 and was told that I needed to pay a $50 fee to be considered for an extension or deferral. They also added a $5 fee for using a credit/debit card, a fee for which must be paid because they offered no alternate means of processing a payment so the fee for an extension/deferral was actually $55 and not $50. Over the next 19 days I was receiving collection calls multiple times a day. On 3/24/23 I received an email from Westlake Financial that they were offering customers a payment extension, something for which I had already paid the $55 fee to do. This email was not stating I was approved for the extension but just a blanket email stating I might qualify for one if I contacted them even though I had already done so on 3/4/23. I called them and representative named Isaiah processed the request and I asked about why there was a late fee assessed because I had in good faith and before the payment was due called to apply for an extension/deferral. He said he knew nothing about that call I made on 3/4/23 and that I was responsible for the late fee. I spoke with a supervisor named Eyvine that agreed to waive the late fee as a “one time courtesy”. I asked why the extension request was not processed until after a total of 20 days and a late fee being assessed. He said the request was being processed. I don’t fall for that nonsense. Westlake Financial is intentionally waiting until the customer id past due and assessing a late fee before they are processing the extension/deferral request. It is just another way to charge customers additional fees, just like the $5 debit/credit card fee, even when the customer is contacting them in good faith before a payment goes into the late status. It is nothing more than a scam instead of helping customers who are trying to be responsible. BEWARE OF THIS THIRD RATE AUTO FINANCING COMPANY, even if it means you have to pay a higher rate somewhere else.

May 11,2022, I purchased a 2012 E550 Mercedes from a dealer in Marietta and financed through Westlake Financial. The also sold a warranty. I started having problems with the car in June. Carfax report indicated the car was in good shape and had been maintained. When i took it to the service department, the entire car was junk.Repairs exceeded the value and amount owed on the car. Bad Engine,Bad transmission,Rust underneath, leakinf fluids, smoking, needed motor mounts replaced, bad batteries, four quarts oil low, every major thing was wrong with this car. The maintenance tech knew something was wrong and couldn't figure out why a car with 110k miles would have this many major problems. The cost of repairs were 25,801.90. I would have needed to come out of pocket 16,000.00 plus pay 402.00 per month plus pay full coverage insurance. I decided to do some research to learned that the car had been scrapped by the dealer three times prior to my possession. The car should have been sold for parts and should have never been driven on the road. This put my life in harms way. I would have felt better if the finance company totalled it out rather than send to the auction. I felt scxammed by the dealer and finance company and it appears that they are in this criminal activity together. Westlake need s to get their money back from the dealer not me. Eventhough I've tried to work it out with both of them, no favorable results. I have many documents about this car and much certified mail where I sent to both of them. How low down can one get, I'm a soon to be 78 year old female.Who does this but a criminal. Never paid a dime towards warranty but kept my money, has affected my excellent credit. I feel robbed and ignored by both. Robbed of downpayment 2000. plus several car notes.

Westlake Financial Services, LLC accepted a Loan Guarantee from Geico in the amount of $25, 612.16 which paid off my loan entirety and included the service, tire and wheel, and gap protections plan of the vehicle. Westlake Financial Services request that the protection plan be canceled and refunds be issued to them. They received the vehicle service protection plan refund in the amount of $1,616.47, and the tire and wheel protection in the amount of $214.88.

The refund for the gap insurance was mailed to me in the amount of $591. On December 28, 2021 I received a check from WFS in the mail for a refund of $659.12 which was incorrect and no itemized breakdown came with it to explain what the amount entails. The guarantee letter stated that the insurance (Geico) would pay off the amount of the vehicle for $25, 612. 16. and because my account was a total loss that the payoff amount would reflect the pay off amount from the date of loss which is September 9, 2021.

I have not checked the refund check WFS sent me because the amount is incorrect and I am requesting that they fixed it. I told to numerous of people who tells me different stories regarding my account when I call. No one is never on the same page it always something different. This company doesn't have a clue. They want you to get frustrated and give up so that they can keep your money. I don't think it should be hard to resolve this matter if there is one person handling the account.

My phone number is on file, but they've decided to email instead. Although I was in default by 30days they could have still reached me by phone knowing the situation everyone is in ( Covid-19). I've called westlake financial to sort payment arrangements, they took my payment and still repossess the vehicle.

I logged in online 2days after to view payment history and realize nothing was posted and updated to my account.

Now I'm out of a vehicle.

Back in 2016 i bought a 2007 jeep liberty from a used car dealership. I took a loan from this company .. Before my first payment not even having the truck for no more than 3 months the fuel pump goes i called up the dealership and told them i am returning the truck because not even 3 months and fuel pump goes.

The dealership told me i had no warranty for that, i was fuming. I called westlake and told them i wanted to get rid of the vehicle due to faulted parts and problems, they advise me that i havent made a payment yet and i can take it back to the dealership.

I wind up paying for a fuel pump because i needed a vehicle. That set me back for the first payment that i had to make i called Westlake yet again explained i would be late with the payment they told me it was fine as long as i make it in the next 10 days.

I wasnt even 3 days late with the payment they are calling harrasing me for a payment saying they are coming to get the truck, i said thats funny because when there was a problem with the truck you wouldnt come but now i am late the payment that i called and explained to you.!!!!

Need least to say i keep the truck for about 5 or 6 months when i had to called them to get the piece of junk because it stop running. The dealership acted like they didnt care i called to have the truck picked in the process of them towing the truck the driver messed something up with the truck.

Westlake try to file a claim with my insurance company which failed!!! No they keep calling and harrasing me saying i owe them $8,000 on a piece of junk. Saying i damaged their truck and they couldnt sell it in auction for that much.

One caller told me if i gave them 2500 they would wipe clean i refuse to pay anything to this company they are scammers and harrass on a daily bases from different numbers.

In October 2016 we got a 2007 Ford pick up from a used car lot in Amarillo. we signed all the paperwork and the dealer said it was late in day to come back next for our copies. we didn't realize at the time we got scammed, the dealer put down Westlake as our loan company at 23.9 percent interest. we made all our payments on time then in July of this year the truck started running horrible. we called Westlake said the dealer wouldn't work with us and to please come get truck as we wanted out of contract. now it's been sitting in a field next to friends home for 4 months with melted computer and we've called them numerous times to pick it up. we have tow companies called wanting to repo it still sitting in a field.

I called Westlake today and told them one more time come get it. the guy I talked to said we're busy we will get it I said tags expire this month and our city will tow it and impound it he said you have to pay to get it out of impound and turn it over to our repo person. I said no come get it he then said give me 4800 and we will erase the debt of your credit and you keep truck. I said no he said ok we try to come get by the end of month but if not you must retag it. I said no I'm not paying a dime for a crappy no running truck. so now it's a wait game. I have a feeling their going to drag this on and then sue us cause our city impounded it when they've had 120 days to pick it up

Westlake Financial Services was Paid in Full by Geico Insurance. They are reporting as not paid in full on my credit report. This is false information. This company was fined a large sum however, they continue their false practices. Something should be done by the government to close this company down.

We contacted Westlake Financial to obtain a Release of Lien for a vehicle we paid off over 10 years ago but for which the DMV still showed a lien by WFS. We contacted WFS and was told to contact a third-party company in order to get that document and refused to help. The cost to have the third-party provide that document would be $45.00. I spoke with person after person and all I got was "sorry, but we can't provide that information to you. You will need to contact mytitlesupport.com". Our loan was through WFS, not a third-party vendor. That document should have been provided as a matter of course. The customer service was horrible. They refused to help saying that they provided all of their records to the third-party vendor and we had to contact them. When I asked them to contact the third-party vendor on our behalf and get the document for us since we were their customer, they refused.

If at all possible, DO NOT BECOME A CUSTOMER (VICTIM) OF WFS. We also went through this process recently with another credit company and it was a breeze. They didn't give us a minute's grief and provided the document the same day. Our loan was sold to WFS and if I knew then what I know now, I would have paid off the loan before having it transferred to WFS. Any business that conducts themselves in this matter does not deserve to stay in business. Run!

Have dealt with westlake financial for over a year now, in the recent months I have missed some payments due to lack of work and being a disabled veteran with multiple issues. They have now been calling me every day multiple times for the last couple weeks, spoke with a lady named Jacqueline and told her why I haven't payed issues I am facing and told her when I can pay and even offered to pay alittle above what they asked for. She then proceeded to tell me I was stupid with money I dont know what I am doing and proceeded to make me look like a crook!! After this wonderful 20 minute conversation I ask to speak to her manager, after about 30 seconds she hangs up on me. I call back and was answered by a guy this time, told him my issues and said all I wanted was for him to put in the notes in my account the amount I will be paying and when. He then proceeded to tell me that they are tracking my car with traffic cams and that it will be found unless I pay $400 right now. I told him I do not have the funds available due to being out of town for work and needing what money I have left for food and gas for the trip home. He then again stressed that they need $400 now I will have my car repossessed now they will find my car out of state by traffic cams and take the car then and there. After listening to him repeat himself multiple times he finally agrees to put the information in the notes on my account. Even after all of that they have continued to call me today multiple times even though they know the answer they will get and keep threatening me. Any help or advice that could be offered I would really appreciate it!!!!

I purchased a 2003 ford mustang in 2013. This being my first car i was very dumb about this purchase and also with 0 credit history my apr was 24% Yes, yes this is retarded). I busted my bum to pay off this car and did in 2014, i received the title for it. A month ago i am purchasing a new car thinking that i would get a great deal since my previous nightmare. To find out, they did not report it...

I have called multiple times to avail. I'm going to keep pressing this because this is my credit and i worked hard to pay off this insane vehicle and interest. If someone has been through this and has any help to provide i would greatly appreciate it.

I seriously hope this helps someone not go through west lake. This is a nightmare that i should not even have to be enduring right now.

My loan was written for 8,900.00.. They will not answer my questions as to where the extra 5,000.00 plus got added on.. The Blue Book value is 8,500.09 for the vehicle. Don't know what to do or who to contact. I need help please.

Oct 23, 2016 I purchased a vehicle from a used dealer in Kingman, Az. I had 1500 dollors in cash for 1200 to put as down payment and 300 for insurance.

I found a saturn and was to pay 200.00 on my payment. I then agreed to pay 1000 down with the other 200 put towards my first months payment. I asked the car dealer several times about how high the interest would be but he just changed the subject. My brother was with me because he wasco-signing and was going to be the registered owner of the car. They gave us temporary tags but because my brother

had to get to work we left getting no paperwork on the vehicle. 3 months later they called my brother to come pick up his new plates so he did and the registration with his name on it. We put the plates on the car and they were not due to be renewed until oct 31, 2017.

I proceeded to pay my 200.00 payments each month by calling westlake and paying with my debit card, I was never late but on Sept. 28, 2017 I woke up to my car gone. I called them and they informed me that i would have to pay

360.00 repo fee storage fees and the 200.00 payment that I was late on. I asked them what payment and I was told that the pmt i made with the car dealership was never applied to my car loan yet noone ever said anything each month that i made my payment by phone.

I also realized they were charging me about 30 to 40 percent interest on the loan of 5000.00. After making payments for a yr i still owed 4600.00. That week I worked and saved all i could to get my car. I emailed them all week everyday to inform them I would have all the money they wanted and i would pay that next Thursday to get my car returned to me. On that saturday I recieved a letter stating they were going to sell my car on that next wed. One day before I was due to get it out. I have since to get a letter letting me know how much it was sold for .

2 days ago my brother went to DMV to cancel the registration only to be told the car was never in his nameso they had every intention of stealing my car after a year of making payments. I have lost 3000 dollors and have no car. This is the first time I have ever financed and I am 63 years old. I live in a town where my job is kind of out in the middle of nowhere so now i have no car to get to and from work.

Cheating little old ladies is horrible, i needed my car. They still call everyday to threaten me so it is stressing me out,.

I'm buying or I should probably say was buying a truck that I was financing through Westlake Financial services. It was repossessed on 06/20/17. I called Westlake about recovering my truck the same day. I was told by a Westlake representative that I would have to pay 2200 something to recover it. I was also told they would give me time. A week later I called Westlake. This time I was told I would only have to pay $1025 to recover it. I called again the following week and was told my truck was at auction. I cried to the representative that how could that be, I've paid $6700 on a $5200 truck. I couldn't lose my truck, he stated it had been 10 days already. I told him I was never told anything about 10 days all I was told that I had time. Then he started I didn't pay $400 something like I had arranged so it was taken to auction. I told him I had never made arrangements on making any payment.

He said well that arrangement had been made maybe not officially but it was made. My dad told me I should have been careful being late on my payment that close to my payoff date. He said they wouldn't repossess it if I'd only payed 1000 or 2000 they'll wait until they've gotten$6700 from me sell it for almost as much as I've paid, they just got double the money. I feel like Westlake is preventing me from recovering my truck. I loved my truck. I worked hard for the money I've paid on it. Normally in a situation like this I'd look the other way but Being a single mom of 4 I cannot take a loss of $6700. It would take years to recover from that. Being without transportation for 2 weeks with a family size of 5 in triple digit weather is literally almost unbearable. I just don't see how this can be?

  • Jul 1, 2017

I paid of my loan in January and still had not received my car title by June 30. Called the representative and they originally told me that the title had been released in early February. After more digging, I find out the the the truth is the title still hadn't been released, nearly 6 months after the loan had been paid off!! When I asked why it had not been released I was told, and I quote, "There a number of reasons why this could have happened and I wouldn't be able to tell you the particular reason your title wasn't processed." So after lying to me and telling it had been released they admit it hadn't been released and couldn't tell me why other then, there was an error somewhere in the system.

If I had known the company was this reckless with processing paperwork I would have never done business with them. They certainly knew exactly when your payment was due and if they have received it or not but couldn't tell me why 6 months after my loan was paid off the title had still not been released. Great record keeping when it concerns payments but reckless when it comes to their responsibilities to the customer. Really makes me wonder how secure or adequate the systems they use are.

Westlake Financial was the financial for our vehicle. I traded it in on June 5th on a new Toyota before the pmt was due. Toyota called them (I was sitting right there) and got a 10 day payoff amt. One week later, a rude person from Westlake called demanding the June pmt. I explained I traded the vehicle in, that Toyota was mailing a check, and I no longer owned the vehicle, nor had possession of it., also went to Toyota, they said they sent the check. TODAY, I get a notice in the mail, that they, Westlake, not only wanted the pmt for June, but also for JULY ( it's still June) total $450.00! And the "pay off amt " was exactly the same amt they gave Toyota on June 5th! Do not deal with this company! Do a search and see all the horrible things they've done to people. They prey on desperate people wanting a car and the majority of the buy here, bad credit accepted car lots do business with Westlake. Guess I'm going to get a Atty!

Loan amount on 7/2015 $12.795.50 Loan amount on 6/2017 $10,561.11 total paid towards principal $2,234.5 total paid towards interest $5,456.37 in almost 2 yrs and that's with $427.58 a month payments. To date I have paid $8,690.87 on this car.

Some of my payments went towards interest only, see attached itamized photo of my charges. I was trying to get my credit up and they are doing nothing but bringing it down, you have been warned! I was told that i could change the payment date to the date i needed and then it was changed to a date that is not good for me so i tried to change it back to original date and they wont. I am now always 3 days behind since they refuse to change my payment date to the 15th and from the 12th!!!! They charge a $7+ charge a daily in addition to your APR in addition not just a late fee and that accrues interest of course.

I had a late payment and was trying to give them a credit card for a future dated payment that is 3 days past the day they want it and they refuse to work with me. Calls daily threatening to reposes for a $130 late payment. They are rude and unwilling to help even 2 years in my loan.

You do the math this place is meant to milk you and steal from you!!!!! I'm sure if they let me get to the end of the loan they will just find a way to reposes! ALL THEY WILL DO IS SAY TRY AND GET REFINANCED. Don't make a mistake like me You've been warned.

This company applied my car payment to another account, then repossessed my car on a Friday at 6am. I called and they found the error however they still charged me for the reposession fees, kept my car for over 6 days and I still don't have it back....keep saying they are very busy......I am at a total loss on what to do here. They literally keep saying, just keep calling back and we will get to it eventually? Different story from every agent, most struggle with English, this is by far my oddest and most frustrating consumer experience of my life. They will do nothing to own or attempt to correct their error outside of continually saying "call back later and perhaps someone has gotten to your file" Absolute insanity.

I have been with westlake now 4years I paid off a car and went to buy a another only to find out that they never reported anything to credit agency! now im on second vehicle and they still continue to refuse to report to credit agency.

Im furious and have sent my DL SSN BIRTH CERT credit report over 15 times over last 6 months! still the retards say we never recieved it or can you send it again and the supervisors are just as bad "we choose not to report' really?

I said you are a ripoff and a fraud because you advertise helping people fix thier credit is a lie "a theft of service " and should be criminaly charged for theft, misrepresention ,voilation of financal services , BREACH OF CONTRACT just to start! I asked for a full refund and damages and they said "we cant do that" lol

There services did nothing for my credit they kept me in the same bracket as I was paying 368 a month, that is a 1200 dollar a year loss just with them ! I should cut my losses and take it to some homeboys and get my down payment back and let the car end up in 200 different pieces on its way to S America. :p

Any Good Lawyers out there could have a field day with this case $$$$$$$ any takers? [email protected].

Westlake Financial is a company designed to rip off the consumer in any way they can and not be responsible when they do something wrong!

They decided to repo my car after being 30 days late on the payment. The vehicle was towed from my home and my rights are, as I understand its a consumer, that I should have 10 days to recover the vehicle before they auction it off. We paid all the fees and payments, sent in the necessary paperwork and had it completed by day 8. We would have had it done in 4 days, but it was Good Friday and the banks were closed and then a weekend. My husband got it quickly done on Monday morning.

They put us off and said they were waiting for all the things to be done on their end, even though we were complete on our end by day 8. We finally got the release to go get it and they already had it shipped to the auction, 400 miles away! They sent for it to be done on day 4!! They said we could go get it and that's all they would do. No apologies, nothing.

We called the auction to hold it and got in the car and made the trip. (another weekend without it) We got there on Monday morning, retrieved the vehicle, and it was damaged.

We asked the auction folks and they said the vehicle inspection report stated it came in that way. Plus, the license plate is gone, and the contents left in the vehicle had been gone through and items were stolen.

We called Westlake. Their response?? "Well, you'll have to talk to the transport company, it's their fault and we can only give you their name, you'll have to find their number!" We came back and talked to the tow company and they had no info either.

Now, lets see. They should've never arranged to take it to auction. We had to go get it. We were out 2 days work, our items and license plate were stolen and it's damaged! Plus, we get no info on the transport company and no one takes the blame. Am I a disgruntled consumer? Should I be?

I understand being late on a payment is grounds for certain things, but this has set us back a lot more than just money.

Westlake will not be respectable, nor own up to their fault and I'm left with a damaged vehicle and my stuff was stolen! Plus, I had to drive it back home without a license plate.

My intent is to sell the vehicle and pay it off (which is what they'd rather), plus, I am seeking legal options against this low-life company.

I purchased my 2006 Mercedes CLS 500 on 02/14/15 from the carlot car collections. My car put me down on 05/16/15 and

I had to have it towed to my house. I decide tohave it towed to a auto body shop. The mechanic told me that the transmission was gone. He told me that the car can stay there with no storage fee as long as he going to fix the car. So remind you a transmission was going to cost alot. I remained paying my payments. Never miss one except for the one that they granted me a extension for July. I did not suppose to make another payment until 08/31/15. My payments were set u on auto draft. So the company decide to try and take a payment out for July and it did not go through. I didn't have the money and they was not supposed to draft. Getting to the point, something told me to call the shop and check on the car to let him know that I was going to get it fix in November. The shop told me that the car was repo on 08/14/15. They had to release the car. I hung up with them an cal the bank. I asked the bank why was my car picked up. The excuse they gave me was that the shop call them. NOT TRUE. They call the shop to verify that the car was there and picked it up and send it to SC so it can be sale at an auction on 08/31/15. Remind you they didnt tell me this onthe phone. They just told me fax over documents and the guy I spoke to on 08/19/15 told me that I would have fees to pay to get the car back but they can put it toward the end of the loan. NOT TRUE AGAIN. i was told today that I would have to pay $590 to get the car back and pay it by western union and then the loan would have to be refinance again. I feel like I shouldn't have to pay anything because there was no logical reason for my car to be picked up. If anything they need to compensate me. The car is still not working. I never got any of my stuff out of the car and probably never will. I was told that the manager was going to call me today. NOT he didn't. Someone please help me. Is there anything that I can do.
