The Unstoppable Woman Reviews

  • Mar 7, 2017

The Unstoppable Woman claim to be a Non-Profit organization who holds vendor events to be a "resource of inspiration and empowerment" for women. They say they hold events every year in different cities and have vendor opportunities available so that women can see potential opportunities for business. They also say that at these events, less fortunate women will be brought in and money will be donated.

I was involved with one event that was a total bust, no people there except for vendors. At the time I chalked it up to having to make some last minute changes. Before the event took place I actually signed up for two additional events, and after signed up for web advertising.

The second event I was to be in was cancelled last minute so I asked that The Unstoppable Woman cancel me from my third event. Per our contracts we were to be refunded money right away. I have yet to receive a refund.

As for my web advertising, there was an issue right away with The Unstoppable Woman posting someone else's ad up instead of mine yet taking my money. I asked for a refund right away but was offered FREE additional months of time for the web ad so I begrudgingly said ok. Fast forward 4 months, the ad had not posted and was scheduled to.

Currently I'm 8 months after my web advertising was originally promised, 4 months after I was told it was scheduled (after the original error) and 4 months after my original refund for events was supposed to be received.

The company owes me around $800, does not reply, except once and said I'm not entitled to a refund because my ad was scheduled to post. It however is extremely past our original agreement. The Unstoppable Woman team say they mailed checks for the event refunds, nothing.

Run for the hills, they will rob you blind, refuse to refund you and do NOTHING that they say they will. This is extremely unwomanly, unchristian, and definitely not how a proper, legitimate non-profit would act.

I have proof of all of this and did not want to post public complaints to create more issue. But again, can prove everything here to be true, unfortunate fact.

I just want my money back and to be done with them.

And to think, I actually originally was going to see if they needed additional volunteer help as The Unstoppable Woman sounded like a fabulous organization and I have a PR and Marketing background. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed in their treatment of business and woman.

I registered and paid 250.00 in July of 2016 to work a vendor event scheduled for October 1st in Dallas Texas hosted by The Unstoppable Woman. I saw their event page on Face book and quickly registered because I had just started a new business and no other vendor was signed with my company. I was very excited. I didn't hear from them again until the last week of August. A woman named Devon called me and asked me for my companies logo and my shirt size. She told me they didn't have a place booked yet in Dallas and that all the vendors would be notified as soon as they did. Okay. I did a different vendor event on Saturday September the 11 th with a friend from my company and we found out that we both had signed up for the Unstoppable event. We were confused because only one representative from a company could book. She had actually booked in January with another company she was with but in June she called to change it to our company. I called their office on Monday morning the 13 th of September and explained the situation. I talked to a woman named Devon. She was very nice and so sorry that had happened and would work on getting my refund of 250.00 ASAP. Fast forward to today November the 4th and I still don't have my refund. For the past 2 months I have called and sent emails. Ive been told at different times that "oh! It's on it's way!" Or,we need your PayPal address. They even told me at one point a check was as mailed and that since I didn't receive it they would have to stop payment and issue me another one. I've been told SO many different bald face lies it's not funny! I have numerous email exchanges between them and me. They DON'T answer their phone when you call. I'm at a loss as to why a company who prides themselves on the treatment of women and also passes themselves off as a "Christian" company would do this? I was not upset at all with scheduling error!! Oh,and the Dalllas event was cancelled!!! I even got an email saying I would receive my refund within 7-10 business days! Like was still scheduled to work it! This is has been the worst experience I've had with a company. On Wednesday October 26th I got an email asking me for my PayPal email. I still don't have my refund of 250.00. This is the first time in my life I've ever written a complaint about a company. I just want my refund. Devon,Ginger and Becky are the women's names in the office. BEWARE!!!!

The Unstoppable Women's Conference came to Houston, TX on August 13, 2016. It is a complete ripoff/scam. The vendors who purchased tables/vendor booths were all very upset by the fact that literally no one showed up except the vendors, and the vendors were asked to be seated as audience members for the speakers. The organizers previously promised that they had already sold over 250 tickets and was expecting even more to purchase the day of the event. They also brought in "battered women" from the women's shelter who were disinterested, left abruptly afterwards, and unfortunately some of the vendors had items missing because they were away from their booths instead of trying to sell and someone stole items from their inventory. The bottom line is that the Unstoppable Women's conference didn't do much advertising, if any at all. They lied about how many tickets that they previously sold and they also lied about the demographics of the few people who did show up to the event. The vendors were charged outlandish fees and also our fear is that since they are a non profit organization they may be abusing grant funding as well. Someone needs to look into this and please alert the other vendors in the the cities that are pending, they are actually trying to do this natiowide, and someone needs to intervene and let those people know.
