My husband found this moving company through Hertz and was given an estimate of roughly 2000$ to move our belongings from Ohio to Minnesota. Once the company arrived, they started loading and later gave us a new estimate of 4000$, when I told them to unload because I wasn't paying that, they told me it would be another 2000$ to cancel. After loading they said our new total was to be 8000$. They never left a copy of any signed contracts and after several phone calls and disagreements, they said they would bring the amount down to roughly 5000$ and we could set up a payment plan. They left Ohio with everything and 3000$ paid to them saying they would to Minnesota in a couple days. A week has passed and now our belongings are supposedly in storage in Columbus, Ohio. They are asking us to wire transfers 1500$ to an account today and say they will be at our house on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 and are expecting another 2000$ in cashier's check only.

I booked NJ move through Hertz, for I trusted the name. Without my knowledge or permission, Hertz contracted my move with Supreme Moving and Storage based out of FL. Supreme Storage then loaded me up, and placed my belongings in storage until they delivered (multiple delivers) and at additional costs. Not only did, they not meet contracted delivery deadlines, they repeatedly scheduled, and then didn’t show up. This was a severe hardship on my employment and quality of life, understanding that I had no furniture or belongings. When delivery dates were completed, each delivery only contained a few items and resulted in additional delivery charges. If I didn’t pay them, they would not unload them. I was held hostage repeatedly.

At the end of multiple deliveries, my boxes were unpacked and re-packed in different boxes and with re-sealed with cheap tape. I knew this for I bought heavy duty deluxe moving tape, which was only present on two boxes. Boxes which were delivered were too missing items. In addition, boxes, clothing, furniture, and mattress were never received. The furniture items which were delivered, were too unpacked. Supreme Storage, would not return my calls, nor did they meet our contracted delivery deadline. Hertz too would not return my phone calls, and claimed that there was nothing they could do. When Hertz discovered that Supreme Moving and Storage were no longer returning their calls, Hertz then gave me insurance contact information.

I filed my claim, and the insurance have not responded to my claim, or my request to phone me. I’m still discovering items that are missing; since I reported $26,973.85 on my taxes, I no longer have the energy or emotional strength to add these items to my losses. Available Upon Request: Photo of damages, emails, and moving company paperwork.
