Don’t choose a property managed by Tessa Hydes Property Management (THPM). The only customers they serve are themselves as they are unresponsive and unhelpful to their tenants.
In our situation, the oven died within a month after moving in and they did not fix it for 6 weeks. Ultimately, the maintenance crew fixed the oven in a 15 minute job which could have been done earlier if THPM had not stalled and blamed everybody else (the owners of the condo itself, the manufacturer, the post office, the island’s limited supply of parts).
Then, several months later, the refrigerator conked out over a weekend. We called the THPM emergency line several times and left detailed voice mail messages for someone to come and make the repair. Only when we called again on Monday, after throwing out $200 of food, did a live representative respond to our call. They claimed they never received the emergency calls – instead, they blamed FLOW and accused us of never making any requests. In fact, their emergency line had a voice mail message instructed you to leave a detailed message as there was no access to email. (so where is THPM during an emergency? Mars? At sea?) When the repairman came on Monday afternoon, he fixed it the situation and said, “if he had received word from Tessa Hydes, he would have come at any time 24/7.”
THPM also pocketed our security deposit beyond the legal, 45-day return policy and reduced the amount by invoices for cleaning and repairs that we never received. This after many stalls and claims that they would get back to us shortly after we ended our lease.
Tessa Hydes Kerr doesn't care about the tenants. If you own the property and use them to manage it, they do NOT take care of it. You won't have peace of mind with them in charge. It feels like you're just not iimportant enough, they just want your money for her flights back to UK.
