Wakefield & Associates Reviews

  • May 1, 2018

April 28 , 2018 Wakefield and CCS Medical On Monday , April 24 , 2018 we opened our USPS Mail late in the day . At a time after the Postal Office was closed . Within a demand letter from Wakefield and Associates . A demand threatening additional Interest is enclosed for $70.18 . Interest was added in already . During 2014 we were paying on a medical bill . Jan 2015 we sent out checks paying off small bills . Called Wakefield and Associates . . Carolyn Advises the bill was for Terry . I asked for accounting . "No can do as we are a Collection Agency" . I called CCS the debtor for that information as directed by Carolyn . At CCS Brooke claimed Wakefield & Associates had all that information . I corrected her , at that point she informed me it was my bill . Then she informed me I must Contact Wakefield & Associates for billing history .

When I called her out I Requested an Email with all Billing and payments .

She reluctantly agreed . Received 4-25 CCS Email , only 2014 listed and showing missing payments . The CHECK numbers do not match those we sent them ** . On 4-26 again I called CCS for the missing information . I had conversation with Veshase requesting all the missing info : "we don't keep records of payments done without we sending billing first . ___ Then oopsie --- : "We have copies of Bills sent in 2016 . Our policy is you cannot have these . Absolutely yes we sent in -monthsanncov- in 2016" , followed by being laughed at . I stated no Bills were ever sent to me since 2014 . -- Another oopsie--- "We sent all , your mailbox is at fault ,. All years/ months , we sent them . It is our poilcy , I am only able to send you a Bill with today's date , Apri, 26 , 2018 ."

I requested Email copies of all billing again at that time . No Email 4-27 , no Email prompting another call to CCS . Jenn : "all was USPS yesterday . I asked again for Email requesting all info , 2nd day in a row . Vehasase reluctantly agreed and advised will do so . Again on 4-27 no Email . Call CCS . Brenda : "all was sent out 4-25 . You must wait for the Snail Mail sent on 4-25" . Furthermore I was advised all Bills were sent .. I asked for all copies and I questioned why I am being prevented from seeing proof . I am being denied access to any Billing beyond 2014 . "Dunno , You MUST contact this number , I am done with you ; call for the info you want : 800-537-3870" . Wakefield and Associates owns that number and denied me access to Billing History in the FIRST PLACE . This is 4-28 NO Email No USPS .. The whole lot are Liars and scammers IMHO . If we actually owe the money , we will pay . We get Bills = we pay PERIOD . I will pay No Interest , no agency fees . This is not our supposed mistake if your collective lies will lay claim to this . By Dec 2014 , WE HAD PLANNED TO RELOCATE OUT OF STATE . We started to pay off small Bills . Since we stopped getting Biling , it was thought we had paid it off . I just demand proof of all billing . PROVE IT ! I also want to know why I was denied Due Process . No notice of Legal Action was ever sent . When did that occur ? No warning I was being sent to Collection . No contact since 2014 . Show ME all of this information ! How do I own interest ? Show me . *** Furthermore , there is a discrepancy between what CCS Medical - Wakefield and Associates show the balance is ? Quite interesting and proof of a scam IMHO . I do understand when you go to court , you must have ; "clean hands" . RSVP JohnJR Landgraver

My wife was at the end process of applying for an equity loan on our house. She was called by the closing agent with information that we had two outstanding medical bills with Wakefield and Associates that were showing up with the credit bureau and that a lien had been placed on our house until paid in full. I had paid off one medical bill they said I owed $80 a month until paid off in November. The second bill they said my wife (Judi) owed a medical bill for $532.81. Wakefield never contacted her and said she owed that amount.

As I was going through my bank statements to verify that I had paid off the first bill, I noticed that another $100 a month was being taken out of my bank account for what turned out to be the alleged medical bill of my wife. I called Wakefield and Associates in Knoxville, Tennessee and questioned them why they were taking money out of my account and who was the person that authorized the withdrawals. Altough the calls are supposed to be recorded for quality and documentation purposes, the agent said there was no name in their records who granted permission for the multiple withdraws, but since I had an existing account with them it was added to my account (without notificaton or permission).

The agent said the account has been paid in full, reported to the credit bureau and they still have a lien on our house.

Back in 2013 my wife went to seed a dr. At the time we had a PPO. They tried to bill us an obsorbant amount but we contacted the insurance company and they told us to have them rebill. The hospital instead sent it to collections. (St. Joseph Medical Center in Orange, CA) The collection company gets a hold of us and tells us the debt is from 2014. During this time we had a different insurance company and they stated we had no claims that were unpaid and they saw no unpaid balance in the system from St. Joeseph medical center. We contacted Wakefield & Associates and the only thing they could provide was an invoice with no information on it. Stating it was Dr. / Patient privacy and they were not pervy to the details. They started reporting it on my wifes credit.

We just went to buy a second home and it is still showing up. I contacted them and told them we already disputed this and if they could give us more information we would be able to research it further. Finally I was able to get someone at St. Joseph Medical Center to hunt down the bill based on my wifes social. It turns out the debt is valid. So she said if I pay the hospital they would not charge interest or penalties but they would not remove it from my credit. So I decided to call Wakefield & Associates. I got a level 1 collection person and decided to ask for a supervisor. That is when David Pena comes on the line. I explain the situation and he states "If you pay your bill in full today, we will report it paid within 1 week and then we will delete it off the credit report shortly after. It can take up to 90 days." I ask him to send me an email with that information and he said thats not the way they do business. I have to pay first, then they will send the email. I tried to explain that I would have no proof and he stated they record their conversations and he doesnt lie. I said I did not want to pay unless I got the letter. He said he could ask his manager but he doubts he would do it. So I ask to speak to the manager.

The manager comes on and I miss his name. Thinking there may be some resolution I dont ask for it again. I explain what I want in order to pay it in full and he asks why I think it should be deleted. I told him that we were never given enough information to properly investigate the issue and he says we sent you the bill. Thats all we have. I tell him the David Pena said you would delete it and he said No, we dont do that. I said why did he say that. He said I must have misunderstood him. I told him that he speaks good english and I understand it perfectly. There was no miscommunication. He states that he will not delete it because they are reporting it correctly. Come to find out, the service date was in 2013 and they are reporting it in 2014. He stated that is the date they are allowed to put on the credit file but Transunion, Equifax and Esperian all told me otherwise.

The debt is only $461 at the hospital but I feel like we are getting taken advantage of. Plus I dont like to be lied to in order to get the payment. David Pena never had any intention on removing it from the report he just wanted to get our money. Be careful with these guys. They will tell you whatever you want to get your $$.

When first collection company contacted me over a year later I was told that the fees were just over$600. I went to court to meet them and told them I was on disability and could not pay. They said they would not pursue it. Later they turned account over to Wakefield who informed me charges were $1600. In January 2015 they withdrew $2261 dollars from my bank account which was money I borrowed for a new roof.

Debt colection company hoping that I will call them back for an unsubstantiated debt, there is none. That is why I won't call back. I just cleaned up my bills, and had a law firm do all the work. This company believes that they can make me call them, I will not, I will change my phone number fist, they can kiss my shorts before I will interact with them. I own no one past due, my credit score is excellent, my bills are all on time. Don't even call them back, I never speak to unknown people on the phone, unless I research them first, these people are scammers . . .

I am being charged for bills from 2014. Wakefield & Associates have begun garnishing wages. Not only did I have insurance coverage, but I was on medicaid as well, and according to THAT do not owe a single thing. Yet my wages are being illegally garnished.

I have been getting phone calls from this joke of a company about a bill from 2011 when I had fallen off of an RTD bus and walked up to my school and the hospital was right next door to my school so I went to my school and went to get some ice and was going to go to the hospital but my school called for the ambulance and now five years later they are calling me wanting money
