We have owned timeshares at Port O Call which is a community on HHI in the Shipyard Plantation. It is managed by Reba Mgmt but is overseen by Coral Resorts LLC. I have owned here for 15 years. As an owner, whenever you visit you get invited to an "owners meeting" supposedly to bring you up to date on what they have done with the community but its really to try and persuade you to pay them more money. We know this so we either don't go even with the $100 Visa card enticement or go and decline.

Well, this year when we were there on vacation, we went to one of these meetngs. I am always skeptical of these and my husband and I are on our guard. But this year, the salesman seemed different. Which should have been our first clue. He seemed sincere. Talked about his family, etc. Well, we already owned 2 timeshares. The Week is a Condo on the middle floor in the spring. Port O Call also has cottages. We have stayed there and loved them.

For the timeshare owners reading this, we own a week and a unit worth points. We also pay 2 memberships to RCI. Tarek's suggestion was to combine the ownership by relinquishing our Week thereby only paying 1 RCI membership. Good right? OK. Then he could get us a cottage which has 3 bedrooms. An upgrade to our 2 bedroom condo. For another $12,000, we could own a cottage. Also sounded good. We know what the cottages go for. So, then Tarek tells us we can use the cottage from mid august through mid june. Also ok with us because we dont need it in the summer. He tells us that we dont have to go through RCI because this cottage is there own inventory. We just have to call them and reserve the cottage we want as long as its available. I questioned him multiple times about this arrangement because it seemed unusual but I let it go. He told us lots of things and then pushes the contract in front of us, points to where to sign and initial and then the financial guy comes over and finalizes everything and we leave feeling so good. That this is going to work out great for us.

Well, I called Coral Resorts today to reserve our cottage for the spring and I'm told that I have to go through RCI. . Brittany and Laura have some kind of tag team thing going on. I initially spoke with Laura but when I asked to speak with the manager she transfers me to Brittany who tells me what Laura has already told me. When I asked Brittany who her manager was, she tells me Laura. They both work in owner services. All they kept telling me that I own fixed and that I will have to go through RCI to get any other time. I kept explaning to them what I was told by Tarek that I had a floating week and was told I could choose any week between august and june. Laura flatly refused to provide the name of her superior even though I asked repeatedly. She told me that I had 5 days to cancel the contract following its signing. That's not going to help us now. For 15 years we have been going to the same place for our family vacation and this company has swindled us into believing we we getting a better arrangment. They are not a company to be trusted. Beware of your dealings with them

I'm joining a class action lawsuit against this company. There are a multitude of complaints against them.

We purchased this timeshare in July of 2016. We were told that we would be able to spend two weeks at the Coral Sands Resort at 66 Pope Ave., Hilton Head Island, SC, for ten thousand points per week. However, when we tried to book a week for 2017 we were being charged eighty eight thousand points. And, if we try to use the points on another resort through RCI it’s going to cost us so much more points.

We are returning the product because we have been DEFRAUDED or TRICKED by the sales team of Coral Sands. We are seeking to file a lawsuit against Coral Sands and/or Hilton Head Island Development Company for FRAUD for the simple reason that we were NOT given accurate information during the sales process.

The sales agent led us to believe that we will be able to use the assigned unit two full weeks out of a year which we found out to be NOT the case when we tried to book a vacation. We have been misled and pressured by the sales agent, Caleb Shifflett. We were told that we would be able to use the POINTS we purchased to book the three bedroom unit shown to us two weeks during odd years, which is not the CASE! The points sold to us are only a fraction of what we would need to stay at the Coral Sands Resort or any RCI resort for that matter.

I would strongly suggest not to do business with Coral Sands Resort / Hilton Head Island Development Company.

Stay away from Coral Sands Resort. My husband & I were duped into believing that they were taking our old timeshare & exchanging for this one for $1100 difference. He also lied about the new timeshare. Apparently we bought points that only guarantees us a week once every three years! We were told that we had enough points for three vacations per year. That lie only applies if you can travel with total flexibility. We are limited since we have a school aged child. This timeshare is useless to us. Is there a way to get out of this nightmare?!

Coral Reports is nothing more than a ripoff! They will say anything to get that sale!! We were invited down for a preview of the property. We purchased a timeshare with the condition they would take ownership of my wifes timeshare from ARI. Corel Resorts told us they would buy it back and probably resell it or put in their name and pay the maintenance fees. After a year my wife got a call from a collection agency for over a year of maintenance fees. This arrangement was not put in writing because at the time of the deal which was on a weekend they could not get in told with the company. We are not stuck with two properties. Now I am unemployed and we cannot afford the $360 payment. We have been recieveing calls and letters from Coral Resorts and we are highly pissed.

Like many of the others on here, we were lied to in order to sell their product. Not one thing turned out to be true. We have 21,333 points per year and told that would be more than enough to stay anywhere anytime, not true. Bonus week to be used anytime, sevear limitations on it and basically worthless to us. We just used 2 years worth of points to book a 2 br for next year, for 5 nights and it still cost me $458.00. oh, i still will have to pay maintenance fees too.

The sales pitch was the best thing about all of it, good job.
