Without my approval I was signed up for vip privileges. It was a monthly charge of 14.95. If I hadn't noticed it on my credit card listings I would have continued to have that monthly charge until I noticed it. I called the phone number on the VISA monthly statement. My membership in their vip club was closed and a refund was issued. This is the email I received:

In 2018 I ordered a couple of Christmas presents from Signals. I very definitely did nothing to join their VIP Insider program or to authorize charges to my credit card other than for the purchases I made that day. Apparently one must be inhumanly careful while checking out to avoid being subjected to this rip off. I NEVER EVER sign up for things like this or authorize any payment other than for my immediate purchase. The company denies any intention to defraud, of course, but this practice of theirs is clearly fraudulent.
I never signed up for Signals VIP Insider Membership yet I was charged $14.95 for monthly membership on December 27. This is a huge ripoff since 1) the cost is $179.40 per year! and 2) I never requested it. I ordered 2 items from them in early December: a dish towel and a silver "peapod" necklace. They took advantage of my credit card to begin a monthly billing of a membership I never signed up for. I am waiting for a refund.
USA*Signals VIP Insider - Somehow this has been applied to my credit card as a membership service. Found this website when I first found the charge this last few months. Monthly charges on my credit card for the last 15 months after investigating the fraud. But can't find the link of how this was applied to my credit card.
My Fraud department had suggested some type of online purchase I made applied this monthly charge since 12/15/17. Several months had multiple charges adding up to almost $500.00 of charges peppered throughout my charges that I didn't catch because they blended in with my busy use of this card
Made several purchases through the Signals catalog prior to Christmas Holidays and paid for those purchases with my Amex card.
I didn't notice there was this additional monthly recurring charge from "USA Signals VIP Insider" of $14.95 until my March 2018 statement. I don't even know if it's the same company!
I called and cancelled immediately but still disputing the charges since I NEVER would have agreed to an automatic charge of $14.95 EVERY MONTH for what I don't even know! In fact I never authorize anyone to retain my credit card information.
They should refund all these "subscription" charges. I Know that I'm not the only one who has been taken advantage of by this scam and I believe they should stop this underhanded billing practice!!
I didn't see the other reports by people ripped off by this company before I made the mistake of doing business with them. I received a catalog just before Christmas and they had a coffee cup that I liked so I ordered one. That's it...one little coffee cup.
After entering my credit card information a screen appeared that said if I gave them my email address I would get free shipping. I did so and then a screen appears saying that I had now joined their "VIP" program for which I will be charged $14.95 a month for the rest of my life. I called them immediately and told them I don't want that "service" and even tried to cancel the order that I had just made 2 minutes earlier. No dice. They said they could neither cancel the service nor the order because it too soon. They said I would have to wait until I'm actually billed for the "service" and then call them.
I then went to the internet and I saw several reports by people who were also ripped off by these fraudsters. As all crooks hope for, many of the people didn't realize they were being charged every month until many months went by.
There is absolutely no warning whatsoever that this "VIP" service (costing you $14.95 a month) is being added until after you click on the "free" shipping button. We all know what they are hoping for, that you don't notice the charge until months later (if ever) and meanwhile they steal almost $180 a year, for which, if you ever happen to order anything else from them, they will ship it without charging you....wow, what a great deal...pay $180 a year in case you buy another coffee cup!
