This company called saying they were from my power company and asked a few questions about my power bill.At first i thought it was my power company.They asked about some specic info. on my bill and told me my name key would be the first 4 letters of my last name.They gave me a 1 800 # and she told me her name was Roxann.She gave me the rate i would be paying per KW Hour and said it was secure fixed rate for 6 months and would recieve verification in the mail.I compared the rate with the rate i was paying on my bill and found it was higher and questioned her about this.She i would recieve a new rate in September but not that it would be lower.I then told her i wanted nothing to do with this and hung up.
Starion Energy preys on the elderly and the les informed. Rates promised low and they do start low. Within months the rate goes up fast. After a short time they call to confirm you want to continue electic service, at say .903 per KW hour, variable.
They will play back recorded conversations, and the way the ask the question was makes it seem they are asking if you want your electic to continue. In about one year rate went to nearly 22 Cents per KW hour. No explantaion offered. Only founf this out when reviewing this person elderly bill.
Deceptive. Stay away! Heard they are about to transfer customers to another company.
