Beware! Craig Vaden of Briggs Law Firm is not valid! This is a ripoff! Do not believe his or any of his counterparts emails. There may be stated law statutes but it is a scare tactic. These emails are trying to get you to pay them even though you may know that you never did a loan! Most times the emails will say Federal Bureau but if you read closely it is not the Federal Bureau of Investigation or FBI!!

The debt would not be under Federal statue because it is not a federal crime. Best thing to do is file a report with the actual FBI and block the emails. You might also want to call your local police.

Affiliations: Judicial Circuit of United States of America Date: 08-10-2017 Plaintiff: United Personal Loan Reference#: GI457852 Description of Information: The case is to be registered in the court by August 10th, 2017 3:30 p.m. and will be executed in the court after 5 days. Our client United Personal Loan is a Finance Company claiming outstanding dues of a Pay Day Loan provided to their Client: You by administrative offset of account payable by the Government under section 9, chapter 19. Providing us, American Legal Processing Division a DIVISION OF FEDERAL CRIMES BUREAU, their legal representatives is pursuing to hold you in regards to six serious allegations, which are under the presumption of civil allegations. 1. Violation of Federal Banking Regulation Act 1956 2. Collateral check fraud 3. Breach of contract 4. Internet fraud 5. Theft by deception and 6. Violation of EFT that is Electronic Fund Transfer Act 1989 Now, these allegations were produced from the fact that you were being monitored online as well as tracked down by the Internet Prevention and Detection Department Internet Legal Research Group (I.L.R.G.]), using your email address in order to solicit funds from a website owned and operated by United Personal Loan. As per the records of A.L.P.D, this website is working under UNITED PERSONAL LOAN. The funds were successfully transferred into your bank account utilizing an interstate E.F.T. that stands for Electronic Fund Transfer, but when United Personal Loan tried to extract the funds back as repayment, there were 6 E.F.T’s returned, constituting a worthless electronic check and after several reminders, you did not bother to reply back. Therefore, instead of chasing you for money, United Personal Loan has decided to write off this money as the loss and deemed it to be stolen as well as press charges against you for Financial Fraud and Theft by deception. Henceforth, under Section-9, Chapter-19 they have filed the legal lawsuit against you. Under Section 31 U.S.C. 3716 the company can collect the funds before 7 years of the contract as per the federal government's right to collect the debt first accrued, except as otherwise provided by law. For you this means three things: 1. If you are on any state supervised probation on parole, you need to contact the officers and make them aware. 2. If you have any prior convictions including but not limited to worthless checks, grand theft, or money laundering please be aware, your case will be treated as a habitual offense because your state is a zero-tolerance state. 3. You do have a right to hire an attorney to take this matter inside the courthouse with the legal procedures. If you do not have one or you cannot afford one than one might be appointed to you, if you lose this case in the court then the legal charges will be levied upon you that will $ 8,483.67. These exclude your bail charges, your attorney charges, and the outstanding and principal amount you owe to the client. According to State Bar Association, your trial attorney's charges will be nothing less than $ 255 to $ 520 an hour. In addition, the court fee charges, legal affidavit cost, bail charges, stamp duty, and the outstanding amount that approximately comes around $ 17000 to $ 18000, which you have to bear. So, make sure that you do not lose the case. IRS Reporting Kindly find a 1099-C and W-9 and fill out required information along with your TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number). The IRS under Internal Revenue Code 6331(H) will monitor your matter to make sure that you report the amount as income. Even if you don't get a Form 1099-C from United Personal Loan, the United Personal Loan may very well have submitted one to the IRS. If you haven't listed the income on your tax return and the United Personal Loan has provided the information to the IRS, you could get a tax bill or, worse, an audit notice. This could end up costing you more (in IRS interest and penalties) in the long run. If you have any existing payment plan with the IRS, then it will be terminated under the section 30 AFIR code. Foreclosures and property repossessions: This rule applies even to debts you owe after a house foreclosure or property repossession, the IRS have each and every right to mark liens on your assets which includes your bank account, house, automobiles, shares, certificates or any government private bond will be totally ceased. All your known bank accounts will get frozen and confiscated, state id, debit cards and credit cards etc. and detained by the department of treasury. By forwarding the subpoena to social security any child support, disability, unemployment or retirement benefits will be either place on hold or will be stopped until the outcome of the case. In this situation, the law can seem especially cruel: Not only have you lost your property, but you will also have to pay income tax on the difference between what you originally owed the lender and what it was able to sell your property for. In addition, it might be possible that they also file a non-bailable arrest warrant for you for jail time. Sincerely, Michael Evans Senior Executive Briggs Law Firm

They are stating they are taking me to court for a loan from united personal loans from internet.

  • Sep 25, 2017

I was contacted on August 17, 2017. A Michael Evans sent me an email, stating that if I didn't pay the amount owed ($1250) by August 31, 2017, that my account would be filed with the Judicial Circuit Court of the United States of America. I contacted him to make arrangements for a payment plan. This has gone back and forth with several emails being exchanged.

Last week, he notified me that I would have to give him my Debit card information. Luckily for me, I did not have one. The bank had cancelled it due to fraudulent use by someone else. I told him this. He gave me another extension until September 23, 2017.

Then he notified me that I would have to send him a copy of the front and back of my debit card (after I had received my new one), a copy of my drivers license, and a promissory note, stating my payment installment plan. I told him I had no way to do that. He emailed me and stated that there was no way to keep my account out of court.

Today, it finally clinks in my stupid head, that this might be a scam. I go online to look up Briggs Law Firm, to contact them about this person, and my account. Imagine that the first thing under this search was SCAM. So here I am filing my report. I hope you can stop these people.

Keep receiving emails from David butler saying I owe $2500 to united personal loans. If I don't pay it will go to court and I will owe $8000 . Keeps threatening me to go to court and someone coming to my place of employment.

  • Sep 18, 2017

I don't owe the frauds anything. Not the first time I have had to deal with something like this. 1250.28 isn't coming out of my pocket for these people.

*Never even heard of them. Trying to tell me I owe 1250.28 for a personal loan I never took out. Never even heard of this place. If I don't pay up then it will be taken to court and interest will keep building. Enforcement mechanisms The following are the main ways of enforcing judgments: 1.Execution against goods (order from the court which directs the Sheriff or County Registrar to seize your goods and sell them in order to raise the amount of money which you owe plus costs.). 2. Installment orders, followed (if necessary) by committal orders. 3. Attachment of earnings. 4. Judgment mortgage.*

They are saying I owe a loan company in the amount of 1250.28. I've never even heard of the company they're referring to. They have said that they will get me fired from my job or garnish my wages and possessions. They also said I could possibly go to jail. Again, I've never heard of this company.

Received second message from someone who has my personal information claiming I took out a payday loan, untrue and bogus, and that they are filing with some sort of International Court, threatening me with everything from repossession of my first born child to incarceration in hard labor for life?! NO phone number to contact anyone regarding the message, no dates to indicate when this loan was supposedly taken out, NOTHING except that apparently whoever is sending these messages is the one stealing identities. This must stop. Someone must get to the bottom of this scam before lives are ruined if they aren't already! Thank you.

The following is the e-mail that I received from a "Briggs Law Firm" in Ocala, Florida stating that I owe an outstanding (unpaid) payday loan debt in the amount of $1,250 to a company called "United Personal Loans". I have never heard of said company, and I see from reading the other comments that this is a common fraudulent theme that they've been playing off. I would like to take any type of action possible against them. If anyone reading this knows what can be done to stop them, please reach out to me. The most disturbing thing about this is that they have my SS#, Date of Birth, Drivers license #, and the name of my place of employment.

Their e-mail as follows:

I been contacted through email by a law firm called Briggs law firm. They continue to insist that I took a loan over 1250$ When I know I never did. They threat me with charging me with so many charges if the amount isn't paid. That I would have to go to court and all the fees that come with it would be over 8k. Their emails don't even provide a number to call back. So I continue to ask them to provide information and proof of such loan in the last 4 emails I sent to them, yet they still don't provide it. They just said it's a loan I took out but no information of such. Haven't received and email back since I told him I had an investigation going on about this. So watch out for them.
