My husband and i wanted a loan modifcation on a 2nd mortgage.
Veritas law group Specifically john garibyan) insisted that we modify both the 1st and 2nd mortgages, even though our first mortgage was current.
Veritas charged us $15,000 up front.
Veritas did not put an attorney's name on the contract we signed, only "veritas law group".
Veritas never modified the 2nd mortgage. They sent frauduelnt correspondence full of lies to the bank and forged our signatures All without our knowledge). They internally closed our file Without our knowledge), then had us write a check Made out to veritas law group) for the 2nd mortgage loan settlement.
Veritas then disappeared. The former office in downtown los angeles is gone, empty. The phones are disconnected.
We are working with the los angeles city attorney's office to file criminal charges and get our money back.
Stay away from any and all of these bastards: john garibyan, andrew weitz, shobert vartan, john ribarich, veritas law group, new horizon and associates, equity financial mortgage, century 1st inc.
Our original loan ballooned to one and a half its original amount, and we were in trouble. My wife saw a commercial while watching Allen Mendelliston show, it was promoting the Veritas Law Group, and how they can help modify your home loan , and help you save your home. Well we contacted the Veritas Law group, We went to their office in dowtown Los Angeles at the Union Bank Building. We actually met with Shobert Vartan , he reviewed our situation, and stated that they could help us. He said that it would cost us $20.000 up front, but that if we gave them cash , he would reduce the cost to $18,000. Unfortunately we took the bait, and gathered up all our savings, along with some help from family members to get the cash. We proceeded with the process thinking that we were in good hands ....ha ha little did we know that we would be faxing documents and being put on hold with different people in that office for over one and a half years, being told each month that they were almost done, dont worry about a foreclosure sale date, we just need two more bank statements, one more copy of your pay check stubs , etc. etc. it continued to a dead end. All of a sudden we were getting no response at all, then about a month later, me and my wife went downtown to their office location, only to find out that they moved out !! Anyway , they moved to the office of Andrew Weitz in Encino. we were actually able to contact an associate that was working at Veritas Law now at Andrew Weitz office. It was Carol Salenmo who was one of the people we spoke most often with about our case. She stated that Shobert was a fraud , and had ran off, and was being persued by the attorney generals office and that our files weres sealed and not available. So we have been RIPPED OFF by Shobert Vartan, and Veritas Law group. We are still fighting to save our home, we are dealing directly with the bank now, but the outlook is not so good. You should avoid using any legal services from Shobert Vartan, Andrew Weitz, and John Gardbahyan. As a group they managed to steal all of our savings, and probably our home.
Shobert Vartan is the clown of Los Angeles. He scams homeowners out of tens of thousands of dollars for loan modifications under the idea that he is an actual state bar licensed attorney in the state of California. A little research shows that in fact, mr. Vartan did not graduate college nor did he take the state bar exam. Funny he has no problem charging homeowners retainer fees of over $15,000.00 for legal services when he is NOT an attorney. This guy is a joke. His office staff is a joke. And frankly they are all committing fraud.
Shobert you are an awful piece of s*** and you stole from my family in more ways then one. I've already notified the state bar of your illegal practice and they have shown great interest in the little scheme that you are currently running out of your office in downtown. The best of luck to you and your "firm". Looks like you're looking at around 10 or more years behind bars. Also we also took it upon ourselves to notify the attorney generals office as well. STAY AWAY FROM VERITAS LAW OFFICE AND ANYONE WHO IS ASSOCIATED WITH SHOBERT VARTAN.
