Where do I start? I had a funny feeling about Sunkiss Travel before I even signed up for their "working holiday" in Marbella.

I thought there was no way they could be a legit business with their poor communication and grammer skills... I exchanged probably 100 emails with them asking them questions they were so reluctant to answer or could not help me with. Being told I had to pay first before they could give me more details should have made me run away, but I found no bad reviews for them online so I took the chance - hey, I was hopeful for a cheap holiday in Marbella!

They sent me photos of what looked like a luxury apartment, telling me I would be sharing with "4 or 5 people" and all apartments have "aircon, TV, and WIFI'. To knock this out, when I arrived, I was put in an apartment with no aircon, dirty, filthy, roaches, and sharing with 7 people! Yep, that was 4 beds in my room at one point and no one was happy. When I complained to the "mananger" he told me I should feel lucky because the other apartments have 10 or more people and my apartment is the only one with WIFI.

So I guess I should feel "lucky" and stop complaining but the nightmare doesn't end there...

The people in charge never gave me info on what time to go to the bars or how to prepare. When I asked questions, they told me to ask the other people in my apartment... Maybe that works sometimes but when we are all new and clueless, please, take some time to give us directions.

When we made it to work we were all put on the streets to sell tickets into the bars (this was the only work they had available and I wouldn't expect anything but this job if you're going there). The nightmare continues - if you're a girl like me, expect to get more offers from men on the street to go to their hotel room than offers to buy tickets into the bars. The managers will watch you and yell at you for not approaching people even if they were already approached by another girl to sell to them.

Their reasoning - "They may say no to that girl, but they may like you and want to buy your tickets." Yeah, seriously. After 3 nights of this work and being violated by too many drunk guys, I decided to quit and just take the option to just enjoy a vacation without working. After all the Sunkiss website clearly says you don't have to work and many people choose not to.

Wrong! After me and the other girls told them we won't be working, they told us we can't stay in the apartment. The other girls got scared and quickly left, one booking a flight out that evening. But I was pissed, seeing that it was clearly an option on the Sunkiss website to stay without working... I contacted Sunkiss and they told me it's only true for some resorts but not Marbella - good to know!

I asked for a day to find a place to go because I had planned on staying a whole month - flights are expensive the same day and I had no idea where to go. When I got back to the apartment all my stuff was gone! The bar manager had taken everything and told me I needed to leave NOW.

Luckily my boyfriend came to get me and helped me get my stuff back... if he wasn't there I'm afraid for what could have happened. It was a fight to get my luggage back and I never even got paid for the tickets I did sell.

What I learned - Sunkiss Travel has A LOT of misleading and flat out BS information on their website. When I asked for a refund they suddenly disappeared. What a joke and waste of time and money. I would not recommend this scam to anyone.

Sunkiss travel

I believe every word your saying. My 17yr old daughter applied last year. When she told me I look for info about them. I didn't like what I found so I told her to forget it. She contacted them by email as she could never get through on the phone and told them she was no longer interested. It's coming up to nearly a year now and they are still sending her threatening email of legal action as they said they want a cancellation fee. I've told her to pay nothing to them and her bank is now looking into getting her money back for her. My advise is stay well away from them

May 2019: Likely a total scam; if not, still dangerous

Long story short - my friend was hoping to spend the summer in Ibiza, but has unfortunately been duped by these immoral scum. All along, she was promised information on where she would be staying, who her contact would be, and a link to a web forum or WhatsApp group to meet people who would be going to the same place with SunKiss. None of this was ever forthcoming, and every email she sent would only receive responses saying the information would come "in a few days", or "next week". Finally, she was given the name of an apartment complex (which anyone might get from Google Maps), but no info on who to ask for, and no discussions with fellow travellers.

So, if it's not actually a scam, then at the very least SunKiss are extremely unprofessional, disorganized, unhelpful, and potentially dangerous. To expect a young woman to travel to a foreign country, without a contact name, with no idea who she is meeting, and to just show up at an apartment complex where they might simply say they had never heard of her, is insane. To alleviate this, all they would have to do is put her in touch with other travelers, as they promised to do, but it never happened.

Now, why it looks like it could be a scam: on their FaceBook page, the likes, comments and reviews come from fake accounts. That is, the accounts are all just a profile pic with a name, and no activity besides the post on SunKiss. The videos are all several years old, and comments, etc., are disabled. In addition, from other stories above, they are threatening legal action against people who are entering in to a service contract with them - there is no legal basis for this, and it is very typical of scammers to make such false legal threats.

Within days of contacting another company, my friend was given full access to a social media group, and has been in touch with the people she will actually be living with. She is lucky to be travelling, because she is down €600, but has people who care about her enough to help out.

Stay away from SunKiss, they are at the very least incompetent and dangerous, and potentially actual scam artists.

Stay away

I booked my working holiday in Marbella in January. After I tried to ask few questions about this working holiday they asked me to pay €100 booking fee in order to secure my booking. After completing the payment they proposed I asked If I could get apartment that is less crowded. They told me again to pay €100 to change the resort stating that resorts they have in Greece are less crowded with other workers. All that became bit funky to me so I decided to cancel my booking. After I sending them my proposal for cancellation they told me that I must oblige and pay €100 cancellation fee. I absolutely refused to pay this as I don't want their service due to private matters such as I found my own accommodation. They told me that under no circumstances I can do that as my booking is in place and I must pay cancellation fee otherwise they will take court action against me and now as de facto refusing to pay my cancellation fee they will prosecute me by taking severe legal action against me where by I will get bad credit rating for 20 years and all legal cost are on me to pay. As I kept refusing my communication with them every week they were sending threating emails that I broke their terms and conditions and that my bank society will be informed and therefore they will take the full remaining balance of €480 at once. I had to change my banking details, pin number and card numbers as well as CVV code. My struggle with them is still not finished. Lately they started intimidating me on the phone to pay my balance as court letter is in preparation as in legal action against me. Scam nothing else then scam. If you check their videos you will see that all comments are disabled. Scam. Stay away. Simple as that.

Sunkiss

Hi, it would be good to have a chat. I'm actually suing them myself, so it would be good to see what tactics they are using against you. Whatever happens, don't pay them regardless of the threats. They have no legal power to sue. Send me an invitation to connect on Linkedin if you can and then drop me a message once i've accepted your invite. It would be good to talk. Stay away!! Unprofessional and money grabbing

That time of year again where I try to plan my summer. I wanted something that could get the benefits of being paid working while enjoying myself in the sun.

Stumbled across SunkissTravel and what they offer and thought perfect. They sort the job, accommodation, support etc brilliant.

Originally was looking at doing Ibiza but thought the price was crazy for just 2/3 weeks. During this time I’d been emailing SunkissTravel with questions and in fairness, we’re quite good at responding (don’t be fooled).

Started looking at the other locations they offered and found sunny beach Bulgaria. Way cheaper to book and the package was for 4 weeks.

Still being not 100% decided with the whole thing and still wanting to keep my options open, I said I would pay the €1 deposit to hold my place.

About a week later of thinking about it I decided not to go ahead with the working holiday. I emailed them to say I was not going forward and to cancel my place.

In response to this email they told me they were going to charge me €115 from my account AUTOMATICALLY without my permission. I was fuming. Not once before was this mentioned of any cancellation fee especially not €115!!! When I had paid €1!!! And not received any sort of service/ support after the payment.

Anyone thinking of doing this DO NOT PAY ANY DEPOSIT UNLESS YOU ARE 100% GOING AGEAD WITH THE WORKING HOLIDAY.

Absolute money grabbers is what they are and lack of decency for people. Take advantage of young people who encourage them to pay the deposit and then change them for the whole holiday.

Stay away scammers!!!
