Sousa Renovations Inc Reviews

  • Jul 17, 2017

I contacted a contractor on Craigslist who said he was a licensed contractor that knew how to do floors.

I met with contractor Gino Demetro and his brother Jesse Demetro who requested 1/2 up front costs: $750, and balance once finished. I wrote him a check for $750 on 7/7/2017, he cashed the check on 7/7/2017. I also took a picture of his drivers license since he said he didn't bring his business paperwork with him. He promised to email me a receipt and contract, but he never did.

When I went to the home to review work on 7/13/17, a contractor named Wilson that worked for S.R.I. Flooring (Sousa Renovations, Inc) stated that I needed to give him another $950. When I told Wilson that I already paid the deposit to Gino Demetro, he threatened to walk away from the job stating that he was not going to finish until he received additional money. I noticed that his license number was not on his truck, so I took a picture of his truck sign and the number on the sign (Sousa Renovations, Inc.,732-768-0588)

I then told Wilson at S.R.I. that I would call the guys that I originally spoke with (Jesse and Gino Demetro) and pretend that the floors were done so that they would come back to the house to receive the balance, in that way Wilson and I could both confront them since we both suspected a scam at that time. Wilson said that he would also text Gino and Jesse Demetro and said that he would text them that he finished so that they would not suspect anything and come back to the house to receive final payment. Wilson said that he didn't know who Jesse and Gino were, so I sent him a copy of Gino's license. Wilson said that he obtained the lock box code from his boss Nick. I was able to get Nick's number: 908-502-2037.

Wilson packed his things and left the house, and I then continued to contact Jesse Gino until reaching Jesse on 7/16/17. Jesse said that the work was finished, and we then argued on the phone until he terminated the phone call.

Not really sure if all of them are working together or not, but it sure seems like they are.
