Thrifty Propane Reviews

DO NOT pre-buy propane from Thifty, they are a a scam and a poster child for poor customer service, oh wait, make that NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

We pre-bought propane in the fall of 2017. Everytime we needed propane, we could never get a hold of anyone. You order the propane on line and you never hear from them again. They deliver when they feel like it. First they will tell you 10 days, when you call, they will tell you 10 business days, when you call back because they did not deliver, and they tell you its been changed to 15 business days. They put the prebuy customers on the list for last delivery because they already have your money and they are delivering everyone else first. When you call and ask for an estimated delivery date, they send you to "dispatch", which is a voicemail that NEVER returns your calls.

I promise if you pre-buy from thrifty at their "lowest price", you will be calling other companies for an emergency refill to keep from running out. We spent more money on emergeny fills from other companies to keep our take full, than we saved on the pre-buy from Thrifty.

We know other people that had the same experience with Thrifty as we did.

THRIFTY PROPANE SUCKS!!!!!!!!! I HOPE THEY GET SUED AND RUN OUT OF BUSINESS, SO NO ONE ELSE GETS RIPPED OFF!

On 06-08-2016 I purchased 3000 gallons of propane from Thrifty Propane through a Pre Buy Program. The purchase was paid by credit card. I was given a delivery date of 08-18-2016. A week prior to this date an employee from the company called me and stated they moved the date back to 09-23-2016. I told the employee I could not wait and that my current tank was ready to run out. I also told her a handicapped relative lived with me along with his 12 year old son and my house ran on propane. The employee stated she would have the department for scheduling contact me about the problem. I never received a call.

I made approximately 10 calls to the business and they all stated they would e mail the department to reschedule. I requested to speak with a supervisor and they transferred me to a voice mail. I left a voice mail and never heard back from anyone.

On 08-29-2016 I made one last attempt to resolve the problem. I spoke with the employee that sold me the order, "Larry". He could not give any solutions to the problem. I cancelled my order at this time.

This is the first complaint I have ever made about a company. It was the worst service I have ever experienced in my 56 years.

On October 21st of 2015, I called Thrifty Propane to inquire about purchasing a propane tank. I left a message, within a few hours, Scott from extention 797 returned my call. He was very rude, but answered my questions and I paid almost $800, using my debt card for a new 120 gallon tank to be installed at my house. I called him back almost a week later to set up the delivery of the tank, he was again rude, telling me that is not his job but he did finally give me an extension to call to set up the delivery. That extention was 715. I have called this number more than 20 times to set up the delivery. I have never once recieved a return call. I started "live chatting" with the company in December explaining what I have been through. They said they would forward my information to the correct people. Again after more that six chats, no response. On December 30th, someone did call. She said she was not in the office that sets up deliveries, but could offer me a used tank to be installed on January 14th. I was not happy with the tank or date, she said to call extension 723. I have not called that number repeatly, leaving a message each time.

I do not beleive I will ever get a call back from this company and have requested a refund. Of course the only way to make this request, since I can never get anyone on the phone, was to do this over the live chat. Since this method of communication did not get me anywhere before, I doubt I will recieve a refund this way either.

Buyer extremely beware in north east Ohio. These people will steal your money!!!! Ordered propane and a tank two months ago, the day after I ordered they withdrew my payment of over 1200 dollars. They scheduled my propane delivery a month later. Two days before my delivery date they called and said they lost their driver and would have to delay my delivery for two more weeks. They asked me to take the day off of work to be there for the installation of the tank.

I called the day before the delivery to make sure it was still on the books and I couldn't get ahold of any one. I left messages and call back numbers. Finally I was able to Internet chat with a representative and they said the tank would be delivered today. Well no tank was delivered and no one has returned my calls. Do not buy from them!!! Starting tomorrow I will be evaluating what my next legal actions will be. Again buyer beware, these people will steal your money!!!!!
