TELPLEX IS A SCAM

I use to work for Telplex and our job was to lie and say whatever we had to say to rob you. We were told to say we were ATT and that your bill would be lowered when we knew it would go way up. I couldn’t sleep most nights knowing I was robbing people but in the little town I live in it was the only place hiring. Please forgive me God and I hope customers who were robbed can forgive me too. STAY FAR AWAY FROM TELPLEX

Telplex is a scam

I received a call from Telplex offering to reduce my AT&T Business Line costs from $2k down to $250. They claimed they were associated with AT&T, but when I called AT&T to confirm, the representative had no idea what I was talking about.

Don't trust Telplex.

I initiated the contract wtih Preferred Long Distance on 6/12/2014 after being contacted to switch from AT&T. I switched back to AT&T in January 2017 and received a terminatoin fee of $75 from Telplex (formerly Preferred Long Distance). I knew that I agreed to a 1 year team so was surprised by ther fee. The support rep said that the term is automatically renewable so I an now in a new term agreement. If I notified them 10 days prior to the renewal I would not be charged a termination fee.

I asked for a copy of the contract and see that the

"Rates are locked in for the duration of twelve (12) month Term of the Agreement***"

The *** in the fine print refer to free minutes being part of the contrat, not per line. There is nothing in that *** that refer to the Term of the Agreement.

There is a **** that has no reference point at the top of the contract that does say the term will automatically renew.

First of all, the Term of the Agreement is capitalized at the top of the contract indicated that iit is a defined terminology. Nothing in the asteric (*) small print of the document uses the defined terminology of "Term of the Agreement"

They have offered to split my final balance of $72.02 as a courtesy. I think that any terrmination fee after 2.5 years of a 1 year contract is a rip off.

I received a call from an AT&T operator. I specifically asked if she worked for AT&T and she said yes and gave me her operator number if I wanted to check. At this point I believed her and went thru a long process where she and than a Telplex operator verified my info and went to switch me over to new Long Distant carrier at a much lower rate. Two days later I have a suspicious debit out of my personal account. I called my bank. They can't easily trace it back to originator. The ask me if I have had any strange billing requests or changes. I report I don't believe so. I am not saying Telplex did the suspicious charge BUT, I did call AT&T to verify that they were changing to Telplex for Long Distance. I was told no and that I was the victim of fraud. They will work with me to change my Long Distance back with AT&T. I now know people will lie on the phone and will never trust another person saying they work for AT&T unless I directly call. Shame on this Company.

Started with a call from they want you to believe is at&t telling you there is an alternative with cheaper rates. Then transfered to another person who told me how low my bill would be. They also keep saying you are not under contract and can leave at anytime. My att bill averaged $300 at the office, they claimed they could cut it down to $225. First bill from them was for $670, 2nd bill was $450. Called to complain and they said that they would give me discounts to get my bill down to $250. I agreed so the email docs for me to sign but when you do it a contract you can not get out of without paying huge penalties. Do not deal wit these people

Telplex cold-called me claiming that they were contracted by AT&T and that I was required to let them do maintenance on my phone lines in order to keep my service with AT&T. They called many times and were very insistent. The process was extremely unprofessional but I complied because I wanted the calls to stop and my AT&T service to remain uninterrupted. A Telplex rep pressured me into filing a "work order" via their website while claiming the entire time to be an AT&T representative (at no point was this "work order" represented as a "contract").

I did not realize my lines had been slammed until I received a past-due bill for $336.20 (now $504.59). This bill was non-itemized so I didn't even know what I was being charged for. No previous bills had arrived. When I called to dispute the bill, the first Telplex rep hung up on me and the second rep continued to claim they were contracted by AT&T to handle AT&T's "billing and customer service". Subsequent representatives have laughed at me, mocked me and even called me back after I hung up. None of these people have identified themselves by name. They continue to insist that they ARE AT&T and refuse to cancel my account.

During the process of having my phone service changed back to AT&T I learned that my AT&T account was now in the name of Keith Nussbaum, the CEO of Telplex. Nowhere on the "work order"/"contract" did it say that I was consenting to transfer my phone lines into his name. Additionally, the contract does NOT state that I consent to paying a higher rate than what I was paying with AT&T.

This company lies and manipulates people into switching their phone service and then continues to lie by claiming that I knew all along what was happening. They continue to be uncooperative and continue to refuse to waive my balance and cancel my account. This incident has cost me many, many hours on the phone and has necessitated visits by three separate AT&T technicians over a period of weeks.

This all started with Telplex contacting me. They led me to believe my existing Phone service was going to be unavailable in the state I live in and that I would have to select a new service.

I was told the cost of the Phone service would be 50% Less than my service now and the internet would remain the same other than the upload would go from 20 to 5 (LESS) for same price.

Then I got my first bill. It did not go down it went up considerably. When I called to correct the billing there was nothing they would do other than change my Phone to a VOIP system which made the biil the same as what I allready had previously with less of a Phone system.

I contacted my original company who is still in the state, they told me what was going on and that I was not alone. Many have been told several different Stories to change there service. So I immediately changed back.

I contacted Telplex again to take care of the billing and was told to wait until the first bill came out and they would take care of it at that time. As I told them I am not PAYING a cent for there service. There service has only cost me time and money.

When I got the first bill I called, 3 times and was cutoff the first 2 times. the 3rd time I got a Manager by the name of Tony. I would not Hire Tony to take out my Trash. This conversation went nowhere. He said to wait for the next bill and basically pay it. He only insinuated that I was trying to get out of paying.

I had know problem paying my previous carrier, of course they provided service.

SAVE yourself Time and Money by never using TELPLEX. They Mislead you, they are a SCAM, a HOAX and I am not done YET, this is just the beginning.

This company called stated that they were actually AT&T and stated that they were scheduling an appointment to do required system upgrades. That AT&T was doing away with lan lines and everything was going digital. I put them on the phone with my husband where they directed him to their own website instead of AT&Ts which threw big red flags.

When he questioned them about it all the man on the phone got VERY defensive and agitated. That's when we hung up the phone and called AT&T directly to find out what was really going on and to make sure that TelPlex had not changed anything on our account. This company is a total scam and this type of business practice should be illegal.

Same as other reports. Called representing themselves as at&t stating that by new california state regulations they had to inform us that we could lower our bill by going through a third party. We were told everything about our service would remain the same and was quoted a much lower price. Upon receipt of the first bill we had incurred charges for every phone call other than limited local calling, more than tripling our monthly rate. A call to at&t illuminated that the person who initially contacted us was not from at&t. We are in the process of changing back over, but this has been an incredible cost to our organization to have undergone this change.

Telplex phone service scam

Received a call on my business line today from a person claiming to be an AT&T rep, said they could save me on my business phone lines. They then switched me over to another rep, this one from Telplex, who again said she was working with AT&T, trying to keep me using AT&T phone service. After her long sales pitch, she got a third party verifier on the phone. She urged me to "just say yes" to all of the questions because the 3rd party person could not answer any questions, only ask them. I asked several times why they are contacting trying to save me money and if they were really working with AT&T. Only at the very end of the conversation did they then say they are competing with AT&T. I stopped the transaction at the point since I did not understand why Telplex was telling me they are the line provider but AT&T is the service provider. After calling AT&T, found out that they are not working with this company at all.
