Western Express, Inc. Reviews

When I was employed by Western Express, I was told that the rate per mile I would be paid ranged from $0.34 to $0.75 cents per mile depending on the lenght of the run. My first load was from Atlanta to Rome, GA, and I was paid $0.75 cents per mile. From that time on, I was paid from as high as $0.34 cpm to as low as $0.30 cpm.

The last day I worked I spend an entire day looking in Indianapolis for empty trailers and was paid nothing.

I was earning as much 15 to 20 years ago as Western Express pays now. Also Western Express pays nothing for three days of orination or waiting days for a truck.

Please think twice about Western Express. My husband was told 3 days training in Nazareth and then off on his own. He was told he would be running flatbed. Now I will say that Western did give him a chance after not being on road for awhile. After training there they told him he have to go to Nashville. They did reimburse him for milage drive there. So now it was another week for more training. Plus now he is no longer using a flatbed.

He was a van. They put him up in a hotel owned by Western and it was very disgusting. His words. They told him he would have to go out with a trainer for one week only but he would be paid 1000. Or 42 cpm. It is now week for with trainer and he's only being paid 324 bring home. His trainer even agrees he does not need a trainer any more. Still no truck in site and he has been sitting alot waiting for loads that are not coming. They have doesn't nothing but lie to him from day one.

We as a team went through orientation in oct. 2016. Brought a truck with us from quality. We were told by recruiting that the trucks were taking home between $1.50 to $1.60 per mile. After questioning that amount I was assured that the truck would net that amount, that they had an excellent customer base. First check I was (as expected) in the negative. I did not see any customer loads as I was expected to get my own loads from brokers....their reps at chrw, coyote, schneider, and such. Turns out the brokers had a deal with western to skim an extra amount of money off each load. I found a nice load at chrw and called a friend of mine that works there, and he quoted me a price to haul it. When I told him I was at western, he directed me to westerns rep at chrw. The western rep gave me a price on the same load that was $100 Less.

After questioning him about it, the load all of a sudden dissappeared. This turned out to be the norm, not the exception. Payday....seems western changes gross pay as well as fsc, that I negotiated with brokers. When I questioned my dm, he informed me that he would talk to his supervisor about it. Further questioning over a period of a couple weeks Warrented hostility from him. Never got resolved. Over a period of 27 years in this industry, I have never experienced such blatant thievery, or outright lying. This would probably be a good starter company because kids don't know any different, but, VETERANS STAY AWAY.
