Wawa Realty Brooklyn 1 Reviews

  • Mar 20, 2017

My father booked a rental, through Hotels.com for a room in Brooklyn from a business called WaWa realty. His stay was in October ’16. Upon arrival to this "hotel", my father was greeted by some random person, since there was no front desk. This person handed my father the key and some lousy, poorly written "contract" that was an agreement of a 400 dollar cash deposit, to be returned after 90 days from his date of stay. My parents, having nowhere else to stay, since they had relied on this to be their hotel for the night, followed through. My parents are also limited in English, which makes them all the more of a perfect victim to scam. After doing some research, I read another report on Wawa realty and learned they frequently do this to foreigners. After the 90 day wait time my father hears nothing about his deposit. Mind you, 90 days is already a strange allotment of time to return said deposit. My father contacts WaWa realty directly, only to be hung up on. This business did not contact my father by any means, did not answer his questions, did not say anything. And then repeated to hang up on him once they knew what he was calling about. Then my dad contacts Hotels.com. Hotels.com is able to get in touch with Wawa realty. They state the deposit is not returned because my father neglected to check out on time, and he "lost the key". These are both false, and of course, there is zero evidence on Wawa’s part to back up these bogus, easy claims. My dad actually had checked out early to head to DC before traffic started. He even has a gas receipt time stamped on an earlier time that his check out was supposed to be. And they key thing…come on.

They really have this scam routine down, their reasons are obviously bogus. This company has ripped off many many customers. I read multiple stories and reviews online of customers stating they were basically robbed 400 dollars. Some people have even been robbed an extra 200. Also, the key was left exactly where he was told to leave it. There is ZERO evidence of the claims that WaWa realty has given. Again, this company has scammed and continues to scam customers with these fraudulent "deposits". My father was forced into a cash deposit for the room, which was not returned. And the company is impossible to contact. No website, and a very unprofessional phone line which hangs up on you. The red flags are killing me. It makes me wonder how many thousands of dollars this company has scammed people out of. How many thousands of dollars in profit haven’t been claimed on their taxes. This is all a big, big lie. It makes me angry that so-called trustworthy big names in travel booking such as Expedia and Hotels.com allow these illegal sublets to occur through their sites. We’re taking this to small claims court. I also suggest you never book anything through these awful liars. You’ll never see that cash again. This business uses short stays to scam people out of 400 dollar cash deposits without any paper trail. These deposits never return.
