When I went to refinance my VA mortgage again as rates had dropped more, the loan was set to be completed (notary was scheduled) and called off.
I asked why, pushed, and the loan officer (who I called first) stated that there are rules around times a VA loan can be refinance.
I asked how this loan got through their process, through an underwriter, only to be stopped when we are ready to complete it. I dont know the laws.
He said it was missed but I looked this company up and they were in trouble with the CFPB for refinancing loans that are VA too soon!
This happened in September of 2020 and they were in trouble in July of 2020. This is a very big concern. I went elsewhere and started over.
