I ORDERD A MOTOR THAT TOOK A LONG TIME TO BE DELIVERED AND FOUND OUT THAT IT IS THE WRONG EMISSIONS (ULEV) . ON THE HOME PAGE IT IS CLERLY PRINTED, ( WITH THE USE OF YOUR VIN NUMBER, WE GET YOU THE PRECISE ENGINE YOUR CAR NEEDS.) AND I ASKED IF EMISSIONS (ELEV) MADE A DIFFERENCE AND I WAS TOLD NO. I BOUGHT MY CAR IN OHIO HOWEVER I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THE MOTOR IN MY CAR WAS A CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS MOTOR AND NOT A FEDERAL EMISSIONS MOTOR. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WOULD WANT THE VIN NUMBER TO GET THE PRECISE MOTOR . I DID CALL THEM AND THEY SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 450.00 MORE FOR A CALIFORNIA MOTOR AND PLUS 490.00 SHIPPING AND RESTOCKING FEE. MY COST WENT FROM 1545.00 TO 2495.00 DOLLARS. JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY NEEDED A VIN NUMBER TO SHIP A PRECISE MOTOR .

As has happened to other reviewers on this forum about this company, SWengines, My experience could be plugged into several of the others verbatim. I am a repair facility and needed a Windstar engine. Their front page makes it sound like they have quality used parts and check them out before shipping. It is all a scam. My engine was suppose to be an 80,000 mile engine for a 2001 ford windstar, out of a wrecking yard in Tulsa OK, test run and compression checked, blah blah. What I got was an engine from Bakersfield CA that by conditions and the cheap paint sprayed on it likely has 250,000 miles on it. It has two fouled spark plugs in it for starters. The shipping pallet was broken and one band supposeably holding the engine on was broke and the other was loose.

First call back to the phone at SW engines the contact, Scott I believe said they would issue a refund and pick the engine up. The next contact said they had to pick the engine up before they could issue a refund. There has been no further contact by phone or reply from Email. Do not buy from this broker.

I was told for $1945.00 i would receive a compleat low miles engine. 4.7 ohc v8 to fit a 2002 dodge ram 1500, in 7-10 days. on invoice states 73k miles I payed by credit card 12-12-17 received engine on 01-05-18, customer unhappy loss of income due to business truck down time.I received an incomplete wore out oil leaking noisy smoking out tailpipe engine. They actually took the cam cover gaskets off and put the covers back on bolts tight. Tore the oil pan gasket, only four bolts installed .no exhaust manifolds broken harmonic balancer barely steam cleaned if at all.Needless to say customer very unhappy and im having to eat it. I have been in the business for forty years now, I know this engine has more miles than advertised. the engine has been installed. very doubtful it will make the warranty period( 5 year 50,000 miles ) Due to unexpected repairs, cost to to this engine went over budget $637.79.very unhappy customer. They still wont answer my calls ?

Save Yourself the Grief, Don't Even Think About Buying an Engine from these People

I purchased an engine from these crooks. It took almost month to get here. Not the 7 to 14 business days they promised on their website. When we did recieve it, it was obvious it had sat out in the weather for a "long time".

My mechanic removed the old engine and began the installation of the replacement engine. During this process, he had surgery. As a result, he didn't complete the installation within their "10 day requirement". You see, they require the engine to be installed within 10 days of recieving it. If that doesn't occur, they won't Warranty the engine and won't return "any" of your phone calls. I guess if you put enough hoops out there, fewer customers will qualify for the Warranty. Good strategy for them. Bad for their Customers.

The mechanic had a lot of trouble getting the engine started. When it finally did, it was obvious "two" rods were knocking in the engine. It was a piece of junk before it was ever shipped. So much for their Quality Control.

As of this moment, I was robbed of $1400 for a non-functional engine. $2000 for removal of the old engine and installation of JUNK. Now I'm waiting to see if their JUNK can be repaired.

So disappointed.

I purchase a used engine and a three-year parts and labor warrany for my Mazda Miata on October 1, 2016 for $2395. The enigine was shipped in a timely manner but once it was installed we discovered that the engine was damaged and sold to us in poor working condition. It made a loud and constant knocking sound.

I contacted this company to begin the warranty process and was asked to provide an installation and diagnostic report. At this time I also requested a diagnostic and documentations about the engine that was sold to me. Accoring to the warranty representative I spoke to, they do not have this documentation. According to him, they run the engine for 30-60 minutes to test for oil pressure and knocking and then store them for an uncertain amount of time.

My mechanic provided the company and myself with multiple documents stating that the engine was damaged and was not suitable for driving. Even with this information received, the company refuses to uphold they warranty stating that we didn't send the correct information.

Every interaction we have had with the warranty service reporesntative, Alex Black, has been extremely rude and hostile. We requested the contact information for his superiors on several occasions and we have yet to receive this information.

I have given this company chance after chance at the mulitple stores I've been over due to their inventory, however, I have never witnessed worse customer service or accountability at a company more consistantly than with SWengines. They will consistantly talk to you like you're a burden, not take responsiblity, if they're missing a piece of information after asking them is that ALL the information you need, do you have everything you need from me? They simply won't ship until you call them 14 days later like they ask you to wait in their automated system, and then they will tell you they never shipped it. They have hung up on my team many times, repeatedly sent us to the same voicemail after asking them to please stop and just help us and only finally did bc we were persistent in calling back. You never know when your engine or transmission will arrive up to 14 days so if you do have to use them, be prepared for that bc they do take their sweet time. They are rude, unhelpful, and you feel like your talking with people in a chop shop based on their phone ettiquete and horrible customer service. There seems to be no higher up accountability. If we ever use them again it will only be if we're abolutely desperate and we will be sure to call them daily to make sure things are still in order. I try to be a pretty patient person but I have never had a good experience with them and that can only mean it's a culture with SWengines. It's been every time. I would not recommend them unless you can stay on top of the order daily.. that is if you can get ahold of them or keep them on the phone for that matter.

Purchase a engine chose their company because of the warranty. Engine had a bad crank shaft which leaked oil. Had to remove the engine from car just the see what the problem was. Followed all of the warranty rules on their website. I have emailed and called and cannot get a response from the. Posted notes on theit facebook page which they quickly took down.

The warranty is worthless and the engines they are selling are not what they are advertising.

I ordered an engine for a 2002 Honda CRV from SWE on 9/14/15, it arrived at my mechanics over 30 days later, and it had been damaged in shipping. For some reason, I'm taking SWE at their word that their "spot checks" were on point and it wasn't damaged when it left their facility. Either way, the engine was not properly secured in the shipping truck, it fell over, and parts that were once perfectly usable were broken, forcing my mechanic to rip parts off the old engine and put them on this one. I incurred additional labor fees, and I was without my vehicle for an extra seven days because of this mistake.

I called SWE to try and get some reimbursement, as this is not my fault nor that of my mechanic, and the individual I spoke to (didn't catch a name) was rude, and simply told me "if you'd read your warranty you'd see there's nothing we can do." He was 100% unhelpful, and I flat out refuse to believe that "there's nothing that can be done."

This is the fault of SW Engines, not me, and not my mechanic. They need to be held responsible for their actions. I've since looked up their reputation on the BBB, which I should have done beforehand, and I found that not only do they have an "F" rating, but they also have 370 complaints against them, most of which have been left unresolved.

I will be reporting this fraud of a company to as many places as possible, and I will not stop until this is fixed.
