As crazy as this sounds, rest assured it’s 100% true.

If you are a Straight Talk customer, and you switch out to another carrier, you WILL NOT, I REPEAT, WILL NOT be able to port your number out to another carrier if your Straight Talk phone is broken, stolen, lost, or inaccessible. Your SOLE option is to buy another phone, then a prepaid plan (if your service has lapsed), and THEN AND ONLY THEN will you be able to receive your Port Out PIN, and only if you have access to the SIM card that carries the number you want to port out.. They use email to verify you, BUT NOT TO RECEIVE A PORT OUT PIN! It’s obvious what’s behind this: they figure that you will, having bought another phone and plan, simply stay with them. THE SOLE WAY TO PORT YOUR NUMBER OUT IS TO RECEIVE YOUR PORT OUT TRANSFER PIN VIA A TEXT, EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO ACCESS TO THE PHONE!! If you don’t have access to at least the SIM card for your number, you can forget about retaining your number.

Having used their gold plan for over a year and racking up points, I decide to use them as their automated "service" keeps telling me I have enough for a free plan. So I look them up and see that I have enough for the silver. Both silver and gold have " unlimited data.

But apparently the gold has unlimited up to 200gb, but the silver I hear from their customer service has up to 60gb. I have already purchased via the rewards the silver plan to begin at the end of my present service which was already renewed by their automated service.

The rewards was told to me after renewing. I purchased the silver plan before calling to see what that asterisk after unlimited was to hide. The gold plan for 55$ is the plan I am currently enrolled in. The silver only had a difference of hot spot and wifi usage written on the plan page. Nothing was said about their so called unlimited data.

200 gb for gold but apparently unlimited means something quite different for silver: a whole 140 gb worth of difference! Even their customer support first told me that unlimited means unlimited until I had to explain to them that Gold is 200 and I'm being told silver is only 60. Either they are very conveniently forgetful or they purposely withhold vital information.

Now they tell me refunds on rewards is not possible! That's over 4500 accumulated points gone to waste! Plus I have to stop them from switching over to a plan I don't want or can afford getting before my current much better plan ends. Tried to reason with them to get back said points to gather the necessary amount for a free gold plan. But they are resilient in sticking me for something worse.

Cancelling the new one however, will not refund the reward points it will just have them gone as though never there. THIS IS A SCAM!!! IF UNLIMITED MEANS FAR DIFFERENT FROM ONE TO THE NEXT IT SHOULD TELL YOU!!! It tells of other differences why not the "limit" on the unlimited data?

Do the math: unlimited (60gb) VS. unlimited (200gb)???? Not only is unlimited basically not unlimited but that's all right, 200 goes a long way; but 60 doesn't. Rewards should be refunded and plans should be explained WITHOUT having to go around the world to find out the why's and wherefors....

Wall Mart straighttalk Melina, Martin, and several people Walmart straighttalk,,,Ever since i purchased a straight talk hot spot, they have not provided data i have paid for to my account on auto refill. Every 2 months i would have to call them up because of no data issued to my account after i have already paid through my credit card for it.

5 years this has been going on, after i b***h them out, they put the data on my account, and i can use internet another 2 months. This time they refuse to put data on my account,, and tell me i must upgrade and change my modem. But that is not true because it works fine once they put the data on my account of which they have never put the data on my account ever, until i call them and b***h them out.

So it is removed on purpose by there machines. Fro 5 years they have done this to me and never repaired the problem and ripping me off for several days of internet, not providing the internet services i have paid for. It has been 5 days now and i still have no internet services since my card was auto charged.

They have done for several years to me every 2 months, because there system will not reload my data after auto payment. Several years, at 5 days without services every 2 months for 5 years that is 2 months a year they charged me and gave me no services for my money. This last time they refusef to refill my data and refused to refund my money.

I am getting a lawyer and will law suit the pants off of them, none of them ever fixed or wanted to, they just keep the data until you threaten them. Then reload it. But in the meantime after 5 years, it becomes a whole year of internet services i have lost after paying them for it. I demand my money back wall mart, you rip off, not to mention my agravation and several hours on the phone to your nobody technicians who are not technicians. United States

I ordered an Iphone SE ON 3/18/2022 that was supposed to come with 3 free months of unlimited service all for $250/$280ish after tax. I have confirmation by email that my payment went thru but after a week and with nothing saying it was shipped, I called customer service. They said they would have to create a ticket and someone would follow up within 24hrs.

Well about a week later still no word. I call back and they tell me that the ticket number I gave them was bogus. (I had confirmed with the original operator that I had heard him correctly so basically he gave me a bs ticket number). The second person said the same thing--that they would create a ticket and somebody would return my call in less than 24 business hours.

That was a week ago now and still nothing.

Meanwhile I've had to exist in this "you need a phone for everything" society for almost a month now out $280 and still no phone.

I ordered a phone three weeks ago and still have not received it and their customer service is a joke.

I thought that no contract meant that you are not subject to staying with this carrier when you find a cheaper carrier. I found out that one year of active use is required before you can change carriers. (it is in their terms and conditions) They lock your phone with no way to unlock without using the whole year. Seems like a contract to me.

The minmum plan they have is $35 + tax. I hardly use my phone and this is expensive for me. I should have done my due dilgence and read the terms and conditions closer. I have a phone I can not use unless I pay for an expensive plan. (my opinion) Still I think no contract should mean no contract.

I bought a iPhone 7 from them for $120 plus tax and but a monthly plan of $45 with 25 GB of high-speed data they sent me the phone with everything turned on safari used up 11 GB in a week I didn't know how to use the phone never had an iPhone there was no instruction on how to use the phone apps for using up data at record speed's are used up 25 gigs in one week and supposed to have two gigs of high-speed data at that point had none couldn't get anything.

they told me I had 75 kW of data speed at that point I'm happy I decided to go with another carrier and get another phone thinking I could sell that phone wasn't happy with the way the Phone was operating it is Reconditioned phone Can't do anything with the phone because it's locked out with them for a year that I stay with them buying their service which was horrible

Rip-off rip-off on their new plans as of October 22nd the $45 plan Now does not have hotspot and the $55 plan is limited to 10 gigs hotspot when it was 60 gigs.

Straight Talk is a fraud. They advertise "unlimited 4G data", but it is really very limited and heavily throttled. I pay $55/month for the highest-class "unlimited 4G data" plan, and I am getting about 1/4 of a G. No way do they keep their promises.

Today, my data rate started at 130 KB/sec, but after a while they cut it down to 33 KB/sec, then to 20, then 18, then 12, and now it's 9. All of yesterday, it was 5, and didn't improve until 11:30PM. They even throttle at 2AM when you have no competition for bandwidth. What is most maddening is that you can start a download and it says, "2 hours to finish." But halfways through, they cut the data rate in half, so that it's still 2 hours to finish.

Then halfways through that, they cut the data rate in half again, so it's still 2 hours to finish. It's like trying to walk to the horizon. The goal keeps receding in front of you as you approach it. It is impossible to watch YouTube videos at such slow data rates, or even to listen to streaming music. It starts and stops and stutters, and takes up to an hour to download a 5-minute video.

No way is that 4G service, like they advertised and sold. Find an honest phone company.

I have been a customer with Straight Talk for nearly two years now, the first year was on an iPhone 5c, and this year an iPhone 6. I will say that I haven’t had any problems with Straight Talk until this past month. I purchased my monthly service card as I do every month which totals out to $50.55 after taxes and fees. The first week of my service was interrupted because my phone had been deactivated for 1 day prior to the purchase of my new Straight Talk unlimited talk, text, and 10 GB high speed data. So the service that I had paid for didn’t work for the first week. I spoke with an online Straight Talk representative, which resolved the service issues I was having. However, I requested to get the 7 days back in which I had missed out on. The representative told me that towards the end of my service I would need to call or chat back in using their live support chat to have the 7 days added back to my account. Now that I have waited all this time and my service expires today,

I’ve spoke with three different representatives including two managers who explained to me that there were no notes on my Straight Talk account stating to add back the 7 days that I had missed out on. So, they refused to help me and add the 7 days back. I asked the manager if it was my fault that his employee did not add the note to my account, and he said no, but since there was note he could not add the 7 missed days back to my service.

In conclusion, I explained that I would no longer be using their service. I’ve paid full price for the new iPhone 6 at my local WalMart which was around $300 at the time. I went to Verizon Wireless to ask if my phone was compatible with their towers, and they checked and told me that it was compatible but that I would need to contact Straight Talk and have them unlock my phone from their carrier service. So since then I’ve contacted Straight Talk again and they told me that they wouldn’t unlock my phone for another 40 service days. They stated that when I purchased the phone, that I paid full price for, that I was under their carrier service for a full year and the phone could not be unlocked. I have already purchased my sim kit and service through Verizon, and Straight Talk will not help me out at all! I am so very disappointed. I have never complained about Straight Talk, but this has taken it too far and something needs to be done.

I bought my girlfriend an iPhone 8 Plus through SmartPay which is a Straight Talk Phone. We was on the phone for an hour and a half and still no results with the issue. We paid for a $55 dollar ultimate unlimited plan with out order and it is on the receipt. But the code that is on the receipt is for a $45 dollar plan. Issue was never resolved and lost $10 and time due to slow speeds on data. Called Quality One Wireless and goes straight to voicemail. Will never do this again with another phone. Straight Talk couldn’t help and neither could SmartPay where we got the phone. I have proof with a copy of the receipt and a photograph of the receipt as well.

So I contact straight talk and reported my phone stolen which had 2 months of minutes on it they told me they added it to the black list never to be programmed again. then I called and had the minutes and phone number moved to a new phone in which they still told me the stolen phone would not be able to be programmed by no one .then I logged into my account a day later and seen the stolen phone was no longer listed on my account. I called them and they told me the phone had gotten transformed to another person's name. I chewed them out and told them they knew that was a stolen phone they had to transfuse me 3 times to even get to a person that even knew what they were doing. I have all these calls recorded. needless to say I am not happy with there services yet again told them the phone is not allowed to be programmed and again they told me it will never be able to be programmed. the phone has been listed back on my account and better never be programmed as i am watching for it

No idea how information was obtained, never have purchased Trac Phone used my Credit Card with my information twice, I finally had to close out my Credit Card. Straight Talk not helpful wanting my information. Yeah right after they committed fraud. Ugh

  • Dec 27, 2017

I had been with StraightTalk for several years, but for the last year my service had declined to the point I could not make or receive a phone call unless I went outside my house. People with different services could use their phones, but mine would not make connection.

Starting in August 2017 I tried working with ST to fix the problem. First we changed out the SIM card, no better. Then they had me send in my older phone and they sent me a replacement. I still had no service, so I was obliged to find another provider.

Since then I have chatted, texted, messaged, phoned and written to corporate. All I get is a runaround. I've been lied to, hung up on and ignored. The rep on the phone never has any knowledge of the case, rarely speaks clear English, and does nothing except push me off to another phone number or link where they have a prepared list of phrases to say "sorry for the inconvenience, there's nothing I can do for you."

I have made multiple requests for callbacks so I could speak with someone familiar with my case, and I have had days and days of my time wasted waiting for those calls only to be hung up on, rescheduled, and put right back in the same loop.

I finally got a callback, and I was fed a bunch of prepared buzzwords like “technology exchange?” and “networking problem” and “we are unable to processes anything at this time”

Why can they do nothing? Because my phone is past the 30 day warranty period.

I've been trying to work something out with them for 4 months, but they "cannot process anything at this time" because my phone is past the 30 day Warranty Period.

I was offered two suggestions:

1. Sell the phone to a StraightTalk customer

2. Buy my own phone elsewhere and activate a new account with them that might work.

First of all, I wouldn't sell my phone to an unsuspecting StraightTalk customer. Not even an enemy.

Second...how stupid would I have to be to engage in business with them again? I've seen the lack of customer support. It's not like they are the only wireless company in the world.

I tried everything to resolve this issue, only to have my time, money and energy consumed by StraightTalk. All I want is to return their phone and get a refund. Why should I be stuck with a worthless phone because they could no longer provide the service they promised and I paid for?

I've been using Straight Talk for many years. They claim that you get unlimited talk, text, and data for $45 per month, $44 with auto pay. Now you supposedly get 10 gigabytes of data, instead of 3 or 4. I have been using auto-pay all along, but I get charged $47.96-$48.05 every month. It should be much less than this, even with taxes included. They were giving me a small discount of $1 for a while, and when my replacement credit card was delivered (after original expired - I'm assuming every bank does this?), they switched back to the $48 amount. Their excuse was that my one-year "promotion" was up. They never said that was a promotion, they said it was a discount. I know they're lying, because my daughter has the same plan and pays less than I do. She has had straight talk as long as I have. So if her lower price "promotion" hasn't ended, why did mine?

A big part of my problem is that my service keeps slowing down, for no reason. I barely use my phone off of WiFi, but every time I do, my phone is slow, or I can't use it at all. If I have 10 GB of data, why can't I download an mms message through text, or lookup my library account, without losing my service? That shouldn't use very much data at all. When I check my data usage, there is always an orange warning message there. This makes absolutely no sense to me. I recently started researching Straight Talk, and found out they had a class action lawsuit in 2016 that I wasn't aware of. Then I found this website. I see now that many, many consumers have been tricked and ripped off by them, and I consider this theft.

I want to know if there's anything we can do about it? Can we get another class action lawsuit going? They have to be stopped. You can't reason with them, because people with accents answer the phone, and they won't listen to you. They keep telling me they're going to send signals to my phone, and that I need to use another phone for this to happen. None of it makes any sense to me, and I think that they are just saying that to get me off of the phone. I have had their service for eight years or more, and I feel they owe me a lot of money, due to their fraudulent practices. I'm hoping someone out there can help me, thank you.

This company did not tell me that they would drop my business number making it impossible to port out and thus immediately putting my business in jeopardy of losing this number. I spent my weekend trying to sort this out., worrying the whole time that I may lose my number and an unknown amount of revenue as a result. I had to pay a ransom fee equal to an extra month of service. I want a refund of $38.25, the full amount of ransom that I needed to pay to port my business line. I called less than 24 hours later and they refused to even give me a partial refund.

I find them negligent in informing a customer the dangers of cancelling the service prior to porting the number. I had no idea, and they should have informed me. I also find them unscrupulous in demanding $38.25 to just release a number that they were holding. Not only did they tell me they were in possession of my telephone number, but also my credit card information.

I also have found them to be evasive and to simply try to make me go away by providing long hold times and blind transfers to a succession of Customer "Service" agents, who became increasingly difficult to understand. This, presumably, to deter me and saving them the obligation of satisfying a complaint.

I was also charged $54.00 because my account was on auto-renew, even after I was told that I would not be charged. This has not yet been refunded. The confirmation number for the refund: 41259432AV27DJE

I want $38.25, a full refund that I consider their ransom demand. I want the $54 refunded as well, a total of. $92.25

Then I want them to destroy the credit card record, as they do not have my permission to hold once the refund is received and both parties have fulfilled their respective obligations.

Finally, I want this uncaring, unapologetic organization to apologize, just one time, for wasting hours of my time and putting my business in jeopardy.

On Nov.28,2017 my flip phone LG441 stopped working propperly under warranty. I called customer service 877-430-2355. I told them the phone that I have and I need a replacement phone.

Dec. 7 ,2017 I received a phone that is not the same as my flip phone, it isn't even a flip phone (WRONG GPL G 306 G )

I sent it back. Called them back told them of the issue.

Today Dec. 15, 2017 5pm I received another phone , it was the same wrong phone. I called them back and they are sending me another shipping label.

The customer service told me today that the warehouse told her that they do not stock that phone, I told her to tell them to go out and buy me on. Wal-mart sells them.

Now I am waiting for another shipping label.

I have written three letters to the CEO F.J.Pollack in Miami, and another today, with photos of my phone that I need replaced and the two wrong phones that I do not want.

I ordered a cell phone from streighttalk.com. upon opening and turning on device saw item to be defective. Returned same day. Having to pay my own return costs. After item was received I contacted the company and told them I wanted my refund and they could not find my order. I gave them information on the tracking they sent to me and the information on tracking that I sent to them. They couldn't find it still and refuse me my refund. This company is scamming people.

Straight Talk is running a data scam! I’ve had the service 4 or 5 months. Have never used more than 2 GB in a month. All of a sudden, my data is completely used up in a week or so. They are telling me that I have to add another service plan. I explained that the plan states that I get 10GB of high speed, and 2GB thereafter. They are stating that I don’t have that plan (even though that’s what my account states), and that although I’ve supposedly only used 8.30GB that my data is exhausted! They also can’t explain how all my data has just mysteriously disappeared, although my phone wasn’t even being used on two of the highest data usage dates. I was at work both those days and was not using phone nor data!

  • Aug 23, 2017

I have a monthly subscription with Straight Talk for my cellular phone service. It's fine the first half of the month but converts to low speed around the 15th of each month. So I bought 2gb extra for $10 each month for the last three months. The first month it was fone, lasted over a week until my next phone refill. The second month it took a few phone calls to get the 2gb high speed working. It finally did, until my next refill. This month was another story. I called to get the 2gb to speed my phone up again but it was still slow so I called back. It sort of sped up but not really. I called again. And again. Some call takers try to help but many don't, from my experience. I have been left on hold multiple times, blamed for the problem (data used up?? How can that possibly be in one or two days??). They argue, deny, let me sit on hold for a long time as they "try to fix the problem". And still, no speed up to a usable amount. Many photos don't load, forget watching a video. The last time I called, today, I was left on hold, scolded for it being the fault of my supposed usage. No acknowledgement of my slow speed, and the fact that I also have a monthly plan. I asked to speak to a supervisor but was stuck on hold for a long time. The call taker kept telling me that he needed to take more calls and that I should call back. I continued to hold. He told I won't get any help fromm the supervisor, who will just repeat what he said. I waited more, the call taker was pressuring me to get off of the phone. I ended the call. Nobody helped me. My $10 was for nothing. Last month I bought another $10 extra before the problem was fixed. This time I'm not giving them extra money. I feel like I was ripped off. And that they made my phone usage the problem when in truth, I should still have my basic service, plus the extra gb I bought. I am disgusted and upset.

Straight Talk cell service company has always had fairly good service with only a few issues up until December of 2016.

They went from using Sprint towers to using AT&T towers, and went to using LTE service ,and service has gone down the toilet! Where I used to have good signal, now I have spotty connectivity.

Signal drops constantly, calling is a crap shoot at best!!

Because of spotty connections, whenever a text is sent to my phone and the signal is in and out, they will send the message over and over again!!

I get multiple, identical texts from the same person or company. Today, I got my text offer from Subway 7 times!!

This is by far, not the first or even the fifth time that's happened!!

I also got a frantic phone call from my brother today, 7/17/2017, because ST reached into my text history and re-sent him a message from 4 months ago when I was in trouble and needed his help!! He has Trac-Phone and has to pay for every text and every minute on a call!! I clean out my inbox every couple months and that particular message was deleted a long time ago!!

Oh, and the message I am referring to above? I sent that as a group message to my brother AND my sister. She LITERALLY just called me wondering what was wrong. Unbelievable!! That message was from 4-5 months ago!!

Seriously, as soon as I can afford it, I am switching carriers!!!

I have been with Straight-talk since 2008. I dropped my phone and cracked the screen in March 2017 and bought a replacement on the straight talk website. The purchase was automated including the choices I was given for cell phones designed to work in my area according the the web sites calculating my demographic details. Soon reviving my new phone I had no service from my home to about 5 miles away. As I reported the incident I was informed that I never had service at my location and I would have to pay for a phone and service I could not use.

  • May 8, 2017

I had called Straightalk on the May 2nd, 2017, and told a rep that I was going to Mexico the next day, and wanted to find out if my phone would work there. She said that it would work if I purchased the unlimited international plan. I explained to her that I would only be in Mexico for 1 day/1 night, and I wanted to keep in touch with my family when I get there.

I was very specific about my questions because in October 2015, before we traveled to Mexico, my wife and I both purchased a roaming plan but when we got there, my wife was unable to roam with her Straighttalk phone, while I was able to do so with my sprint phone. So I wanted to make sure if there was any setting on my phone that would make it work this time, or if this service was still unavailable but saleable. She said all I had to do was to set my phone's setting to roaming and I did so over the phone with her.

I asked her again if she was sure that it would work, and yet this lady lied insistently that I would be able to roam in Mexico, if I purchased the $60 plan, so I purchased this plan.

When I got to Mexico Wednesday, I wasn’t able to call or receive voice/ text from the US or Mexico. Apart from its calculator function, my phone was totally useless to me. If they had told me the truth, I would have found another option to keep in touch with my work and family, but I was consistently lied to. I was really disappointed.

To make matters worse, when I called the customer service on May 7th so that I could complain about the lie that I was told and ask for a refund. They blew me off and kept saying, “We don’t offer roaming plan service.”

Then I asked to speak with their manager, who happened to be Juille, Romo rep ID:10803. He was even worse. He was so rude and never apologized or agreed that I was given the wrong information. Even though he was able to look into his records, which showed that I purchased the plan on Tuesday for the sole purpose of my travel and that afterwards, I had no activity on my phone on Wednesday after I got to Mexico. All he kept saying like a mantra was, “we don’t offer roaming plan.”

This has happened to us twice now, and I have learned from the experience, but I don’t want other people having the same bad experience with Straightalk and their deceitful customer service reps. They don’t have a roaming plan with their unlimited international service plan.

I hag phone problems with a new phone that I had purchased. After calling straight talk and complaining, they weren't offering to help me since I didn't buy insurance on my phone. The conversation turned into me complaining a lot since my new phone was not working correctly. The representative hung off on me. I went to call back, my phone would not work. I called back from another phone, I found out Thai my phone had been blacklisted and de-activated. They told me that I had reported my phone stolen from a vehicle in a parking lot. They totally lied, my phone that I had just spent $130.00+$45.00 for service would not work at all. Since the representative was mad at me, they lied saying that I reported my phone stolen. This allowed them to turn off the service to the phone that I had just purchased. I never did report muy phone stolen at all, they lied. I lost work and lost money due to them shutting my phone down.

Straight Talk User. [email protected] Pass. lauren16 Www.signalboosterregistration.com Complaint. On February 17, 2017 I switched my cell service from Simple Mobile to Straight Talk Wireless. From September 2016 -Mid-January 2017, I had Straight Talk but switched to Simple Wireless. However, when I called the automated number for Straight Talk to switch back I requested to keep my same phone number which I got from Straight Talk in September 2016. After registering, I received a Welcome text message (attached) from Straight Talk that said my requested number was transferred to Straight Talk. But, after making a few calls to friends, I realized my phone was changed I then called Customer Service where I spoke with agents five times over 2 days who had no idea what happened and did not or could not fix the problem. I spend over 1 hour to two hours with each call to no avail though they all told me the problem was fixed.

Finally, I asked for a supervisor who told me I would receive a new SIMS card within two days that would fix the problem, all I had to do is call back when I received it. I did call back on February 23 and spent over 3 hours on the phone with 2 agents. The second one called me after the first one hung up the phone after being on the phone over 2 hours with her. I was finally told the number would transfer to my phone after one hour. However, the number still hasn't transferred back to me. I have several work, business, family, and personal contacts that the old number were on file with. It has affected my work and livelihood.

I purchased a straight talk phone from Walmart on Sunday Jan. 16th, 2017

One day after activating this phone it stopped making outgoing calls and would not accept an incoming call. I called straight talk to see if they could determine what the problem was. I was on the phone with the technical support representative for 2 1/2 hours.

The representative decided the phone was defective because after going through all of the settings there was not a "PRL" option. The representative said there should have been a "PRL" option. Since the phone did not have the option I was told it was defective and to take it back to Walmart for a full refund.

Straight Talk said there is nothing that they could do for me.

This company stole $80 from me. They took my money and did not provide me with service after day 1 of having the phone.

The customer service representative did not try to help me at all.

Somebody needs to do some serious investigative work in regards to this company.

This company is dishonest and needs to be reported and SHUT DOWN!!!!!

The representative said there isn't even a manager to speak with!

What the HECK!!

I would like it if someone would please get back in touch with me regarding this company.

I'm about ready to write a letter to CBS NEWS along with all of the negative feed back on your website pertaining to the Straight Talk Company

I was looking to get a phone for both of my grandchildren, they wanted a Galaxy s5 and i decided to try Straight Talk SmartPay because i could get each one a phone and pay over time for it. I did the credit check and it said i was approved for up to $700 which wouldve been perfect because each phone was $275 each. I completed the first one (which ended up costing me $93.63 in fees and deposits) and went to do the second one and it told me i was only allowed to do one which made no sense to me so i decided to cancel my order for the first one. I called and the guy i talked to told me to go to straight talk order cancel and follow instructions which i did twice just to be sure it was done. It said that i may still receive the item in the mail but if i do just send it back and i will receive a refund. Well they did end up sending it and i sent it back the same day (unopened). One week later i received an email saying they received it but i would NOT be getting a refund.

I was extremely baffled and mad as expected. I called and was on hold for 56 minutes before getting someone on the phone, the Indian guy i spoke to could hardly speak english but i was able to make out what he was saying that i was NOT going to receive a refund but couldnt tell me why so i asked to speak to a manager, 43 more minutes later one got on the phone. After 10 minutes of explaining again what happened he told me that i sent the phone back to the wrong place to get a refund, i explained that i sent it back to the sender and that is what i was told to do. He told me i was supposed to send it to Quality One which i had never even heard of much less knew anything about. He told me i could contact them for a refund. I called them (which someone actually picked up on the 2nd ring!)

The lady told me they dont do refunds and i didnt send it back with a RMO(?) and since i didnt i wouldnt get a refund anyways. I told her i canceled the order and told her how i canceled it and she told me i couldnt cancel it that way which is exactly how the Smart Pay guy told me. So basically im out of $93 and a phone because of how the SP guy told me to cancel my order. Ive read 2 other cases of the same thing happening to others. They are a scam company and i highly discourage anyone from doing business with them!!!

Straight Talk charged my bank account for 30 days of service, then disconnected the phone anyway. I have spoken to 9 people at straight talk l. The only thing these people have done is blame everybody else. My bank has suggested I file a dispute for the charges since I have not recieved the services, but I still have no phone service. One woman at straight talk put her phone on mute and ignored me for 25 minutes. Several times I had to get her attention by yelling into the phone to get her to respond and tell me anything. Another woman was completely disrespectful and kept making rude comments under her breath. One man told me that there was a system glitch and my phone wpuld be reactivated only to charge my account again (without authorization) and have those charges be denied. Of course I didn't have the funds, they already took them. This company is a rip off with nothing but liars and theives in their employ. I am finding a new cell phone prrovider and never looking back. Do not buy straight talk wireless products!!!

I have been with straight talk for about 4 years off and on. And everything has gotten worse. Such as when I buy a 45.00 unlimited plan after I reach my data allowance they shut my phone off. When I call costumer service they tell me that they didn't do it. I though unlimited meant unlimited

Well even though it was the Indian Fool idiot who sent the wrong card these F'n a**holes would not send a new sin card out overnight. Being the day I'm not going to have the use of my phone till next week because of these F'ing a**hole fool! Straight Talk is a S**T company!!!!!!!!!

STRAIGHT TALK CUT OFF SERVICES TWICE AFTER BEING PRE PAID BOTH TIMES. Our credit card company said a refund is due us, but that is why we were cut off services the second time, because we disputed charges. Now they want to be paid a third time to restore services, being paid on a prepaid phone card.

April 2016 our credit card company called our home concerned to a potential risk to our account. They said they suspected a scam from the Philippines regarding someone who got a hold of our credit card number. They were saying they were MICROSOFT and trying to bill us. Our credit card suggested they change our credit card number immediately. We agreed.

The next day our Straight Talk phone was turned off. We did not have the new credit card or info, so we immediately put a payment on a second credit card - just to restore services.

I called our credit card company who agreed we paid twice for one phone/plan, and agreed we overpaid. So they put a dispute on our account in order to restore our money back to us. That next morning, Straight Talk shut off phone services for that phone again.

Now Straight Talk is telling us that in order to restore services I must remove the despute, which I agreed to. They said this would restore our phone services in 24-48 hours. So I did that, although that meant I was ripped off from having not getting a refund of my overpayment. In order to get that money back, my credit card company said we would have to start a new dispute. And now S.T. said it is not 24-48 hours, but 7-10 business days in order to get restored (which I already told my credit card company to cancel the dispute). AND NOW STRAIGHT TALK SAID IN ORDER TO GET ANY SERVICE WE MUST BUY PRE-PAID PHONE CARDS IN ORDER TO CONTINUE SERVICE ((ALTHOUTH THEY HAVE BEEN PAID TWICE ALREADY)).

S.T. told my husband they don't renew services once a dispute and phone is turned off twice, although our credit card company agrees we have prepaid not once, BUT TWICE!! Now S.T. demands we prepay a third time to restore services.

S.T. played games, I recorded the entire conversation where the "manager" was shouting at me, and put me on hold and refused to talk ever again - - indefinately leaving the phone on his end "on hold". In fact, my call waiting beeped in twice, and the entire thing was recorded on video.

On January 22nd, I ordered two iPhone 5's. Cancelled the order, same day. Phones still shipped. Refused delivery when UPS attempted to deliver. Items were returned to Straight Talk. Called Straight Talk same day. I was told that while they saw the items were scheduled to be returned Monday, I would have to wait till items were returned to to be given a refund. Items were received on Feb 1st, to date, no refund. On March 1st, they debited another payment for the phones from my account, although they already had the phones returned to them for a month. Numerous calls, and emails prove fruitless.

Back end of Nov. day after Thanksgiving I got a Samsung Galazy S4 phone with Straight Talk at Walmart. I signed up threw Straight Talk & paid for their warranity. On March 30th. broke the phone. Called Straight talk & they said I had to pay a deductible. So price when on my Discover card right away. They email me label for Fedex that evening & I sent the phone off the next day. It took a week to get to Fl. I watched the tracking code to know when broke phone got there. I would write on their site to talk to someone or borrow someone's phone to call them. I would be told I would get my phone Wed. or Thurs. or would be told 2 to 5 buisness days. Now I've been told that I didn't send the broke phone which I told them that was a lie, so told me that I sent it to late, told them that was a lie & I have the tracking number. Also lady from post office took it to Fedex for me. They are still taking money out on my Discover card the amount for the phone service. I don't have a phone to have service. They have told me so many stories. Like the phone was on back order, wonder if the only English they know is to say "Wed. or Thurs.". Don't know what to do to get my phone from them.

I purchased a hotspot device about a month ago they are stealing data and two weeks now cant access amount of data used and poor tech support i purchased a straight talk device about a month ago and every couple days the data disappears. then i have to call in to see whats going on. they say that their reports indicate that all the data is used, but that is only when they try to credit back data and the previous data that was on there disappears. for the last two weeks, i have not been able to even access my data usage because their server they use UMX and the straight talk website aren't communicating with each other. because of this my balance read zero for 2 weeks and i had to add 10 gb data resulting in $100.00. The contract pamphlet allows you to check your data whenever necessary and the umx server is attached to the data, but with the communication issues they are having, i can not check the usage. on saturday the man named danny from their columbia office was suppose to add back 3 gb data when it didnt show about an hour later i called back and a man named jeff id#522627 reassured me that the 3 gb was added back even told me that i had 2974 mb almost equalling 3 gb left. neither could email me the information verifying this. i went to bed and yesterday i woke up to no gb data on my device. i proceeded to call and nanette id #511539 did her tech support and my device showed up on available wifi devices as umx$050, umx$050 2, January, and then as some foreign language symbols. she proceeded to tell me that danny had in fact added only 1 gb of data instead of the 3 like he and jeff has said. She said when he added the 1 gb it erased the rest of the gb that were available and changed the ending date. danny's was suppose to have been a credit to the account for the "glitch" as he called it. she said that once its erased it can not be added back. she got really rude with me cursed me and hung up the phone. i called back in and got maria supposedly a floor manager like danny. her id#522307 and she was supposed to help but after being on hold for over 5 minutes she came back pushing the telephone buttons in my ear and then hung up. Today, i woke up approximately 8 am est and called markmuzl id#510639 transferred me to supposedly christopher that was supposed to be a manager in technical support and he refused to give me his id#. christopher couldnt find where danny had addded the 3gb data and said i used all the data and he couldnt help me. i asked to speak to his supervisor and then a virgillo id#5221375 answers the phone and tells me he is the supervisor in the refund department. he said he researched and i wasn't getting a credit back and said i had added the 1gb data that erased my other data not Danny. then he said he was checking with the fraud department. put me on hold and came back and said they agreed with his decision. when i asked for the ext of the fraud dept and to be transferred he said he was the fraud dept but earlier he said he was the refund dept. Then he refuses to help me gives me a toll free number to the miami corporate office which ended up being ack in the philipines. i called back in and got samuel id#515941 from philipines as well the corporate office number that virgillio had given me. he gives me two more numbers for the corporate office with extension numbers both of these ended back in the philipines. the 2 numbers they had given me for the corporate office in miami was 18668061840, 13057156500 ext 1029, 18006264883 ex 1029. finally after 3 hours today i got throught to someone named april at the "corporate" office in the philipines. after an hour with her and telling her i was going to report this fraud to the fcc she adds 4gb data back on my device. i asked her why so many names are associated with the device i bought and she said when people go into the account and work on the device that their name attaches to the device itself. i am starting to wonder if they take the wifi credit they issue out off of another person's account and thats why the date misteriously disappears while you sleep.

This was the complaint i filed with the bbb, the fcc, and the ftc on March 1st. It is absolutely horrible and seems like the miami address they use just for trade agreements and is ficticious, because you never get anyone there when you call. You always get someone in the Phillipines even the Home Office Headquarters in the Phillipines.

Right now I am still struggling and fighting with them cause after this i had added 5gb and they refused to add it back after their customer service person credit the account... finally they added it back but when they did the data disappeared the following day, and had to call back in to the VAS department to get it refreshed. 2 days later the 5gb disappeared again and the same thing happened. this is only after you are on hold for almost an hour waiting to speak to someone and go through 3 or 4 call ins about te same issue, because they refuse to help you as a customer. Then 2 days ago it disappeared again after i was reassured that i had almost 4gb. They are refusing to give it back. One person swore they added it to my reserve, but when the website updated guess what?? the data disappeared again.

They are theives, liars, and i can see when their techs are in my account cause it shows on my hotspot device as another available connection. So i told the man tonight that maybe if they would sign out of our accounts when they are finished working then this wouldnt happen. Their web server UMX (Unimax) has never responded to my email or answered my calls. the Website doesnt communicate with the webserver, and you can not check your data usage because it is almost always unavailable which is a breech of initial contract and false advertising.

I bought the Straight talk kit because I am on a fixed income and I am trying to get my monthly bills as low as possible and my verizon Plan was too high so in order to lower my bill I went with Straight Talk. When trying to change my Verizon over to Straight Talk I find out that my iphone 6 plus was not compatible with their service. I was told to take it back to Wal-Mart where I bought it only to find out that they couldn't refund my money because the first agent tried to put my phone with a new number thru so the kit was usless to them. The 2nd agent I talked to told me to send it back to them and they would refund me my money after they recieved it. I have called a few more times but as of yet, nothing. Oh ya they informed me that they recieved the kit after I gave them the tracking number and it would be 30 days until I would recieve my refund, almost 2 mounths now.

My flip phone (LG) died. I called Straight Talk and they said they'd send me a brand new free phone and all I would need to pay is the $30 card like that which I'd been using for over two years now. They said they'd transfer the due date to the new phone and when it expired I would then refill the phone. It sounded like a good deal.

When the phone came and I charged it, I called Live Chat and the representative, "Nandy" transferred the due date and 782 minutes remaining to the new phone. I couldn't access my voicemail to set up my greeting so I called Live Chat again tonight. This time I spoke with "Cynthia."

She did some programming on her end and said it would now work. It didn't. i also asked Cynthia where I had to go to see how many more minutes remained because when I clicked on Prepaid, all I could see was the due date, not the minutes remaining.

Cynthia checked and came back to tell me that there weren't any options to check on the amount of time I had left on my particular phone. She said I'd have to contact Straight Talk to find out my balance. She told me she just checked and I had 275 minutes left.

She came back on the line and told me to press a code and that now I could set up my voicemail. When I did, I got a message that I couldn't make the call because there was no money on the account.

I told her something must be wrong because I didn't use up 500 minutes in two days since my new phone arrived. Meanwhile, I had opened another tab on their Straight Talk portal and found a tab to check balance under My Accounts. When I did, it said I had 0 minutes left. Thus, someone cut my minutes at Straight Talk because the only call I made was to a friend for approximately 55 minutes.

I suspect that Straight Talk manipulated my minutes and stole them from me so that I would be compelled to use the car they sent me to use once my due date of 1/26 arrives. Then why did they tell me they'd transfer what I had left? They lied.

Anyway, Cynthia said I'd need to call another number because this would require talking with someone on the phone. Now how do I do that since they stole my minutes from me? I told Cynthia I want to send back the card and get a refund, so I asked her for the address. She said the investigation team I needed to send the card to to get a refund didn't have an address.

Should I send the card to the address where the phone was sent to me from along with the card itself?

So the "free" phone wasn't free after all. They stole from me and obviously had it all planned, pretending to transfer what I had left to the new phone when in reality they never did it in the first place.

Is this any way to treat a customer who has been a customer for about 2 1/2 years? Well, they just lost another one!

I bought a $45 Straighttalk phone card at Walmart in Albuquerque, NM on 9/2/2015. I called Customer Service and entered the PIN from the card. Right at the end of the call, I was told that this card would be credited to ANOTHER number! I have not been able to reach anyone from this company at all. All their phone numbers go to an automated menu system with no "Speak to a human" choice. I tried taking the card back to Walmart with the receipt and they would do nothing about it. They kept saying "It says right here on the card No Refunds". I said "I don't want a refund, I want to exchange it for another card". They would not budge even though there was a sign right there that said "Satisfaction Guaranteed through refund, exchange, or store credit". I told them that their sign was a big fat lie, to which they said "I'm sorry sir but we can't do anything about it".

The combination of Straighttalk and Walmart is a giant ripoff machine! My wife was in the hospital in Intensive Care and has since passed away. What a bunch of cold hearted people! I still have the receipt and the card. I paid for it with my debit card, too. What can be done about this?

  • Sep 25, 2015

Unlimited means with out a limit at least until service end period. But when I receive a text saying that I have reached my data limit 3days after purchasing my service card that is not unlimited. False advirtisment!!!! There is unlimited talk and text until service end date but not data. It's all a money making scam because they know that if they put the data limit on the service cards and in the ads they would not get customers.

  • Sep 5, 2015

Having been a straight talk customer for years, i was surprised to get an email stating i was reaching the limit of my data usage. I always buy their $45 monthly plan which states unlimited, phone, text and data. I called and talked to a representative who informed me they didnt have unlimited data plan. I told her it states that on the plan card. She apologized for that. Told her it was false advertising, she apologized for that. No resolutions. This is a case of false advertising.
