The USA Nursery Reviews

Incorrect order

Just like everyone else I am getting no response for a customer service issue. I ordered three Sunshine Roses, which are supposed to be yellow. When they bloomed all turned out to be pink. No ability to leave a phone message as the box is always full, and no response to numerous emails. Now, the website seems to be gone so I guess we all got ripped off.

*order 4 cherry trees and they looked dead when I got them and only one lived.

  • Nov 4, 2017

Me too

Ordered 8 dogwood trees May 2, 2017. $62.00 Got dead sticks. Called but no answer and messages full!

They won't respond to emails. I wrote several letters. No reply. Wow they sure cheated a lot of us!

We need some legal aid to jump in and go after these bastards. If a lawyer is out there and could make these people pay I expect most of us would be happy getting half our money back and give the rest to the lawyer for taking it on.

  • Sep 12, 2017

Please beware. This company's website has photographs of fully matured trees, and descriptions that do not represent the products they sell. Also, when there is a propblem, like dead trees, and requests to replace, they do not respond. They do not respond by phone, email, or regular mail. The trees that they ship are such poor quality, that they are sure to die. The shipping methods are not adequate for shipping small sensitve plants. They promise to replace them, however, getting any response about the promise, is impossible. Currently, they are unreachable by phone. Looks like a good method to make money--however it is devious, especially since thay have so many existing comlaints already!

  • Aug 24, 2017

Bought these trees on 05/08/2017 and after 7 weeks they finally arrived and were DOA, Called 100 times and I got their message to leave a message but each time they say their box is full and cannot accept more messages. I call every day and same thing. This is a national rip off artist if ever I saw one. Is there a lawsuit I can jump on the band wagon aginst these criminals

  • Aug 21, 2017

Back in May, 2017. I order 32 hybrid popular trees @ $7.95 ea to plant along a lake shore, and around the RV park. When I got them I followed all instructions that came with them. Only to find out a couple weeks later. I could have left them in water for years and they wouldn't have live. They were dead. Not dormant like they claimed. I gave up trying to call them. So I sent an email to no avail.

  • Aug 18, 2017

I called them shortly after I received my trees in April of this year. The woman I talked to told me to give the trees and bushes a few more weeks to see if they started to grow.

I waited four months till 8-17-17 and called them during normal business hours (3pm ET) and was greeted by an auto answer system which said they were unable to take calls and to leave a message. The voice mail was full. I checked their website and found that they are no longer accepting orders for spring planting. This makes me believe that they are not in the office part of the year.

Back to the trees and bushes. Of the 7 plants I received, only 2 trees grew. The rest were dead on arriaval in California. Either they were dead when they were shipped or died in transit. So, I suspect it is all over for me on this claim. The guarantee says I would have to return the entire plant and pay postage on it inorder to receive replacement. But the lady said I would be required to send a piece of it. I suppose I waited too long. Since the office hours are on Eastern time, the shipment was across the entire United States.

Perhaps it was a bad idea ordering from so far away.

I had located the USA nursery on the internet with a very alluring website and for all practical purposes looked very legitimate. We ordered several trees for a very reasonable price. The trees were delivered promptly. However, upon initial inspection all the trees appeared to be simply dead branches. We planted them and after several weeks of watering them noticed that there were no sign of life. I contacted them and they verbally indicated that I need to give them about 8 weeks and if still no sign of life, return them and they will send us new trees in the next season.

After about 10 weeks, I contacted them and I was not able to talk to anyone. I furthermore noticed that there are a lot of complaints with a similar issue.

I think that this is a a rippoff and for those thinking about ordering from this site, please don't.

  • Aug 5, 2017

Several months ago I ordered $50 worth of plants from this nursery. They arrive battered and beaten up in a box that they raffled to my home in all the way from Connecticut. I immediately called them and complained and I was told " we have a year guarantee if your plants and trees don't survive we guarantee your money back. Give them a little while to see if they'll be ok". I've gone plants all my life and these arrived desiccated and hopeless! I have tried multiple times to call them their voicemail box is always full. I'm considering a class action suit would anyone like to join me?

  • Jul 14, 2017

Refuses to respond to emails. Tried calling but it's a recording saying to leave contact info but you can't because apparently there mailbox is not excepting any more messages. How convenient. My husband spent $55 on cherry trees for me for my birthday.

  • Jul 14, 2017

I wish I had read these reviews before ordering.

Same story as everyone else. Ordered 3-5 foot cherry trees and got DOA 1 ft sticks....not dormant, dead. Does not respond to email or phone calls. How is this company in business?!

  • Jul 10, 2017

I received the items that I ordered however all but one of five items arrived dead on arrival. I have tried contacting usa nursery by phone but they do not answer and when the call goes to their answering system a message informs you that the message box is full and will not take a message. I emailed the request to replace the dead items as per their promises page to their provided email address and have gotten no response from the email after about 2 weeks.. This so called nursery appears to be a scam.

  • Jul 3, 2017

I gave this company a chance. I received the plants but none of them looked alive or healthy!

They all looked dead. But hoping they were all dormant, I planted them anyway and tended fertilized, watered and waited 3 months.

They are all dead and dry sticks. Tried contacted them twice, no response. No customer service! Just a bunch of dead plants!

Stay away from this company! Don't get fooled by cheap prices, they arrive dead and stay dead....very very disappointed!

I had ordered 274.00 of plants and trees and 3 months later, I have received one small box that was beat up. I refused it, and sent it back. I have continually called and emailed them, and have had no response. I filed a dispute with my card company, and was denied. Now I'm out of 274.00 and no bushes or trees.

  • Jun 22, 2017

Order from one of these bareroot tree nureries and there is a Good chance you will get dead trees, spend the money to send them back and then off coarse never hear from them again.

  • Jun 22, 2017

I bought 12 apple trees from the Usa Nursery. I spent $155 on 3-5 ft apple trees. What I received was 1-2 1/2 ft dead saplings. I called the number provided only to get a recording. I left my name, prefer number, and return number. No call back. Ive also sent 4 emails and again no response. The company is a ripoff and a scam. Don't waste your money

  • Jun 17, 2017

  • Jun 13, 2017

I ordered trees, bushes & plants from USA Nursery online on 04/29/17 totaling $ 84.50. Shipping was $14.95. It was paid from my credit card on 04/30/2017. I was notified by email that this order was shipped on 06/07/17 & I received it by USPS on 06/09/17 and immediately placed all the roots in water with Miracle Grow rooting solution. However, it all was very dried out with tops of all the trees & most of the bushes cut off. The cherry trees were supposed to be 2-4 ft., the Asian pear trees were supposed to be 3-5 ft, the hydrangea were to be 2-3ft. , but the box they came in was only 1ft. 8 1/2 inches long, They all looked dead. This was extremely disappointing. I am very angry, because the company, I feel, did not send what I had ordered and it is all looking dead. I am retired on Social Security & a small pension, so this was a major purchase for me. I called USA Nursery contact phone number, but was not able to talk with someone there today, 06/12/17, a Monday, but I left a message as directed with my order number, name, home phone number & a brief message referring to the problem & asked to be called back. This surely must be illegal!

  • Jun 7, 2017

I ordered 5 plants all came dead. Then called a replacement got wrong plants and dead plants. Complained again and got dead plants. Made it hard the 3rd time to replace now I have to wait til fall. All dead plants and unprofessional. One lady was nice but all other sales rep. Not friendly and very unproffessional.

  • Jun 7, 2017

Ordered a dozen 2-4ft trees, they shipped 8 inch sticks. They also taped around the few roots my sticks had, so some damaged occurred simply by unpacking. They claim to be in CT but ship from TN, go elsewhere and save your money.

  • Jun 5, 2017

I purchased almost $80 worth of bare root plants from USA Nursery most of them arrived completely dead or so dried out that I can't seem to revive them I have tried twice emailing them to contact them and cannot get through on their phone. I feel that thet are total scam and hope that anybody and everybody who reads this will not purchase from them. I know it's not just me because I ordered similar plants from a second Nursery all bare-root and they're all doing wonderfully and came in beautiful shape.

  • Jun 5, 2017

I purchased 10 plants from this company in early March - never received a confirmation email. They showed up in late April and were nothing but glorified twigs with very little root systems. We placed them into a bucket of water until it was safe to plant them outside. In almost a month only one plant has developed any sign of life with one tiny bud on it. The others are as dead looking as they were when they arrived. Upon checking their website I see that if you don't alert them immediately that plants you received are not healthy - and then pack them up and ship them back for a replacement - they won't replace any plants - AND, THEY DON'T REFUND ANY MONEY (See their promises below). I realized after receiving this order that I had ordered from this company a few years back and had the exact same issue. Sad, twigs that did not thrive was what they shipped to me.

The USA Nursery takes every precaution possible to make sure you receive your plants healthy and ready for planting. Unfortunately, there are occasions where packages get lost or has an extended shipping duration. Usually in fall or winter when plants are dormant you should check the bark on the plant to verify it is green. Simply scrape the bark and visually examine.

Our First Promise

When you receive your order, if there are any plants in bad condition, you must call us immediately and we will replace the plants absolutely FREE upon completion of our Return Authorization WITH THE RETURN OF THE ENTIRE PLANT BY PARCEL POST ONLY – FOR THE COST OF SHIPPING at our expense.

Our Second Promise

Due to the natural character of plants and trees, which sometimes fail to live for no particular reason, we offer free replacements according to our First Promise. We do not offer refunds. If, by mere chance, any plant fails to live for up to twelve months after delivery, simply RETURN THE ENTIRE PLANT BY PARCEL POST ONLY – FOR THE COST OF SHIPPING, at our expense and will replace it absolutely FREE. Please call for shipping instructions and to let us know when you wish to receive your free replacement in our NEXT SHIPPING SEASON.

Our Third Promise

If by mere chance any plant or tree, due to an error on our part, turns out to be the wrong item or color from that ordered, you may RETURN THE ENTIRE PLANT OR TREE to us BY PARCEL POST ONLY – FOR THE COST OF SHIPPING at our expense for a free replacement within 30 days after discovery of the error. Please call for instructions.

Our Fourth Promise

We guarantee our prices to be the lowest available in the USA. If you find any price lower than ours – SAME SIZE AND VARIETY – after making a purchase from us of the identical item(s) – we will refund the difference plus 50% of the difference. Please send proof of the lower price. We will mail your check within 48 hours of receipt of the lower price

We ordered $140.00 worth of trees from this place. We saved 5 trees, which are now dead also.

The rest were DOA. We called and e mailed several times. Got no response until we left a volice mail threatening legal recourse. Then some old lady called, said "If you killed your plants, then mail them back for replacement". I was insulted, because we did not kill the plants, they came that way.

We sent them back, as instructed, and have heard nothing from them since. We saved our reciept from the post office, so they could reimburse us for the return postage. We know they got the plants back, but those people haven't acknowledged anything.

Being disabled, our money is budgeted carefully. We wanted to grow fruit, to save some money. We got ripped off big time!

  • Jun 1, 2017

In early spring of this year (2017) I ordered four rosebushes from this company in hopes of getting them established and growing during the summer.

The charge for the rosebushes was immediately debited to my account.

I received an email advising the order was being "processed".

After several weeks and no rosebushes arrived, I sent an email enquiring as to the status of my order and received no respone.

I then sent a second email and still no response!

Phone calls resulted in a recording advising that the voicemail inbox was full.

It would seem that this company is, indeed, a ripoff.

  • Jun 1, 2017

Spent $189.95 , USA Nurery sent box of dead sticks with roots. No respose after several notifications.

You would be better off buying a vacuum sweeper that doesn't suck, at least you could cut off the cord and hang yourself.

  • May 31, 2017

I ordered two pink dogwood trees form the USA Nursery. They arrived Friday. I opened the package immediately. The trees were dead. The leaves were crisp dried and the roots were completely dry. These trees were dead when that lousy company packaged them. I called them this morning. I have to send the trees back and the woman I spoke to said they'd send new ones in the fall. No offer to pay for the return shipping despite their written promises on their website. I suspect others have had the same problem. I suggest this company should be the target of a class action lawsuit. They need to be stopped from ripping off other people.

  • May 30, 2017

Purchased large order of trees from USA Nurseries. When order arrived trees had no packing around bare root stock accept one piece of newspaper. Plants were extremely dry and appeared dead. No pride in packaging bear root stock. Cannot contact company! No response per e-mail and phone mail is full and not accepting messages.

  • May 27, 2017

I had ordered two weeping willow trees, ended up getting only one of them... it was about half dead. Remind you I paid $20 for this crap. I've emailed twice and left two messages on their fax machine, still haven't got an answer back. Very upset

  • May 23, 2017

Dead twigs, Not as expected, Partial shipment. No return calls, Unanswered emails, Unable to contact. Remainder of shipment never arrived. Could NOT contact Could NOT obtain info r refund. Extremely frustrating Lost $58

  • May 23, 2017

I wish I would have seen the other rip off report on this company before I ordered my hedge roses from them.. of course they took out my $ right away but it's 3 weeks and I've not heard from them nor can I call them and it's peak planting season.. the only reason I used this unknown company other than my usual is that being based in new haven Ct. it's hours away from where I live in Massachusetts.. thinking they would be quick to deliver.. but I cannot even call .. my emails go unanswered.. something terribly wrong and I think I lost 25$.. glad it was small order bec if over 100$ I would be really upset.. bad enough to get ripped for 25.00$! If new haven weren't so dangerous I would drive down and see for myself what the heck is going on!

  • May 22, 2017

On the 6-th of May 2017 I have ordered online a young cherry tree. UsNursery was so generous that they even offered a free gift - it was a rhododendron. As usually, I have immediately received my order confirmation over email. After a week, having no shipping notice, I tried to call their customer service (203-267-0204). The call ended with "Mailbox is full" message. I tried this customer service number several times with the same result. Then tried to reach them over email ([email protected]) - no response. Repeated a week later- same negative result. Sent email cancelling the order and demanding my money back - silence. I am not a lawyer, so I do not know how exactly to qualify such mode of operation. Simply speaking - it stinks!

  • May 20, 2017

On April 9, 2017 I placed an order from USA Nursery. The money was deducted from my bank account the next day as I place my order on a Sunday. I recieved confirmation of my order via email. It is now May 19th. I have not received my trees and bulbs. I have emailed with no response. I call the number and no one ever answers and the mailbox is always full. No one returns your call. I think this is a scam and I have been taken for $117.25.

  • May 17, 2017

I ordered 95 dollars worth of plants for outdoors on April 30, 2017. Next, I was offered six free plants which I chose the one's I wanted.

My credit card was charged a couple of days later. It is now May 16, 2017 and I still have not received my order. I called the phone number in Connecticut and the message said, "We are not available right now, please leave your order number and a message. There was no beep to leave a message. The next message I heard was, "The users mailbox cannot accept more messages".

Suspicous, I looked up the phone number listed on my credit card statement. It was a New York number listed. I called and the recording said the number is no longer in service.

Next, I contacted my credit card company. They have started an investigation. In the meantime they are crediting my account for the 95 dollars.

This is the first time I have been scammed by a company. No legitimate company would have phone numbers that are unreachable or disconnected. Please do not order from this company.

  • May 15, 2017

I orderred the trees because they have a very looking website with very cheat trees. When I got the trees they were all dead. After several weeks I don't see them grow at all. I made many phone calls but everytime there was no answer and a full mail box. This is a scam!!!

  • May 13, 2017

I ordered cherry trees from the USA nursery. They were delivered promptly. I immediately planted them. It's been over a month now and there is no sign of growth, and the tips of the trees are brittle and crisp. I have emailed the company three times and I included my order number. I also included a Brief description of how I thought these trees are dead. I have emailed them two times more and I still have not heard anything back. I called them today At the number that is listed at the website and tried to leave a message. Unfortunately the message machine is completely full At the number that is listed at the website and tried to leave a message. Unfortunately the message machine is completely full and can't take any more phone messages. I'm so embarrassed that I let this website scam me .

  • May 12, 2017

Ordered several apple trees on 5/5/2017. Promptly received my receipt in email and my credit card was charged. Waited a week and didn't hear anything on when my product would be shipped. Emailed the customer service address. No response. Called the nursery and received a message stating that they would not be able to take my call and to leave a message. Their mailbox is full. Found numerous recent entries on outscam for the same behavior.

  • May 11, 2017

I thought I was getting a good deal with these trees. I knew they'd be small but having a degree in Environmental Science and running the landscaping department at a lard resort to include managing an orchard I am familiar with starting trees from bare roots and its advantages. I am also very familiar with all aspects of tree care with years of experience.

When I looked them up I found nothing bad about them online. This is because I believe the Connecticut address is a front for their original company which is Summerstone Nursery which is no longer in business and has MANY complaints on google, with the BBB, etc.

The return address on my package matched the one on the website. However my tracking number for my package indicated it shipped from McMinnville TN which is where Summerstone was located.

I ordered 7 fruit trees. of the 7 4 arrived in bad condition and stone dead. I hoped they were dormant and planted them anyway but they are dead. They all came in smaller than I ordered. The free trees were all dead.

I paid 105$ for a box of dead sticks and 3 crappy fruit trees smaller than I ordered of which 1 is growing okay.

I don't have a ton of money as I just bought my house last year and have my first son due in August. I wanted to start some fruit trees on my property and this company took my money and sold me garbage under fraudulent misrepresentation to avoid their bad reviews from the previous company.

Furthermore shortly after I made my purchase my credit card info was stolen and I had to close that account and transfer the balance(- the fraudulent charges) to a new card, meaning it would be a pain to dig up the old info to dispute the charges and get my money back.

Do not give these people your money, you will regret it.

  • May 9, 2017

the usa nursery

Sad about my order, I ordered 5 trees (3-5 foot trees) they came in a box 2 feet by 4 inches X 4 inches, and they were in sad shape. My daughter ordered some of the same trees as I did, she got the some size box of twigs. Don't buy from the place it is a scam.....

  • May 4, 2017

I ordered trees from the USA nursery.com. and I have been ripped off like many other people I see on here. I spent $143 and got dead sticks and only half of what I ordered. Looks like they jammed everything in a hurry because they knew they were going to get in trouble.

  • May 4, 2017

I contacted the nursery because they had a great looking web site and cheap trees. When I finally got the fruit trees they looked dead. I put them right away in water and kept it changed to give them a chance. After several weeks I knew there was no hope. I tried to contact the many times now every time I call there is no answer and a full mail box.
