Promised me a solar energy system that would power my entire 1100 square foot home in case of power outages for 18 hours on battery power. Also, a system that would save me substantially every month (up to 2/3 savings) on my electric bill.

After the system was installed I was informed it would not power the entire house because there weren't enough batteries. The system then failed days after installation and continued to fail over and over again. Sun-Tec said it was faulty "snaps" and that there was a recall. I saved no money on my electric bill for the entire year it's been installed.

From the day it was installed I insisted that they should uninstall it, because I was promised a system that powers my whole house. After it continued to fail, a few months ago I called them and told them to come get the system. That it didn't work and even when it did work it was inadequate for my needs.

The system is now making explosion sounds inside the battery compartment. Like the sound of a small caliber pistol. The battery light turns red for a moment, then green again. Then, smoke comes out of the vent at the top of the compartment and the smell of burning electrical.

I spoke with Frank, at Sun-Tec today, a sales manager, who got involved when I complained to their receptionist about the system not powering the whole house, after I called to report this serious battery fault that is putting my house at risk for a fire.

Frank, the manager, told me he was sending no technician because I told the receptionist I was afraid we would end up in court over this issue of the whole house not having solar power. He informed me that since I said I was "getting a lawyer" (I never said any such thing) well, then, they didn't have to service my system anymore. (Even though they are contractually obligated to do so).

He told me that he'd already explained why I didn't have the system they promised me when I applied and signed up to pay a contract. He said "it feels like I'm living in Ground Hog Day with you, we've gone over this more than once."

To which I responded that we will continue to go over it until the company makes it right.

He laughed.

This company is a total scam. They sold us a solar system for around $27,000 and never did an in service on how to monitor the system and I kept calling Duke why we were getting such high electric bills. We finally got in touch with the salesman who has since quit and he was able to get someone out in May to look at the system. What they found is that the meter hasn't been working since December! It took them three weeks to supposedly get the part and another three weeks to get it installed this past Saturday 6/27.

I spoke to a Lee while the technician was there and she promised to call me Monday today 6/29 to discuss this entire nightmare situation and I told her I wanted compensation for the electric bills that we've had to pay. When it got close to noon and no call I called and asked to speak to her. I was told that she'd get a message and call me back. Then when it got to 3:45 and no call I called back and had to leave a message on her voicemail and I told her that if I didn't get a call today that I was going to file a complaint with the BBB, post reviews on the internet and slam them any and every way I can. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SCAM COMPANY!!!!!!!!Florida

Sun-Tec hired our services to make appointment setting and lead generation for their solar specialist to come out and do no cost energy evaluation. They were always delayed with the payment. They agreed to pay on a weekly basis but most of the time, their invoices were delayed for more than 3 weeks.

We decided to stop dialing because we cannot afford the operational expense of our center anymore and they owe us more than $7,000. They keep on promising that they will settle the amount but always fails to pay us.

We just wanted to do good business but them but they do not care about the agents who depends on their salary. The agents needed to be paid ASAP. They need it for their family. We tried to communicate with them giving them an option to settle this amicably even thru installment, but they never bothered to respond.

If anyone is considering Solar for their home, DO NOT CALL SUN-TEC SOLAR ENERGY. Read this first; BACK IN MARCH OF 2017 . I WAS happy to say, I got a call from Ray Fernandez who assured me that my project is moving along and I will be notified by him personally as things progress UPDATE; I have put up with the total amount of betrayal and untruths coming from the Salesman first, who did not stop me when I told him how glad I was to finally be getting a POWER back-up system for my home (IT IS NOT) I was never told, it does not work AS A BACK UP SYSTEM, ALSO, IT DOES NOT WORK without changing out your safe meter to a (in my estimation_NON safe "smart"meter. ALSO, I am just getting started. The only time I have had someone call me REGARDING help me with my system, is when I would post something on Facebook, otherwise Sun-tec solar completely ignores me.

During the Hurricane we lost power which was expected. I thought I would at least be able to use the "one little single outlet they offer" to plug in my refrigerator, but NO, it did not work. NOT ONLY HAVE WE NOT SEEN A PENNY BACK FROM FPL , To add insult to injury, our electric bill has GONE UP every single month since this thing has been "SO CALLED " working. I called FPL yesterday and they told me nothing is showing up for them to say the system is generating enough electricity to count as a credit. I called Ray Fernandez 4 or 5 days ago and asked him for the umpteenth time to PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE COME OUT AND SEE IF THIS SYSTEM IS WORKING . NO ONE YET AND HE EVEN SAID HE WOULD COME HIMSELF IF HE COULD NOT FIND SOMEONE. GEE THANKS RAY. After the Hurricane (IRMA) I EMAILED every department of SUN-TEC SOLAR AND NO ONE RESPONDED. I ASKED, "HOW TO GET POWER TO MY REFRIGERATOR?" The only one who responded was the FINANCE COMPANY WHO SAID, CONTACT YOUR INSTALLER., NOT US. THIS IS A SHAME. AND A SHAM, I FEEL I HAVE BEEN HAD BY A SWINDLER BIG TIME FOR BIG BUCKS. This has cost time, energy, frustration, depression, anxiety to name a few of the problems since dealing with this company. Never before in my life have I ever had such a problem. If I could return it I would, IT IS.. FOR PETE'S SAKE, BRAND NEW AND NEVER BEEN USED. If anyone can help me as to what recourse I can take, I am open to suggestions. THANK YOU
