United Advisors Group Reviews

They are taking money out of my account monthly and not paying off on my loan. It is still with Great Lakes. This has been going on for 4 years. I am supposed to have loan forgiveness after 10 years.

Stay Away from UAG

I owed $80k in student loans when I started with UAG two years ago. My loans are up to almost $200k now...apparently all they did was file a forebearance on my behalf (I could have done this myself) and collect $49 a month from me. Meanwhile, unbenounced to me....interest continued to accrue in my accounts up to $200k total. I'm filing a complaint with BBB today, does anyone know if a lawsuit is pending against this company? I will never be able to pay this off, might have to file bankruptcy.

Disappointed

I am very disappointed in this business. I am completely confused. I have been paying them every month for over a year! Not sure where the money is going but I do know it's not going towards my school loans. I feel like I have been taken advantage of and will never trust anyone like this again!!

I have been paying united advisors group for around three years now. However, now I find out that they not put any money towards my Student loans! Now Fedloan has my loans up to over $80,000.00 and now want payments of over $800.00 a month. So how is it that they can get away with this, and Fedload said all I could do was report then to the BBB. They already have an (F) rating. Mean while that are getting millions from American students under the false pretenses saying it's under the "Obama Student Loan Forgiveness program."

They assured me that my money was being sent directly to the federal student loan department. However, discovered that was not true. I'm in the prosses of stopping my payments and I am currently in the process of taking every action that I can to recover my money. But it dosen't look good!

United Advisors Group contacted me by phone to talk to me about my student loan. I thought maybe they got my number from something that I may have filled out on the Internet. This was in March of 2015. I spoke to Michael Oates. He took all of my information, got me setup with a plan I could live with. He explained that because I was on disability I would only have to pay for three years and the rest of the debt would be forgiven because of my disability. I setup an automated draft to make my monthly payment. As of today they have collected 465.00 dollars. I discovered that none of this money was paid to my original lender, when I began receiving mail from my lender. I called Eve Farfan who had communicated with me via email. I didn't get a call back. I emailed her stressing that it was urgent I speak to her. Still no call back. I finally got to speak to her the next day when I called her. She assured me that all of my money was being sent directly to the federal student loan department. I called a Federal ombudsman only to discover that was not true. They made a report, but could only supply me with phone numbers of other entities who might be able to help. I didn't have enough time to write United Advisors Group to inform them that they could no longer take money from my account. I did a stop payment with my bank. I am currently in the process of taking every action that I can to recover my money.
