Tina Shin Reviews

  • May 16, 2020

Tina Mijin Shin, Tina Shin, Mijin Shin, Tina Mijin Shin aka Mike and her husband John Foster Farley posted the following inaccurate libelous review(s) against our company when we refused to be extorted to provide additional free service calls or services:

Tina Shin aka "Mike M." posted: "Hired based on previous yelp reviews, extremely disappointed in their customer service. We purchased and had them install a new heater only couple weeks ago and tried using the pool heater once but it took forever to heat so we gave up and then we just tried again 24 hours prior to wanting the pool heated to ensure it would be heated and it still didn't work. Steve refused to help and basically told us to read the manual and ask our own regular pool guy.

We spent nearly $4000 and they couldn't even send someone to check why the pool heater wouldn't work because they said they confirmed the spa heater worked on a prior phone call and it should be simple (yet they won't walk us through it on the phone or stop by for a quick visit to resolve). I expected a company would be helpful to their customers at least within the first attempt to try the new equipment and within the first couple weeks of purchase, but Steve refused and basically took our money and now we have to figure out on our own why the new pool heater doesn't work.

Do NOT hire this company as they have zero follow up and no customer service and we have had our last 2 attempt to heat the pool for parties fail and be utterly disappointed. Steve and this company are poor examples of character and integrity in a company." Tina Shin who's online Yelp pseudonym is "Mike M." claims in her review many false statements and refuses to accept her own ignorance. Our company attorney sent her and her husband a letter demanding they remove their false reviews. We have been tracking our calls to show loss of business damage to our company and brand as a direct result of their false reviews and to our surprise and our calls have actually increased, as have our 5 star reviews as a result of these two jerks maligning us online.

Shortly after the first review a potential new customer hired us and told our service person they hired us because #1 they knew our reviews were authentic and #2 the one star authors sounded like such aholes they went with us predominately for this reason. So, we should be thanking them. Since we have no damages and the last several months have never sold so many pool heaters we still want to post our experience with them and warn others of their vindictive nature if you don't capitulate to their demands and in our case provide a free service.

We refused any further assistance once Tina Shin made extortion-like comments to our staff she would besmirch our company with an undeserved unfavorable yelp review when we did nothing wrong! We chose to reserve our right to refuse service when Tina Mijin Shin's email insinuating she will be providing negative feedback online if we don't capitulate and offer free services. We don't do business under duress, extortion is illegal, we did nothing wrong. Our installation agreement was to remove their existing pool heater and install a new one, it's not an insurance policy to cover unrelated issues or items, user error, incompetence, inability to follow simple instructions.

We will address each statement in her false review: "Hired based on previous yelp reviews, extremely disappointed in their customer service." "We purchased and had them install a new heater only couple weeks ago and tried using the pool heater once but it took forever to heat so we gave up and then we just tried again 24 hours prior to wanting the pool heated to ensure it would be heated and it still didn't work" "Steve refused to help and basically told us to read the manual and ask our own regular pool guy." "We spent nearly $4000 and they couldn't even send someone to check why the pool heater wouldn't work because they said they confirmed the spa heater worked on a prior phone call and it should be simple (yet they won't walk us through it on the phone or stop by for a quick visit to resolve)." Incorrect, the price you paid was $3000.00 not almost $4000.00

"I expected a company would be helpful to their customers at least within the first attempt to try the new equipment and within the first couple weeks of purchase, but Steve refused and basically took our money and now we have to figure out on our own why the new pool heater doesn't work."

Three in person demonstrations, verbal and written instructions were all provided. The pool heater works, what doesn't work is your brain cognitive ability to follow instructions or take personal responsibility! "Do NOT hire this company as they have zero follow up and no customer service and we have had our last 2 attempt to heat the pool for parties fail and be utterly disappointed." Correct, If you're ignorant, vindictive and incapable of following simple instructions especially after THREE separate in person demonstrations followed up by verbal and written instructions then do not hire us! "Steve and this company are poor examples of character and integrity in a company."

Hundreds of 5 star reviews, tens of thousands of satisfied customers we refuse to be extorted by anyone let alone idiots! We have provided several solutions to your problem, ADJUST YOUR POOL PUMP SPEED IN POOL MODE to a higher RPM (over 3,000 is recommended), we provided a demonstration in person to your husband John Foster Farley not once, not twice but THREE times, we have text instructions, we suggested you could ask your pool service man, have emailed a link to turn the variable speed pump up yourself, offered to come out for a service call fee which you refused. Instead, you threaten extortion if we don't provide free services, we don't respond or do business under duress.

John Farley/ Tina Mijin Shin writes:

"I am really hoping we can resolve this amicably."

We have been resolving this amicably, we explained ad naseum your variable speed pump which is set to go to 3450 rpm in spa mode per automation settings you need to adjust the speed of your pool pump in pool mode or it will not have adequate water flow and display LO service. We have also provided the option to come back for a service call since your issue is not related to our installation and separate.

John Farley/ Tina Mijin Shin writes: "If you are not willing to help to make it work let me know. " What exactly does this mean, we have explained the unrelated issue with your automation and variable speed pump settings which were existing prior to our installation, neither of which did we install or service.

John Farley/ Tina Mijin Shin writes: "Otherwise I am expecting your company to solve my problem." We provided you several options, would you like to pay the $85 service call? You also have the option of calling the heater manufacturer which is under full 3 year warranty, they will charge you a service call once they diagnose the problem isn't your heater but your pool pump is in a low speed setting.

John Farley/ Tina Mijin Shin writes: " because it works in spa mode means nothing to me." You stated in your a message the heater works in spa mode. Your wife Tina Mijin Shin purports the heater has "never worked" since installed. You acknowledge it does work in spa mode. Ergo, there is nothing wrong with the pool heater or the installation. We did not install your variable speed pump or automation. We did come back out at no charge to troubleshoot your transceiver which isn't sending a signal and your pool light fixtures which are receiving voltage but need replacement. Neither of which did you approve. Also, at that time, A technician came to your house on his day off and NOTHING was mentioned about the heater not working.

Two service technicians both state the heater worked and works as it's customary to test fire it after installation. Brian also states he showed you 3 x how to turn the heater on from inside the house and activate the spa.

If you would like to schedule a service call we will be happy to accommodate. Again currently a service call option has been refused by Customers. The heater install technician worked Saturday and Sunday and we're at our peak season and don't provide free service calls when there's nothing wrong, an estimate is not needed and troubleshooting is not required.

Additionally we provided the phone number for the manufacturer id they believed there was a warranty related issue, we advised they too will charge you since this is not HEATER RELATED. we were hired to replace A POOL HEATER! Your POOL HEATER is working. Our job is working and complete!

We provided several times verbally and in writing : If you would like to schedule a service call let me know what time and day works for you guys, thank you.

Instead, Tina Mijin Shin and John Foster Farley BOTH maligned us online as a direct result of our refusal to provide free services!! We reserve our right to refuse service to anyone! They turned out to be horrible nightmare customers we all strive to avoid. Because they're ignorance and inability to decipher and listen to simple instructions provided in English numerous times regarding operation of their POOL PUMP, which we DIDN'T INSTALL!!

Anyone providing services to these two might think twice! They're nightmare customers, ignorant, don't listen, blame others for their incompetence, manufacture their own set of facts, leave out details, exaggerate and malign others when they don't get their way, awwww poor little babies let me send you a pacifier
