The Palm Beach Boat Club Reviews

  • Oct 17, 2017

Upon joining the club in December 2016, I was able to make all my 4 reservations immediately upon joining, reservations which were all made withing the next 6 weeks timeframe. Amount upfront paid was approximately $3,600 which included a $2,900 initation fee and first/last month at $249 month + taxes.

Upon arriving home and seeing my neighbor who was also a member I informed her I had joined and when I told her about my upcoming reservations, she was curious how I got reservation within the next few weeks and she was told there were no reservations available. (That should have been my first clue).

Once we started using the club we relized the boats are in much disrepair, you pay a cleaning fee every time you use the boat but I dont quite understand why the boats are so dirty when we recieve them to use. (Not kidding multiple times beverage bottles and trash was still on board from previous riders).

A couple months into our membership the wait for a boat was 4 weeks out, our next try for a reservation was 6 weeks, this kept happening and getting longer and longer to secure a reservation. This planning out so far really did not work for us. Never the less boats we reserved were not there when we arrived because they were under repair (a few times). We always felt like we got stuck with an old beat up boat.

By July 2017 (only 7 months later) I was already frustrated and felt the club was not living up to my expectations. I requested to cancel and was told the contract stated I needed to give 60 days notice, so your telling me I not cant get a reservation for 3 months out but you still want me to pay 60 days more of membership when you cant provide me with a boat???? I canceled my membership and they actually billed me again the next month. So frustrated I disputed my last credit card charge and believe it or not they debated it with the credit card company and sucked that last payment out of me.

To sum it up, for 7 month that I was a member, using the club approx 8 times, I spent approx $5,900 which averages to the cost of $737, each time I used their crappy boat! You would think they could have let that last payment go. It was a learning experience, I would not do it again I would just rent a boat for the day when needed (with no ties).
