Volaris Reviews

Volaris has many nice and helpful employees. But their tech is a disaster with no place to report bugs. Issues:

1. Number one is there needs to be a place to report in order to fix bugs.

2. Their website and App are loaded with bugs. Just dozens and dozens. no way to complain to anyone about it.

3. Today I tried four times to do a check in both using the web and using the App. I kept running into catch 22s like i file out the page and there is no "Next" button or way to move forward. So I had to start all over again.

4. check in on other airlines web pages takes a few clicks and a minute or so. On volaris I have to enter so much info that is or should already be in my profile like phone number and email address. It is a long and laborious process and rife with bugs and things that stop the process cold. And catch 22s where I can no longer move forward.

I like the Volaris employees and Volaris has non-stops to where I am going, but it is beyond frustrating to use their website and App. And there is no avenue to complain about it. If the executives at Volaris really care bout their company they will attend to these issues.

Thank you

Steve Bollinger

I booked a flight with VOLARIS from GDL to MIAMI I needed a flight fast out from Mexico. They waited 8 days to tell me it was cancelled in an email only saying COVID.

There are no issues with other flights going to MIA. They only cancelled because they did not have enough people on the flight. They also tried to keep my money when I called there. I called my cc company and disputed.

There is no email for this company, long wait times by phone call. Poor business practices. They should have offered me a free flight and refunded my money immediately. They offered me nothing for my trouble.

They need to fix what they broke and then I will change this complaint if they do something to help me. My opinion is that they are only interested in the money not the customer.

Booked two March 23 tickets from Guadalajara to Phoenix & changed flight date to March 20 because of State Department advisory. Looked at "flexible" carona virus ticket change policies on website, which said no change fee, only the cost difference in flights. Made change from March 23 to March 20. Then two separate charges appeared on my credit card, one for each flight, for a total of almost $1,200. I was charged for tickets on both days PLUS a change fee of $792 pesos.

Tried to get through to Volaris call center for almost 6 weeks with no success. Filed an online complaint asking for a refund. Finally on May 12, I reached a U.S. call center and was told my date change did not meet Volaris' booking criteria: the reservation must be changed within 24 hours of booking AND be made at least 7 days before the date of flight.

While this may be Volaris' policy during "normal" times, it was not stated in the Covid-19 "flexible" change policy on their website. So I made a decision to change flights without all of the information. So....I lose.

It is worth the extra $600 I paid for two unused tickets to tell you about Volaris' poor website software (tried numerous times to book original flight online without success), their dropped calls over 6 weeks, my frustration at the "not in service" dial tone, and the final blow: paying twice for one flight. So this is $600 worth of marketing advice to consumers all over the world: DO NOT FLY VOLARIS AIRLINES EVER. And TELL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS NOT TO FLY THEM. Touted as a budget airline, hundreds of consumer experiences have shown that "budget" is going to cost you a lot--not just money, but time and frustration in trying to straighten out cancelled flights, refunds, and other customer service problems. Do yourself a favor and hit Volaris where it counts: the bottom line.

We paid for direct flights at expensive fares over holidays....booked 5 months in advance......30 days before flight emailed us flights were 1 and 2 stops and return was overnight flight......No rebate on tickets or free hotels....no good option was offered....We decided to stay 2 extra days in Cancun at our expense and fly home on a daytime flight......NEVER TRUST Volaris offers.....They will change schedule to fit their needs at the last minute.

Customer service people were unable to cancel or refund our tickets.

I will NEVER fly volaris again and I recommend you find an alternative carrier as well.

We ( my husband and I as I need him as a care provider due too my medial condition) paid extra for a no fee changeable ticket. Shortly before the scheduled flight my lung filled with fluid and my doctor would not permit me to fly. We sent a letter from our doctor explaining why my medical condition prohibited flying! When we contacted their agents we were told that the only way to keep the value of our tickets was to schedule another flight.. Our original flight was to participate in a clinical medical trial at a clinic in Cancun and we did not know if/when a second trial would be offered nor did we know when I would be permitted fly. But to comply with the agent we booked a second flight for December 19th and paid an additional fee because the tickets cost more AND WE WERE CHARGED A CHANGE FEE! I spent last week in a hospital with a filled lung and was not permitted to fly. We sent another letter from our doctor. Last night we tried to book another flight to Cancun using our NO CHARGE CHANGE tickets and the flight we wanted in February was the same price as our original flight in November. Despite having paid you 21728 pesos already we were asked to pay yet MORE for the tickets AND yet another change fee! Alternatively we were offered a 4000 peso voucher on a 21728 investment. This is the most despicable, unethical, airline I have ever encountered and we have filed several highly critical reviews on travel sites and we will file as many as possible on other sites . If we had seen these sites before we bought tickets we would never have chosen to fly with Volaris. Volaris consistently has the worst possible ratings for scamming people for more money and dreadful service .

Volaris traveler beware! You need to read the fine print in the Volaris legal section first. For an international travel you need to arrive at the Volaris counter 180 minutes before departure. On April 27th 2016 I arrived 60 minutes before departure at Chicago Midway to fly to Morelia, Mexico, and no one was present at the counter. I was not able to figure out how to print out my boarding pass from an email sent from Volaris. Therefore I had no means to get through TSA to the boarding gate, and had only a back pack as a carry on, so no baggage to check in, (I think). After reading numerous other Volaris customer complaints this might not be correct, as nearly any carry on is charged for. Bottom line is the flight left without me. Talking to Volaris employees on the phone they could care less (too bad, so sad), and I'm out the cost of this nontrip, time, and cost to park near Midway Airport for 6 days.

Going to the Volaris website to make a complaint is a waste of time. Emailing two different email addresses that appear to be public relations contacts results in one email address that bounces, and the other will not reply. Bottom line, flying with Volaris read all the fine print and be prepared to pay extra for anything connected with the flying experience. I've flown internationally with other airlines to Europe, Asia, and Africa and never encountered the "180 minute prior to departure rule", or the unwillingness to communicate about an issue, or total lack of respect for the customer.

I have tracks to Oceanside sandiego and after going to a casino I had my photo ID made to gain points for comps and they need a copy of credit card. I returned to Alabama and realized they had not returned my card. I look up charges and over 2000.00 along with foreign transaction fees were posted to my card.
