Thank you for treating your good customers like sh*t and closing their account after they pay off their balance. I made continuous on-time payments for the entire life of the account, until life brought unexpected challenges. I lost my job and was transitioning into a new one, which caused me to miss one payment.

After I tried to get assistance in making payments, I was denied, as my life challenges were not "difficult" enough for one missed payment. Thankfully, I received help from a friend and was back on track to bringing all of my Synchrony accounts up to date. Until your website glitched and charged my account for the entire balance. Well, at least I was fully paid on one account.

My friend assisted me again to make my other accounts current until my new income kicked in, despite this being no problem of theirs. They truly cared about my situation. Though, a company that claims to care and consistently advertises that they will do all they can to help, when in actuality only brought more difficulties, would not be compared to a good friend. They are not even close to a concerned party.

In response to being a loyal borrower until circumstances outside of my control caused a single missed payment, their only response was to take more money from me in fees and interest and then close my account after it was erroneously paid in full, as well as my other Synchrony accounts, which were now current.

I use PayPal Credit / synchrony Bank to protect my bank account when I order online. It had been working fine until 10/27,28,29/2020. I made an online purchase for supplies at TSC in my town. The next day I got half the order delivered from another TSC branch in another town with a delivery fee. I refused it and told them to cancel the order. I called my local store and cancelled the other half of the order. They had split the order without my knowledge to do a deliery for feed their system showed short in my local store, but which was in fact available there.

Then I went into the store and bought what I needed on my bank account, NOT PAYPAL since TSC does not ttake PayPal in stores only online. 10/ 28 and 10/29 I got TSC refund emails for the two orders with time, date, verification codes. Then verified by PayPal emails of the refunds one for $54.74 and one for $55.24. I have hard copies of all refunds, online orders and cancellations.

PAYPAL CREDIT / SYNCHRONY BANK HAS NEVER APPLIED THOSE REFUNDS TO MY ACCOUNT. Instead they "made an adjustment" to each of the small charges to put them into special financing AFTER THEY WERE CANCELLED. They kept adding interest and then when I called in to straighten the issue out they doubled the two charges instead of removing them. They misapplied one refund to Paypal balance not to the Special Credit Finance for $54.74 which I sis not realize. I paid my cell phone bill in November which they used part of it for instead of my bank account. Then In February they decided to use the balance of it for payment toward another TSC Credit bill.

They have been misapplying my monthly payments to different payments instead of the specific amounts I send for pay off of credit purchases. I just sent one in specifically to pay off accrued interest as per their payment form. It was applied instead of part of a large purchase rather than to the clear out all accrued interest? BAD ACCOUNTING PRACTICES to create more interest.

SEVEN MONTHS I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WEEKLY TRYING TO GET PAYPAL CREDIT TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THIS ACCOUNT. There should NEVER have been charges for $54.74 or $55.24 AS I NEVER PURCHASED ON PAYPAL FROM TSC on 10/28 or 10/29. Each phone call center person gives me the run around that the account can not be repaired by them , only their dispute department. THIS IS BANK FRAUD AND 100% ILEGAL.

Despite receiving minimum required monthly payments, on time and in full, Synchrony would alter or adjust the required minimum to be greater than the original ask, and then report the payment as either late or missed entirely to the credit bureaus. They have severely damaged my credit score, and because they unscrupulously change and increase the required minimums, they have tacked on so many late fees that my balance has actually increased over time. Even after agreeing to enter into CESI (credit consolidation) and accepting the agreed upon payments, they still persisted to report the payments as late, and even went so far as to close my accounts in a derogatory way. They are absolutely the worst creditors I have ever dealt with, and it's obvious that their goal is to keep accounts open with unethical late fees and billing practices. I would never recommend their services to anyone, and I will never open another account with them, even if it was an emergency.

My account with Synchrony was opened for $1,500, because i had major transmission work done and did not have enough credit cards to spread the enormous expense over.

They offered 12 months of interest free payment (30% deferred APR). I was paying down, on the average more than the minimum, on a monthly schedule.

On 4/14/2017 after 12 months and a balance of $786, had expired i was hit with a $459 interest charge. Now my balance went up to $1,245.

I immediately called them and asked why did they do that and they said that it was in their contract, which i never read since i opened this card at AAMCO transmission and all i had to do is sign on a screen to allow for credit background screening. I never had or had the opportunity to read any contracts. Also, no one ever discussed or disclosed that the interest will balloon at end of 12 months.

I asked to talk to their supervisor or someone higher up the org-chart and they said i need to call next business day.

I called several times between late April and June. Each time they put me on very long hold times 1.5hours or longer as i tried to get in touch with their supervisor to explain what is going on. Last time i called and asked to pay off the original debt and was put on hold again for well over 2hours. I do not have time to wait on the phone for unreasonable amounts of time as i need to work and have responsibilities.

I called all 5 of my other credit cards and all the banks said that after their deferred APR expires normally the regular annual APR kicks in. There is NO Ballooned interest with any of the other credit agencies.

I believe this bank is practicing unethically and possibly criminally. I want to pay off my original debt in one lump sum and be done with it.

I am writing this review as a cautionary tale. This should give some insight as to how Synchrony Bank treats their customers overall.

My wife had signed up for the Sam's Club Rewards Credit Card, serviced by synchrony bank. We were lured in by the 5% cash back on gas purchases, and 3% on dining.

This company's rewards program does not work like other rewards programs. Other rewards programs offer multiple ways to redeem your cash rewards, such as direct deposit, statement credit, or mailed check. The Sam's Club Rewards Credit Card will only issue a mailed check, once a year, at some undetermined time in February. We never received this check and, honestly, I forgot about it.

In January 2017, we realized that we were missing the previous year's amount and we contacted a customer service representative of the Sam's Club Rewards Credit Card. It seemd to be resolved it quickly and easily, as the representative told us that we would receive the amount as a statement credit. A month passed and we did not see it on our statment so we contacted customer service again and we were instructed to contact their back office.

After speaking with the back office representative, we were told that we would not receive the amount in any form. I asked to speak to the representative's supervisor. After a 15-20 minute wait, I was able to speak to the representative's supervisor.

This supervisor was rude and condensending for the entire conversation. They told me that because I had waited to contact them after December 31, 2016, that I would not receive the money that I was owed. I asked since they knew that the check had not been cashed, why couldn't they re-issue the check? They then told me something contradictory to the December 31, 2016 statement. They said that according to the terms and conditions that I forfiet the amount if the check is not cashed within 180 days. This would land some where around August / September, not December.

This was a very poor example of customer service, and as I told the supervisor, we only have that card solely for the rewards program. This day forward, it will be zeroed out and left inactive. Please be assured that this card is not worth it and that there are better rewards programs out there.

Synchrony Financial engages in unfair and deceptive practices on a daily basis. Some of the people in their bank like to play cruel jokes on people and harm them financially like it's a game for them. One guy in Customer Service in the U.S . at some secret location he won't disclose, likes to cause trouble for people just so he can chuckle. He thinks it's funny to toy with other people's lives. They like an air of mystery. They tell people in their company not to tell anyone anything. Very secretive and deceptive and unfair practices. They always want to blame everyone else for their mistakes.

Synchrony bank/care credit is Horrible! I have been making regular monthly payment much more than the minimum payment due and several months I paid 2 or 3 payments in one month to help get the balance lower. Well I have been punished by making more payment prior to my due date! Yes that is 100% correct. I paid 2 payments in February one on the 1st and one on the 14th of February but my due date for February was the 20th so Synchrony bank posted my 2 payments in February 1 and 14th to January and hit me with a no payment being made in February, late fee and additional interest. WHAT? this is the crazy 110% ! truth about this company. You try to pay your loan down but they will suck every last penny from you in every unethical way possible. I have filed complaints with the OCC, FTC and the CFPB (consumer federal protection bureau). I am also going to look into a class action suit against the company. Everyone who reads this post and has been ripped off by these very ugly people keep a lookout in the mail to be a part of the law suit.

Someone needs to stop this bank...i had a carecredit medical/dental credit card with them that i had always paid on time, in fact had paid in full twice, and had a $0 balance on that they cancelled. When the card was active it was a usual occurance to not receive statemens. When i would call about the missing statements they would say that they had probably been sent to the wrong address. When i asked them for the address they had on file they would quote the correct address and could not explain why statements were not being delivered. I actually had them blame the post office several times. The truth is that they a lot of the time they don't send statements, that way they can charge late fees and raise interest rates. You have to keep very close track of all payments yourself and do not depend on statements from this rip-off bank. I have had nothing but problems with synchrony bank credit accounts. This is the worse bank/credit company there is. Many people probably don't know but, they are behind many store credit cards, i.e. Lowe's, kohl's, amazon on and on. They wait for one little error in payments to pounce and start with the late fees, interest rate hikes, harassing phone calls and threats. They do not care nor take into account that you have a long standing of good credit and debt repayment. Means nothing to them. Stay away from them at all cost!!!!!

Went to bransmart usa and got offered a pro mo for 0% intrest for 2 yrs. after 2 yrs the company charge us the entire 2 yrs of intrest and called it defered intrest which was never told.
