The Home Depot U.S.A. Inc. Reviews

I purchased a bedroom set from Home Depot last year. I constantly saw sawdust under the nightstand. I never understood why it kept appearing. Turns out its infested with bugs or termites. I wish I would have known sooner but I don't know a thing about termites or bugs in furniture. I don't know what to look for and didn't know that it was related to the sawdust. I thought maybe it was the wood work or something. Until I mentioned it to my husband and he knew to check immediately. I've had an issue with the furniture since we purchased it. It was sent with no nuts and bolts to put it together. We had paid for an assembler and he told us he couldn't assemble without them. Home Depot refunded the bed portion of the order. We then had to figure out a way to get it assemble and took pieces of it to Home Depot to locate the right nuts and bolts. Aside from also, the delivery guys dinging the walls this was the beginning of a s**t show. Then now only to find out the furniture is infested with bugs. I called customer care and was eventually transferred to Katrina Turner who was the nastiest person from the minute she picked up. Said it couldn't be. Impossible and that she was not refunding a dime or helping her the furniture returned. I'm concerned about the other pieces that could have bugs. She didn't care and hung up on me to finish her food. This is insanity. No one should have to worry about buying furniture and having bugs infested in it. There are plenty of reviews that prove that other people had the same exact situation with this same bedroom set. It's disgusting that she's giving me no help or empathy at all from a billion dollar company to fix an issue for a bedroom set. We are in huge Home Depot customers and to be treated like this is a real shame.

Went to return items I had purchased for my contractors the day before and on my Home Depot account. Employee and Manager stole my merchandise.

I called the police. Home Depot employees lied and said I threatened to shoot up the store. I'm a 43 year old business owner who works in a highly litigious industry so I have a wealth of experience in the civil judicial system. I said I would "Sue" Home Depot. I also initiated the call to police as I told the manager I would not allow them to steal my merchandise. This is where the story takes an almost unbelievable turn until I researched and learned situations like mine are rather common.

Home Depot has teamed up with local law enforcement and District Attorneys across the country to combat a publicly known theft issue in their stores. Due to these partnerships employees seem to be actively seeking out issues that most times just are not there causing a toxic environment for unsuspecting customers like myself. In addition, Home Depot employees who have been very publicly and documented in hundreds of court cases known to lie, fabricate claims, and steal merchandise seem to have impunity and believed over customers.

I was taken to jail for terroristic threats i did not make, still to this day my merchandise has never been returned or refunded (Home Depot literally stole my merchandise yet had me arrested), and lost $10's of thousands in legal bills and lost income.

I took a polygraph test (attached) and passed with 2.5 times the score needed for Truthfullness to prove my innocence. No deception found. I dont go around threatening women or risking my freedom and career over what amounts to dinner money in merchandise.

Home Depot literally has hundreds of false arrests, false imprisonment, and false claims just like mine or very similar and are defendants in over 4,000 cases as found on pacer. Home Depot has also been subject to regulatory actions with most government bodies from the FTC, CFPB, OSHA, and the EEOC to name a few. They have over 250 regulatory fines or penalties amounting to over $200 milllion in just the last few years and this doesn’t include civil suits or class actions by consumers.

I ordered a freezer from the home depot on 5/25 it is supposed to be delivered on 9/1. Since placing the order online I have moved and need to update my address. I called the home depot to update the address, mind you this item has not yet shipped so this should be a simple update that should not be a hassle. However, The Home Depot who has been holding on to the $368.88 they charged to my card and are telling me that they cannot change the delivery address and would need to cancel the order and place a new order with the new address which would then place me at the back of the queue to get this freezer.

Home Depot cannot give me a date of when I might receive this item because understandably with the pandemic many people have been trying to get freezers and manufacturers cant keep up. It is extremely bad service to not be able to change an address on an item which has been paid in full. Having moved i have had to change my address with many businesses, the majority I was able to do online without having to engage a customer service representative.

This is unacceptable and I don't understand how anyone deals with this company and their very customer unfriendly processes. Due to the pandemic and the scarcity of this product during this time it is unreasonable and unfair to require cancellation of an item which has been back ordered in order to change the delivery address.

Buying an appliance? I'm an idiot, I guess. I bought a new LG washing machine at The Home Depot, Southlake, TX on 10 July 2020. Delivery scheduled for 04 August 2020 (delay due to Covid-19, of course). The delivery folks would not remove my old washer from its pedestal nor install the new washer on the old pedestal. The Southlake store says they told me this was the case when I bought the new machine. I guess I'm stupid, and so is my wife. We do not remember being told this, and it seems if I were told this, I probably would have done something about it at the time of purchase. Now, I've got a new washer on the floor and I've got to figure out how to get my existing pedestal underneath it.

Make sure, dear consumer, that when purchasing an appliance at The Home Depot that things like this are clear and you understand what's going to happen at delivery before you buy your appliance. If you don't, you're going to be stuck with resolving the problem yourself. You'll get no reasonable resolution from your friendly Home Depot folks.

Back in Aug. 2018, I purchased Jeldwen french doors from Home Depot in Somerville, MA. When they arrived, they were the wrong size and the workmanship was shoddy. Also, the screen I paid for was missing. It's been 3 months now and I still have not received the screen. They keep blaming Jeldwen saying they cant get a responce from them. Yet they continue to sell Jeldwen products. I paid Home Depot for this screen, and they have not delivered my purchase to me. I have been back to the store several times, and even demanded to see a store manager. After a half hour of waiting, one finally showed up. I don't think she was at the store when they were repeatedly paging her. She said she would get back to me the next day. That was a month ago. I went back to the store 3 days ago, only to be told the person who handles this was not in and would get back to me the next day. NO one got back to me. Forget about trying to call them. They either dont answer, or put you on hold for hours. I paid a contractor exta money to refit the openig for the doors, and I will have to pay to have him come back again to install the screen if I ever get it! I just want what I paid for! I would like to be able to open the french doors I bought without insects flying into my house!

Would really like to thank you for wasting both months of my time and now thousands of my dollars. Everything about getting new floors was a disaster now after waiting for well over a month for the product to be picked back up for return im being told its unsellable and I wont get any money back. This was nearly 4000 dollars in my money down the drain. Might not seem like alot to you but im a disabled veteran and I live on a fixed budget. this was nearly a months income that I saved for this. I came to you guys because I had previously had good luck in your stores, but now I will never step foot in a home depot again. I will urge my brother and sister veterans at the local VFW to shop at lowes. I will do everything in my power to make sure people know.

Fool me once shame on you, you wont fool me twice because you will never get a dime of my business ever again.

This all started back in march when I got hardwood for my house. then your installers tell me they cant install it with the subfloor I have , then after complaining they say they can, then they cant. finally I give up cancel the order and have carpet installed. However John at the arnold home depot took well over a month to even get the flooring picked up. i moved the flooring from the house to the garage. John calls me after pick up that it is covered in animal urine and chewed up. well one box was opened by the installers I dont know about chewed up maybe banged up from being moved as far as urine it wasnt coveredi n it when we moved it to the garage. It doesnt really matter at this point, it shouldnt take a month to set up a return on a product. maybe if he had done his job the day we had these issues I wouldnt be sending this email right now. But as it stands im contemplating legal action, calling my local news teams and probably going to be out in front of the store with a protest sign tomorrow. I am a disabled vet this is a lot of money to me and I have nothing better to do than sit in the front of the store and tell every single person who will listen just how you ripped me off . I wont give up nor will I back down. The ball was dropped so many times and at so many levels that if anyone had done their job right the first time we wouldnt be having this converstation.

I have two toilets but they keep clogging all the time, therefore, after searching around, I found out American Standard Powerwash is the best for clogging problem and they are very high rating. Though Home Depot doesn't have those styles in their stores, I have to make a special order online. After a weeks I got my order and have an acquaintance installed for me(we haven't paid him yet, but I called around and the cheapest one charge $250 each, and therefore, we decided to pay him that amount) After Installing, and I started using and found out these products not good as the ads from American Standard officially youtube website, the flush not that strong, and the tanks were too small. I do little research and check the box they sent to me and found out that they send the same brand, styles but the model numbers are completely different. I search online and the one they sent to me the one a lot cheaper than and around $135. I came to their store and asked for that and they said I have to bring to their store for a refund since I have already installed and about to pay $500 for the installation fee, and they denied to install for me if I bought the right one. So, if I ordered the new one, I have to pay for another $500 to install, else keep those wrong s**t ones. I don't believe this was a mistake since this is "special order" and it was an online order, not a telephone order, and the word "POWERWASH"(the one I want) completely different with FloWise(the one they sent). What a smart trick either way if you return to them, you will lose $500 if you keep them, you have to stand for s* products. Good job Home Depot!

This is a simple rip off. one day one of my two springs broke on my Clopay garage door. A simple repair since I Installed the door myself some 15 year ago. Call Clopay at 1800-225-6729 and they told me i had to go through Home Depo to wrder the part. Unfortunately I went to Home depo to order the part and when they call Clopay they told him I nedded the receipt and date of purchase (15 years ago) model number ( not in the book that came with the garage door) andif i had that information they may be able to special order something for an unknown price. Even though i had the meadurements for the spring they were unable to do anything except sell me a new door. this is the second time I've ordered something from Home Depo and when i needed to replace a paart on the product, I was unable to find a part number or order the part. It is a shame that wecannot fix things in American and just replace it at the prophet of Clopay and Home Depo. Beware that if you buy Clopay and need parts you will be out of luck and a garage door!_

Purchased a quart of paint and had it mixed to my specifications. Checked out with can in my hand and no bag.

Placed can on my passenger fron seat. Drove two miles when can tipped over and spilled over my entire car. The cover had not been secured by the man whpo mixed the paint. Drov e back to Home Depot. The namager Mary Landers had an employee clean up the puddle of paint on the passenger front seat so that it would not spill when being towed, Had the car towed to the dealer and had to rent a car.

Home depot, being self insured has a company investigating their claims. Vivian Segwick of that company stated that because I had not "secured" the can of paint, they were not liable. Obviously id did not matter that the cover was not secured. I did not know I was required to "secure" the can of paint. This is not even a questionable matter, It was clearly obvious that the cover was not secured properly unless someone can define "secured" as stated by Home Depot.

The Tulare Home Depot store attempted to rip me off for $79 shipping for a item that cost $5.67, weighed under 1 lbs and would fit in a minimum sized postal box. The atempted fraud was at least $70 over what would have been reasonable.

I tried to return a set of 3 blades that go to a multi tool that were $44 i had no receipt. they take my id scan it and say i was denied. so i grab a friend do the same thing and was denied. then i grab my boyfriend who hasnt returned anything in 5 years and he was denied. so i called the number on the denial receipt and the reason for denial was for not having a receipt. now does that make any sense

I tried to order online & had a hard time. I called the online call center & placed the order. My email confirmation had my name misspelled & the delivery address wasn't correct. I immediately called back. Nothing could be changed until the morning. I spent hours trying to correct it. Finally the order was cancelled. I couldn't reorder because it was too late to get the necessary day. Also my money was gone! I was required to wait until the refund went through. During this whole process I received a lot of misinformation, spent hours on the phone & received the Royal runaround. Home Depot checks receipts at the door. But Home Depot is unable to provide receipts for major appliances!!!!!

These people click-bait by offering information for $1.00 and then start a monthly charge of $18.95 for around $500.00 or $600.00 dollars.I disputed it with my card company and they charged it again. There was no contact information until I spoke to card services who gave me the phone numbers for a call center in Montgomery Alabama who then told me they would not return my money without a third party call with them and my bank.I asked to speak to a supervisor and they told me I was not eligible to speak to a supervisor. My card company will take 5-7 days to fix this and have suggested I replace my card. This is a huge inconvienience to me so I will have to wait. However, that's what they pulled last month and they charged again this month anyway. They try to present as a legitimate service but they only provide

Yesterday 5/4/2016, I went to the Loganville location to ask Customer Service about their return policy. I spoke with a blonde woman behind the desk between 12-1pm. She advised me it would depend on the item I was returning. I explained it was a lawn mower and I no longer had my receipt. The nice lady said, "You have 60 days and we can look up your information by the card you used."Needless to say, I returned the next day and was told the policy was 30 days. I explained to the new customer service manager and an additional manager what happened. They asked me to describe the lady, which I did. Although, they said no one there matches the description. I asked them to check their video footage, which they declined. The store manager returned my call at 5:54p.m to say they will not honor the misrepresentation of this fictional employee I made up. Mind you they have the video footage to prove what I am saying. As a business owner myself, this is unacceptable. Never will I shop here again!!

December 2015 Home Depot West Hills, CA Rep from Rustoleum was at HD recommended to use #44000 Restore (Mfg. by Rustoleum) on our 8500 Sq Ft Driveway in West Hills, CA Paint cement driveway - says Restore is the best.

Where is that rep? We have emailed managers at Home Depot and Rustoleum and get very evasive answers.

Had to go to more than 5 different stores to find more #44000 Restore - they kept pulling it off the shelf before my job was done on driveway. Even opened a Corporate account because we purchased so much paint at the Vanu Nuys, CA store.

Now - paint is chipping and peeling and I just want my driveway to look decent. This communication is ongoing for approx the last 6 weeks and I think they just want to IGNORE us, or swish us away.

They say they are unable to sell this product in LA County. They will send it to us becasue we live in Ventura County to put another coat and we have in writing that they wlll send us 44each -4 Gallon containers (weight56#s each) + tools to apply.

When we agree we would take the paint they changed their offer.

We paid a Worker $7000 included product for a crappy looking driveway - chips, peeling - color came out wrong.

Rustoleum people in Ill, stated not illegal to sell in Ventura County and they would get it to us. Fine - we have a written statement.

Now - they want to send something else - 30 - 1 gallon containers of something else that would take 4 different processes to apply and we are doing this ourselves because we already invested $7,000 - way over budget.

We just want to take care of this and go on with our life!!!

I purchased 2 appliances online (refrigerator and dishwasher), which went on sale the day they were delivered. I contacted customer serivice and they will not honor the sale price. All sale prices are good for 30 days. All I got was "no credit due" without an explaination as to why. Home Depot sent me the appliance sale email of the exact models I bought. So why? I do not know.

I hired Home Depot and pre-paid them over $8000 to install tile throughout my condo. I am doing a complete renovation. My order called for Sanibel white tile with Alabster grout and 5.25 inch baseboard throughout the home.

The materials for the installation arrived a few days before work was to commence. I checked the materials and they were all correct including buckets of pre-mixed alabaster grout. I met the installation company that they hired, USIG, at the site the day the installation was to take place. I confirmed the details of the order and the installation with a manager who was present. The installer told the manager that he did not like the grout that was pre-mixed because it was not easy to work with and dries too fast. The manager asked me if he could switch out the grout and i told him that he could as long as he made sure it was alabaster.

I told him this because at one point the installation team at USIG changed the order to Grey and i had to call and get that corrected. That is why i was so diligent about checking on the grout.

Since the toilets all had to be removed and there was much construction dust, my family headed to Sarasota for 4 days. When I got a call that the baseboard was going to be going in the next day i made plans to travel back to Fort Myers to inspect the work on Friday of the following week (7 days later)

On Thursday, the day before I planned to return i gave the Lockbox code to another contractor who was going to work on a shower installation. He called me at 4:00 on Thursday and told me that my condo was flooded. I went down and started trying to dry the place out. That is when i saw that they had installed Gray Grout instead of Alabaster. They had also splashed mortar all over the wall on the lanai and in other places. Coincidentally that mortar matched the splashes in the kitchen where they had turned on the water and used a sink they were not supposed to use.

While cleaning up, they went under the sink and turned the water on at the shut off. they were careful not to let water go down the drain because they saw that the trap was not connected to a drain. But they never turned off the water under the sink at the shut off. The faucet had not had a complete hook up and dripped for 2 days, ruining my cabinets and flooding the drywall in two rooms.

Home Depot immediatley stopped talking to me and referred me to their in-house claims department (different name, but housed under thier corporate office location).

AFter a careful investigation (performed by the installation company - Does that seem fair?) the claim was denied. They said that the damage was caused by my other contractor who did not even have access to the property during the days of thier installation. They also said that the grey grout is what i selected even though i sent them the original order with alabaster on it. They claim department stood behind USIG, the installation company and i am going to be in financial ruin over this.

What can I do?

I purchased shaw carpeting from Home depot at the west side store in evansville indiana . Its been in my house a little more than a year and its losing fibers every time i vacuum little v shaped pieces annd colored fuzz . I called them they sent the original installers out they showed me how bad it really was by rubbing his hand back and forth he agreed some thing was not right .He took a piece a piece of new scrap carpet back with him i told him this was not representative of the problem i was experiencing but this is what the Home depot store asked for they sent in the new carpet and naturally they found nothing wrong with the sample. This because it had had no traffic on it .I had tried to pull fibers out of it before they took it my self Itold him this was not a good representation of the issue I was having He said he would pass it along to the store .The store did not pass this information to Shaw Carpet and they denied any problem with their carpeting.Home depot and Shaw carpeting are knowingly ripping coustomers off.THis needs to end with a class action law suite!!!!

On September 23, 2015 the purchase of 3/4 " hand scraped Hickory Tuscany hardwood flooring was purchased and ordered from the 3398 Highland Drive Home Depot. 33 boxes of hardwood floor planks were ordererd directly from the manufacturer Homeledgends in Adairsville, GA.

On October, 6th 2015 at approximately 10:06 AM a Home Depot delivery man delivered and brought all the product into my home at **** ** ****** **** ** in Taylorsville UT 84129. The boxes were cross-stacked out in the middle of my gutted kitchen and living room on 2" x 2" lumber as instructed in the guide.

My general contractor Frank Hellend of Hellend construction advised and arrived at my home to open boxes and air and acclimate the hardwood flooring as insturcted in the warrenty guide.

Acclimation was achieved 35-55% humidity and temperatures were between 60-70 degrees within 4 weeks.

Installation took place in November. Installation method was followed by nail/ cleat and glue since this is a tongue and groove plank.

By Christmas, random planks began to splinter and the finish was bubbling and deteriorating throughout the kitchen living room and hallway. Throw rugs were purchased by December 10th to ensure upkeep and avoid scratches on the floor. NOTE****** steps tread and risers were purchased and installed at the same time but purchased at a different store with a different company in Salt lake City, and there is not indication of the same defect on the surface of the wood.

A claim was filed in February of 2016 through Rebecca a COS representative at Home Depot on Highland Drive. 2-3 weeks went by and no contact or follow up was made by Home Depot. I then contacted Home Depot 2-22-16 @2:45PM and spoke with a Billy where I left a voice mail message.

On 2-23-16 I called again and spoke with a Casey at approximately 10 AM who re-directed again to Billy who advised that I needed to sign documents and provide pictures for further documentation to the claim. On 2-23-16 I drove to the store to provide necessary information the store requested. I was assured all documentaion was faxed and emailed to the claims department and corporate offices.

On 3-14-16 I contacted home depot at the highland store again explained my issues and demanded someone from the store come to my home to see the continued deterioration of the hardwood floor and further explained that this issue appeared to be sweept under the carpet and forgotten. After he inspected the floor, took pictures, and promised he would follow up with me within the day.

On March, 14, I received a phone call from a Michael Cone, (supposedly and independent inspector) that was commissed by Homelegends to inspect the damages and faulty floor finish. From 1:30-2:30 PM that afternnoon, Mr. Cone took pictures, measured humidity and temperatures in the home but upstairs and downstairs, asked me questions, took notes, made a report and reported back to Home depot and Homelegends.

I did not hear back from Rebecca untill March 29th with the below repport. Branden the assistant manager never called me back or returned any of my calls since he was on vacation.

As you can read below, now it is in the hands of home depot and homelegends. It is now April 7, th and still no call back, no follow up. I have left Rebecca messages on her phone at home depot and have not heard back her or from anyone regarding this hardwood floor falling apart daily neither Rebecca, Branden(assistane manager) or Home depot corporate offices.

I bought a washer/dryer unit from home depot and asked them to install it. They said that they would have to charge me for all new connectign hardware and that they would install it. When they came to install the unit the installers said that they had installed the machine and it would be hotter than normal when we ran the drier. Luckily there was a leak in the water supply, so I called a plumber to fix the leak. I found out that the vent hose from the drier was not connected to the vent and it was just hanging loose behind the unit, which is located in a closet. I live in a condo unit and it would have been a fire hazard if the lint had collected behind the unit. I called the installers and they referred me to the home depot where I bought the unit. I called the local store and they referred me to their mainland department. I called their mainland department and they told me that they do not connect the vent. I looked at the vent and found out that the installers had ripped out the connecting hose to the vent which is located in the wall. I had to cut my wall to connect the vent because the installers had ripped the hose too short. I have not recieved any reply from Home Depot since that time.

I had a credit card from home depot. I paid them out in full and then I got a notice I owned them $35.00 I paid the $35.00 and the next month another notice and they were paid and then the next month 35.00 and I paid them when the 4th notice came I called them and I had the canceled checks in my hand, They told me if I dont pay them I will be placed into collection. which they did.

The other day I was searching for unclaimed moneys and here are 3 $35.00 refunds Homedepot owed me. I had cut up my homedepot card and I didnt know the account number. They wanted my old telephone number which I didnt remember then they wanted my Social Security Number which I refused to give them But they managed to find me. Home depot told me I was sent into collection but didnt have the name of the collection agency but was going to give me their number so I could call.

I applied for the unclaimed but they take a percentage out for adminstration fees. I was charged interest when paying home depot so I am penalized not once but several times and Home depot tarnished my credit.

In early December of 2015, I ordered a kennel online from Home Depot. Before making the purchase, I actually went to the Valdosta Georgia and Lake City Florida locations attempting to buy this in person (or at least see it before I bought it ) but was finally told in Lake City it was only available online. I am legally blind and confined mostly to a wheelchair from a stroke. This kennel was to house a service animal for short periods in the event I am hospitalized etc and can not take my dog with me. When the kennel arrived, I paid a local man to put the kennel together for me. I later realized it was NOT 6ft as advertised. It wasnt even 5ft tall on the outside panels. As I am not physically able to break down the kennel myself, I thought Home Depot may actually WANT to know the item is being falsely advertised and was hopingthey would make the purchase right.

I sent in a contact form just before the holidays and expained my problem and made them aware I was bline, that I did not drive and that I was bound to a wheelchair. I asked for a Home Depot representative to come "look" at the kennel as now the "outside kennel" which had been outdoors for less than a month was rusting in several spots and the welded wire was appearing to give way. I believed this to be a manufactuerers error and NOT Home Depot's fault (at first) and really and truly thought someone would come see this kennel first hand. I did however have the original receipt, shipping, tracking, delivery confirmation and even pictures of the kennel being assembled. I received a voice mail from a woman by the name of Lastarr Johnson (a Resolution Expeditor) as I had missed her call. I immediately tried calling her back and got her voicemail then ( and the rest of the day) Her message had said she would try to call me back after the holidays. When we didn't make contact that day,I began trying to reach her again on Monday 1/4/2016. My messages went unanswered. I left a message late in the evening that if I didn't hear from her on Tuesday 1/5/2016 that I would assume they had no interest in correcting the problem.

They DO have an interest.... her email to me on Tuesday am pretty much is hey blind crippled guy, box it up and shipit back and if we agree with you then it acceptable as a return. Not in those words honestly but no human emotion, no help...knowing Im NOT physically ABLE to break down this kennel and pack/ship this box.

I was sold a Ariens riding lawnmower 2 years ago. I have come to find out thru multipul breakdowns and Home Depots refusal to warranty because the reciet had been misplaced. Depot claimed to be able to look up these transactions, but when I tryed to get them to they denied the fact I even purchased it there. I contacted the factory nurmous times and they said home depot dosnt sell that model.

I have been calling home depot for the past 2 years as well as the manufacturer with no results other than they both denied the sale.

this past month while cleaning out the garage I found the reciept, but the lenth of time it took to find it combined with the fraudualant denials of the sale by home depot has caused the warranty that I should have had to expire.

This has been the worst experence I have ever had with a retailer failing to stand behind the products they sell.

I have spent over $500 trying to keep the piece of junk going and in between I have had to pay for mowing services to keep the city off my back when the rider broke.

Within the Office of the Attorney General for the state of Ohio, I have filed a Consumer complaint against Home Depot (Home Depot HDE) for what I believe are deceptive and fraudulent business practices.

Home Depot (The Home Depot HDE, Home Depot), serving as the Roof Contractor, failed to exercise 'due diligence' to discover reasonably foreseeable physical conditions, by refusing to visually inspect the roof decking from the interior of the attic. The attic is accessible, has a finished floor and an exposed attic ceiling, allowing for the safe entry and visual inspection of the roof deck material and deck structure. The Sales person was informed that the roof deck was planks and invited, on numerous occasions, to enter the attic to visually inspect the roof deck material, structure and the condition of the deck planks. Yet, on each occasion, the Sales person declined the invitation and declined to visually inspect the exposed roof deck.

Also, approximately a month later, before the start of the roof installation, the Installation Manager was informed by the Home Owner that the roof deck was that of planks, and also, the Installation Manager was invited to the attic to visually inspect the exposed deck, yet, this invitation was also refused.

Home Owner in an attempt to limit any unforeseen conditions, exercised due diligence in informing the Sales person and the Installation Manager that the roof deck was that of planks. Also, the Home Owner exercised due diligence to expose any unforeseen conditions by inviting the Sales person and the Installation Manager to enter the interior of the attic to visually inspect the roof deck plank, roof deck structure and the condition of the roof deck planks.

Home Depot had a duty to perform a reasonable inspection of the site to determine the existing conditions. Yet, Home Depot willful conduct not to perform a reasonable inspection negated their due diligence and therefore, Home Depot created what they claim as 'unforeseen conditions'.

The deck condition, the type of deck material, and the deck structure could have been reasonable discovered if Home Depot exercised due diligence to visually inspect the exposed deck from the interior of the attic space.

Home Depot removed and damaged a large section of the Home Owner's roof, and then requested more money due to what they now claim as 'unforeseen conditions'. Home Depot strong armed the Home Owner to either pay this additional cost or face the roofers being pulled off the job, leaving damaged roof exposed to inclement weather, allowing for the damaged and exposed roof to face the approaching winter months, and also, the forfeiture

of the deposit. Home Owner entered a contract ($5,282.00) with Home Depot(Home Depot HDE) for the installation of roof shingles, and paid the required deposit($1321.00) to initiate the contract. The forced supplemental agreement pushed the final contract cost to $7888.00.

In an attempt to secure and maintain a positive financial credit score, Homeowner paid Home Depot in full. And, now in full discovery of Home Depot illegal, deceptive and fraudulent business practice to strong-arm additional money, Home Owner has filed a Consumer complaint within the Ohio Office of the Attorney General, Better Business Bureau and other online Consumer advocacy groups to exposed these illegal, deceptive, and fraudulent business practices that violates protected Consumer Rights.

Home Owner is requesting that Home Depot (Home Depot HDE) refund monies illegally gained from the additional cost as outlined in the Contract Amendment, which charges for what Home Depot claim as unforeseen conditions. Therefore, the Homeowner is requesting to be refunded in the amount of the Contract Amendment of two thousand six hundred and six dollars ($2606.00).

In addition, the unprofessional and unskilled manner in which the installation of the Home Owner’s roof caused unnecessary destruction and damages to the breakage of the vent pipe extending through the roof, destruction of shrubs, decorative plants, the removal and destruction of mature rose bushes and the damage of rain gutters. The Installation District Manager and the Installation Manager came out to the site/property to view these damages. The Installation District Manager verbally agreed to 1)replace the top rain gutters complete around the top of the house, 2)agreed to have the venting pipe repaired, and 3)agreed to offering Homeowner with a 200 dollars gift certificate for destroyed and damaged plants. However, all follow-ups with the District Installation Manager were either ignored or dismissed, and later, the verbal agreement changed to limit what was originally agreed upon. I have researched to approximate the cost of damages to be two thousand dollars ($2000.00). Therefore, I am asking that Home Depot compensate our lost in the amount for these damages.

The damages against my property, such that the gutters are pulled significantly from the fascia boards to allow for cold air to enter our home, impacting our home to provide heat at a reasonable temperature, potentially raising our heating bill. The damaged to the ventilation pipe extending through the roof has been broken from on top of the roof, and tape has been applied by the Installation Manager, yet the tape has come loose and there is moisture where possible rain is entering from the roof top. Also, I have written Home Depot about a shingle that blew off my roof top, and as of today, I have not received a response from Home Depot.

I had a Home Depot/Citi Bank Credit Card for 7 years and maintained perfect credit. I made a purchase and unknowingly was just 1 day late returning item past my due date on my credit card. I was signed up for paperless statements and all my contact information was correct and updated yet I was NEVER notified that my account was incurring late fees and intrest charges for 4 months amounting to 97.90. It took my Capital One Credit Trackor to notify me that my Home Depot Credit Card was reporting as Deliquent dropping my Credit Score by 60 Points!!! I immediatly phoned Home Depot Customer Service and Spoke with a Gentleman and He admitted to me that he had many complaits that other credit card holders had the same problems of not getting their statements and incurring massive late fees and intrest charges. He gave me a small credit and gave me a number to phone the Head Credit Department to Have my Credit Report reversed and possible refund of charges. I phoned them the next day and spoke with the Head of the Credit Account Dept. and told them I had not received any correspondance or billing or phone call and all my information was correct and up to date on their website and no excuse for no contact with me and allowing my account to go into delinquent status and incurring all those BOGUS charges. She bragged about the very small credit the man had given me the previous night and I told her it wasn't charity or polite to brag about returning money when a THEIF steals money and returns a few dollars. She stated that they had done nothing wrong and refused to correct my credit report or reverse the BOGUS charges. I have 7 other credit cards and am signed up for paperless billing with all of them and have Never missed one stated from any of them and all my utilities are also paperless billing and never once a problem with them or my banking statements. Just HOME DEPOT and their BOGUS BILLING PRACTICES. They are THEIVES and LIARS and no better than the people who break into your home. She gladly and happily closed my account upon my request and I told her I would Never set foot back into a Home Depot store ever again. I have made major Appliance and Lawn Equipment Purchases from them and I pray I never have to use the warranty. Again, Home Depot Never sent me one Email, Paper Statement, Phone call or made any contact with me of any kind over these continuing charges and reported my account as deliquent to the credit bureau and it took Capital One to let me know my Home Depot account was deliquent over Bogus Charges. They are THEIVES and LIARS and the Credit Dept just added insult to injury. I had perfect credit and now I have a negative report on my credit thanks to their SCAM. I am not their only VICTIM and hopefully their will be a class action law suit one day for their illegal billing practices. THEIVES and LIARS. Don't buy from Home Depot they are corrupt in more ways than one.

I am a contractor and I make (made) frequent purchases at Home Depot. One reason is that it is convenient to be able to buy whatever I may need to get a job done, including items to cover contingencies, rather than make multiple return trips for missed or forgotten items. I can then return the extra items without worrying.

I am in there several times a week and I purchase on average about 500-800 per week or 25000/year or more.

Yesterday I was told I could not return a box of Ledgerlock bolts because I didnt have the receipt and Home Depots third party refund screening service determined that they shouldnt refund my money. In the past I had been given store credit if I did not have a receipt. I was given a slip of paper with a case number and told to call the 3rd party service who after some discussion agreed with me that there was nothing they could do for me and agreed that the call was a waste of time.

They wouldnt even let me talk to a store manager, as they said he could do nothing.

I wont be going back. We have a great hardware store in town and a great lumber company with full service. They actually want my business and stand by their return policies and dont hide behind an anonymous third party to allow or deny refunds based on who knows whaty. Good job Home Depot, youve lost my business forever.

While searching for a new refridgerator with my wife at the local Home Depot store here in Las Cruces, nm. We found the most adorable side by side Refridgerator and purchased it on the spot. We also purchased the extended warranty by asurion. They required a additinal $80.00 dollars for a delivery fee.

The refridgerator arrived a few days later and was banged up pretty good. While ther was one small scratch on the front door. There were several dings and missing paint on all four sides. I was told it would be taken care of by the driver and it was left outside in the weather for me to drag in the house. I only have the use of one arm and my wife cant lift this thing. The Home Depot refused to install it.

I went to the stotre and Talked to Ivan in the appliaaaances department. He told me there was nothing I could do. He handed me two bottles of touch up paint. I asked him would that be enough?

I then called the manager Dianna S.

She informed that if they damaged it in the store there was nothing I could do as it was sold "As Is". Not what my reciet said. Not what I was told when Ivan sold it to me. So now I have this abused refridgerator my wife refuses to part with.

I called Assurion and was told the warranty basically covers nothing. I was told anything that happened to the refridgerator was covered by the protection plan we also purchased. I was told to contact the manufacturer and purchase new doors. Since the doors were bent.

This is absolutely a horrible way to do buisness. The machine had one small scratch when I bought it. By the pictures below you will see it was treated poorly after purchase.

Home Depot sells warranties for generators and will tell you if you have ANY problem bring it back and they will repair or replace as needed. When you have a problem they then proceed to tell you all that isn't covered. The list is extensive. it includes all moving and non moving engine parts. Then all electrical parts all hoses, wiring and any item that could be considered a "wear" item, including the start rope. I asked what is covered then, the case? I was told if that was damaged it would be abuse and not covered. An employee asked if I want the truth. I said yes. He said NOTHING is covered. I paid $160.00 for a piece of paper. Many employees think this is funny. Some empathetic employees feel sorry and then tell you "never buy their warranties " they are a rip off!

Solar City won't stop calling me. Sending me texts, leaving me messages and my home phone as well. Solar City is desperate to dominate the solar market with an inferior product and counter productive financing. Solar City... Since you put my name on your calling list, which I never authorized you to do at Home Depot when I asked for an appointment (which I believed was confidential), you are now going to get from me what you deserve.

First, I'm at the Home Depot with my mom and we get approached from a friendly guy representing Solar City at Savi Ranch complex in Ahaheim, Ca. We set up an appointment for my mom's home, so we fill out a form for the person to show up. Then, I was asked if I was looking for solar, too and I said as a matter of fact I was. The guy said to fill out my address above my moms so that the sales representative could check out my address to see if I'm eligable when she shows up at my mom's house while I'm there.

I live an hour and a half away from my mom! So, the guy gave the slip of paper with my mom's info and my info on top and explained to her that she is to go to my mom's address at that date. I said, that I have to drive a long way to be there with her and help her out, because she is elderly and needs my imput. They agreed.

I drove to my mom's and I got a text from Jackie. She said that she was out front at the gate. I said, "What gate?" - Jackie accidentally showed up at my home instead of my mom's house! I canceled the appointment with her via text and said, "Never mind, its a no go."

Then, next thing i know, I'm getting texts on my personal cell phone from several other representitives from Solar City. Then, I'm getting phone calls in my land line in my home! I never gave them that number! Its gotten to the point of harrasment.

So, I decided that if their customer service is unorganized, then how is their solar? I looked it up and found out that its financially counter productive! You are not saving a dime!!!

Friday, Oct. 2 my wife went to Home Depot (store #0650) to return left overs from our remodel project, the store credit/gift card was issued in aprox. $176 and my wife purchased some laundry detergent for aprox. $15. Next day I went to HD to buy something I needed for aprox. $6 (I have all receipts.) Monday, Oct. 4 I went to HD to get some more materials and with loaded shopping cart stopped at register to pay. To my surprise I found out that that Store Credit/gift card has $0 balance... I asked for a Store Manager and she was able to pull-out transactions from that card. Two of last transactions were made on Oct. 3 and 4 in total amount of $155 by someone in different store #1846, with card being in my possession all the time. Manager suggested to go to that store (in W. Sacramento) because transactions took place there. Next day I went to that Store and spoke to Store Manager. He got transaction info, my info and said that he will speak with Store security to check the surveillance video. Also said that they will call me back probably next day. Since then I did not get any calls from anyone about that matter. Here what I believe that card only could be copied by Store employee (probably by the one on "Returns" register) It's easy to take picture of card (for card # including pin) and keep for customer with high returning balance and issue that (pictured) card. Home Depot Store credit/gift card they issue on returns has exposed pin code on it, very easy to still it and customer is unprotected. Please help to resolve this.

I ordered an outdoor fridge for my new outdoor kitchen. It wasn't packaged adequatley so it arrived damaged with a large dent in the face of the door. I called customer service to return the fridge and request a replacement and they told me I had to package it in the original box so that UPs could pick it up in 3-5 business days. I explained the original box it arrived in was damaged during shipment and unpacking; it would not be feasible to reuse. They stated that I would have to personally deliver the fridge to a local store. I dont have a vehicle that would fit the fridge so that was not an option. At this point, customer service was not willing to help, so I may just be out of luck.

Ripped off $120.00 from rebate advertisement during the Labor Day Paint and Stain Sale at Home Depot in Osage Beach, Mo. They offered from 9/3/2015 – 9/7/2015, $40.00 off of 5 gallon buckets of paint, stain, waterproof sealer, etc… and $10 off 1 gallon cans, both offers ofcourse in the form of a rebate. And anyone purchasing this stuff knows it is not cheap, I needed to redo my deck so I purchased Behr solid stain, which was included in the rebate types being offered. Everyone purchasing any types of these products knows how expensive it is.

And I lost a lot of money a few years back when purchased deck restore and ended up being pulled off shelves and a nationwide lawsuit on it and my deck was a mess with the false advertisement on it but I did not have my receipt any longer and was just screwed for all I spent then.

So stripped my deck and needed to redo, when I should not have had to for years yet. So went to Home Depot in Osage Beach, Mo., purchased during the rebate offer, actual date was 9/6/15. They had a big turn out and did not have the 3 – 5 gallon buckets and had to order them. I made sure I asked if I still get the rebate, they said yes ofcourse, you are buying during the rebate sale, not your fault we do not have it on hand and turn out was more than expected. So I proceeded to purchase and pay for the 3- 5 gallons and 2-1 gallons for the rails, even tho the project had to be delayed and had to make another trip 30-40 miles one way once it came in. But did pay for it all and left with the 2 gallons for the rails and the couple small things needed, brush and some tape, it came up to $496.58, almost 500 dollars. So doing the math – 40 dollars back on a 5 gallon x 3 = $120.00 and 10 dollars back on a gallon x 2 = $20 for a total of = $140 rebate. They sent me a $20 dollar rebate for the 2 – 1 gallons and that is it !!!

Went online for my rebate and checked on it, and saw they only made it for the $20 instead of the $140 ($40 x the three 5 gallons = $120 SHORT. So I started calling, had to call several times since Labor Day and each time was informed the same thing – has been turned over to supervisor, should receive a call with in a couple days – and repeat and repeat and repeat. Then today the agent tried same thing and informed him been going through this for 6 wks or whatever, said he would talk to supervisor and put me on hold – came back and then had to try every excuse he could come up with: knew could not say it was not turned in on time, so tried the - that product was not offered in the rebate – wrong answer. You issued me the $20 for the 2 – 1 gallons of the same stuff. Plus I asked prior to purchasing It, to make sure, and I kept the flyer for proof it was eligible. So the next excuse was, oh well, it was special ordered – wrong answer – it was not special ordered, it was ordered for me because the store did not have anymore on hand in the store because of the turn out that wkend, and I was told the rebate would still be honered because I was purchasing and paying for the product during the rebate sale. They just did not have enough products on the shelf. So then there was no more excuses he could come up with, and I was pretty much told – sorry for your loss. We are not honoring our advertisement on the money we owe you. False advertisement and thieves. All the work and money I had to do to strip the mess I had from all the money I spent there on the other stuff that ended up being recalled and a nation wide lawsuit but I no longer had receipt they said they needed, but that was the company not the stores responsibility, even tho I paid the store for it all.

I would not have not made this purchase if it did not offer the rebates, I could not really afford it and only did it due to the rebate offers, otherwise I could not have, but needed to get my deck protected and thought they would honor what they were advertising but I totally got screwed. So gave me $20 on the 2 – 1 gallons (the $10 back on each gallon) and said they were not giving me the $120 they owe me for the three 5 gallons. Guess I am just suppose to go away and be happy with the 20, Wow, can not believe this.

And not only this but a few years ago purchased a refridgerator, stove and over the stove microwave during Black Friday Sale and then got ripped off on rebate promised. Had to keep calling and argue that, once again did not receive what I should have and what was advertised when I made the purchase!

Anyone else have this problem please contact me. A copy of this is on its way to a couple places now. It does not even have to be about the same issue, perhaps you were screwed another way, lets all take it to the next steps. I am an honest hard working person and only expected for them to honor their ad and give me the rebate they offered – not to steal my money and tell me to go away. Please reply and if we all work together perhaps we can make a difference.

I purchased a home security cameras and DVR from Home Depot with store credit and my credit card. I found out when I got home that the system would not work . Returning the unopened carmera system to Home Depot for a refund, I was told that I couldn't get a refund because I had used the store credit to purchase the camera system. I would have to wait 60 days before I could do anything or get a refund. Since when is it that you can't use the store credit to buy something and get a refund if things don't work out? Holding my money 60 days is not lawful. Be very careful when dealing with Home Depot. They steal from you and they don't care about the customer.

March 2007. The most crazed salesman ever named Jim. And the store supported his price scam. They even trained the cashiers to scam. My first time In this new store mar 2007 Home depot Shakopee. I got some cheap black carpet 6 ft wide for my truch box. I think it was about $3 ln ft Not by sq ft. When I got to the cashier she some how over charged me 6 times the price on the display. The carpet was about $3 per lineal foot. (LN) I had 12 feet. So it would be $3 x 12 =$ 36 plus tax. But the cashier multiplied by the sq ft. 6x12 = 66. Then 66 x $3 = $198 plus tax. So I went to another cashier and got the same price. I went to the service counter and told them how this is wrong and I want a store manager. I went back to the carpet dept and took the price display off the carpet and was yelled at by a guy named Jim. He had fire in his eyes like a mentally disturbed drug addict. He blasted me with both barrel's about how I am ruining his display. He went on to say, "I am a millionaire and I know how to run a business and you know nothing". His eyes were getting red and he was foaming at the mouth. He refused to let me take the price display so I asked if he would copy the price on a paper. I took it back to the service counter but there was no store manager. Finally they sold me the carpet for the liniel foot price. As I was leaving the same guy named Jim was in front yelling loud at me " you know nothing about business". "I'm a business man and........." And other rantings. No manager ever came. I left the store and called the store manager but no answer. I left a message and my number. I never got a call. Its now been 9 years. Since then I have been to this store only because my company asked me too. They are irresponsible , unethical, rude.

I purchased a ridgid 12 volt drill in 2001 ( I still have the original receipt, that's the type of person I am) and had good service out of it untill the switch went bad. I took it to Home Depot and they had me take it to a service shop and they fixed it. They also gave me 2 new batteries. I was pleased with the repairs and having new batteries but they gave me no paperwork and at the same time did not inform me that I had to register the new batteries.

Well that brings it up to today when I started to have battery problems and I took it to the store and was told that they could not do anything because the drill and battery serial numbers did not match. To bad..

As I said before, that I'm one who keeps All paperwork so I know that I didn't get any or it would have been in my file. I also was not informed that the new batteries had to be registered because I got no paperwork..

I heard that if you yell loud and long enough Home Depot will take something back that they didn't even sell in their stores but they can't even honor their own warranties.

So now I have a pretty good drill with no batteries.. I guess I can hang it on the wall like a dead trophy.
