I applied to a student debt relief program with a company called Student Debt Agency (SDA) back in August. I agreed to make 3 payments of $333 for their services to enroll me in this program. I made the first two payments, then was unable to contact the company, the website was down and the primary phone number out of service. Through my bank statement I was able to get another phone number of an affiliate of SDA. I contacted this guy and was given a different phone number, which I used to contact the agent I was working with at SDA, Anthony Zavala. He assured me that I was still being enrolled in the program, apologized for the lack of contact and refunded me the second payment of $333. After that, I was never again contacted by Anthony or SDA. I called the number again today and reached a different student loan assistance company. They said they were not affiliated with SDA, however, they also said that Anthony used to work there! At this point I am more concerned with the fact that this company could rip off more people and that I have given them a lot of my personal information. Of course, I would also like the remaining $333 back as well! Much of the correspondence Ive had with this company has been unprofessional, I got the impression early on that this might be a scam, but had already given them my info and paid so I took Anthony's word that he was legit and that they woulf get me enrolled in the program.
