I paid my 1 time fee to have the services of this company for entire 12 month cycle. They said the would help me find an apartment in Atlanta GA. I do not live in Atlanta but I was accepting a job there. I was given a month to move. I contacted Second Chance Rent Program over the phone to express my issue. I had already paid for a trip out of the country for July 26-29 and I had to start my new position on the 10th of the following month (August). I talked to them over the phone for the first time on the 7th or 8th of July. They assured me that I would be placed before the 26th which was great news to me. Sounded (like all schemes) too good to be true. I paid the fees and for the next week, they sent me emails about a bunch of hopla that didn't pertain to me; Rent to Own websites, Fix your credit websites and a link to a few Realtors that were salesmen. All I wanted was an apartment. I spent the next 2 weeks calling, leaving messages, sending emails, fax only to be told "yea, drive to Atlanta in the morning and by the time you get there, I will have you a list of places to pick from" which I did. Not just once, not just twice, but 3 times. All 3 times, I dove hours to Atlanta just to sit on the side of the highway, calling a number that nobody would answer, waiting hours on end, just to turn around and drive hours back home. I wasted about 28-30 hours of my time, and lots of gas money for nothing. I start my job in less than a week and I can't seem to get anyone to pick up the phone. If they would have been honest and said "now we have your money, just an FYI, this is a scam" I would have been ok. But to string me along and put my career in danger so you can collect a $99 fee, that's low. Do not use these people. I told them that I was in a bind and only wanted to deal with real people. I thought my explanation that my family being on hard times is the reason we are moving and if anything funny was to happen, it could be devastating to our morale and well being. Thanks for for putting me in this position. But if I'm the one that paid money, why am I also the one taking it up the a*s, with no Vaseline. Double Screwed.
