Water Equipment Technologies Reviews

  • Feb 7, 2017

After a call last year about a water test in my home and promises of a $50 gift card, no one got back to me. Then about 10 days ago (Feb 2017), Water Equipment Technologies of Florida, Inc. called me again to offer what sounded like the same thing. When the salesman (Troy) arrived, I told him I wasn't interested in a water treatment system. He then said that I wouldn't get the card unless he made his presentation of approx. an hour. OK - so I fell for this scam. As a chemist I should have known better. He ran some smoke and mirrors water

sediment/flocculation examples including an "ooh" color change. He said that the product was made and warranteed by GE for life. He offered me a lower price of $5700 if I put it on a charge card but had to buy it today only. Red flags and sirens should have said STOP. I honestly don't know how I could have been so stupid! He provided a bunch of bottles and "green" cleaning products. I told him I didn't want any more sodium in my water - he assured me that I didn't need to worry about that. He provided some cheaply made handouts which

indicated that the AdvantaPure system removed metals, chlorine, VOCs, etc. All of this is false advertising - this system is not guaranteed to do any of that. I said that I wanted to see actual chemical analytical data. He didn't have that. Instead, I STILL went ahead and purchased the unit. Well, one of the ways they get you is that they install it that same day. Then the installer gives you the product brochure, "warranty" info, and cleaning products. Come to find out - GE doesn't warranty this product! A little known company in Florida, The LeverEdge.com is the so-

called warranty provider. It's a limited warranty - hardly a lifetime. One would be really lucky if this provider is around next year. When he came back on Monday, February 6 for his closeout call, he again made a quickie water exhibit showing how there was no cloudiness. Whoopee. It means nothing. I told him how dissatisfied I was how I knew it was a scam and that I would let others know. Buyer's Remorse. The fine print on the contract said that I agreed to only arbitration, no class action lawsuit. This company doesn't give you chance to try the product or

return it if unhappy. Again, I can't but kick myself a thousand times. How stupid I was. This company should be put out of business.
