Firewood Rip Off (Pender Island) do Not deliver. Please be advised Wayne Cartwright is a construction contractor and knows all the tricks to shave prices and payment. He threatens law suits/ government inspectors to get You to back down. We delivered 4 cords. Paid for 3. Not ok. Back breaking work requires payment.
We know its a rip off because we carefully measured the cords. The customer also said at delivery that it almost seemed too much and shouldn't we stop. Then He waited 5 days to complain about 1st two cords, until after second two cords were delivered. Shaves one cord off price. Waits til its on the ground. Then uses his wife to obscure even further the argument and payment.
Gets you to pick up $ from his wife at work. Then she denies payment. He later paid for one cord, not two. He owes 350$. Why am I reporting? Because its a warning to other wood cutters about this sort of scam. We are gutted. Do Not Deliver to this ripoff artist unless you get paid before you Drop the load.
Its really sad to see folks using abusing others hard work. We will take this down if/when he pays the correct amount. $350 for solid fir cord of high quality wood cut to order. We actually should have charged more as he ordered bigger much heavier pieces the second time. Cruel.
