Spinnaker Resorts Reviews

12/31/16 I received a phone call offering a vacation in my choice of Spinnaker resorts. It was an "end of year special offering" and I bought this 4 night vacation to be taken at Ormond Beach FL. The extra offerings were $100 cash, meal tickets, and voucher for cruise. I checked the online pictures of the Spinnaker resorts that I was led to believe I would be staying at. Once arrived at the location, we were told that our room was down the street. We were placed in a 2 star hotel, Best Western.

Our vacation arrival date was 4/6/18. We arrived at the meeting scheduled the next day. The Spinnaker representative was cordial and respectful. He listened to my complaints about being misled. We spent a significant amount of time and money with flights, rental car, etc. I felt this company and or marketing folks used a bait and switch tactic by presenting their beautiful hotel as the actual hotel we would be staying in and then placing us, and most likely others, in a substandard hotel.

We did receive the $100 check from Spinnaker as well as food coupons and cruise voucher. It remains to be seen whether the coupons and voucher will have value as expected.

I also purchased a vacation package for my daughter and her family. Their vacation is in Spinnaker NC resort. It should be interesting to hear what hotel they are placed in. Even though the online pictures that the marketing rep referred to are quite beautiful, I'm certain that they will also be placed in some 2 star hotel down the road from that expected hotel.

Lesson learned. Hope others will not fall for this deceptive marketing method.

We purchased a timeshare from the French quarterin Branson Missouri, we were charter members purchasing the very first building for the French Quarter at the time of purchase we were given a perk that was called the escapes this was given only to the buyers of the first building. The escapes was you could go and stay at the condo and not use your week if there was availabilitya one bdr was $60. for either one night or up to a week for the same $60. A 2 bdr was $80. This is why we purchased the condo and our only reason as we live 130 miles away. As time went on we paid for the 3 bdr in full paid our maint fees yearly fulfilled our commitment.

Then Spinnaker took over the French Quarter and did away with the escapes program instead of honoring it like an honorable company should. They expected us to honor our commitment but the same doesn't apply to them. in the mean time we stayed one more time using our week upon entering the 2 bdr a man and two children come walking out of the back bedroom said he was sorry and walked by me out the door, and in the lockoff unit the 1 bdr there was a gray fuzzy turd floating around in the toilet and in the shower was a rusty water line all the way across the shower liner, nasty! we havent been back and they have raised the maintenance fees past reasonable. our biggest regret is ever buying a timeshare, especially dealing with this bunch of jerks at Spinnaker.

Spinnaker resorts based in hilton head south carolina has not returned our deposit of over five thousnad dollars since may of 2016. we cancelled our contract within the thirty days and requested our money be returned. as of today we haven't heard a word from them.

i am going to write to the attorney generals of ct where we live, georgia, and florida where we looked at a condo in ormond beach. we were not happy with the dealings of selling one of our time shares and the wording of their contract regarding the sale so we cancelled. i'm going to ask the attorney generals offices to assist us and am also going to file with each states consumer reports.

we should have had our check long ago. someone told us we will never see our money but i will do all i can to make sure we do receive it, we are both retired and cannot afford to let them keep our money

i advise everyone to think twice before dealing with spinnaker resorts regardless of what they tell you.
