I purchased this phone for my mother on February 21, 2019 via Ebay and using PayPal to complete the transaction. The phone was listed as New/Other, meaning that the box had been opened. Last week, I was told that the phone has been listed as Lost/Stolen when I attempted to add minutes/data to my mother's phone.
I contacted the seller (Santa Monica Wireless) and the representative responded that they would contact Verizon and Page Plus to find out what is going on. However, no one has responded to my emails asking for an update. I contacted Page Plus again yesterday and I was told that the phone is still listed as lost/stolen. I went to a few websites and learned the the IMEI is also showing that it is blacklisted.
I purchased the phone for $487.95 and this is a very expensive scam that I got myself and my mother into. I received a faulty phone that was stolen by some other innocent party and this company is still continuing to sell who knows how many stolen merchandise. I will happily send whatever information you need, including the conversations between Page Plus and I (they sent the conversation) and the sites where the IMEI has been listed as blacklisted.In addition to the $487.95 I was robbed.
I purchased what was to be a refurbished cell phone (Galaxy S9) for $500.00 on ebay that was to be free and clear and unlocked! 5 months later it would not connect to the cell network except on WIFI.
So I had taken it to my cell carrier and they stated that it has been locked do to lack of payment. All cell carriers do this to keep customers from signing up for service with a free phone than NOT paying the bill and selling the phone. This can often take up to 6 months for the phone to get locked.
I reached out to Santamonica Wireless and was told that they would look into this. Later recieved a notice from them that it could take up to 10 days to get it unlocked. 10 days later and nothing still locked.
20 days later and I contacted my cell carrier againg just to be told that there has been NO inquieries on this cell phone and the holder that has not paid for it is SantmonicaWireless.
I've reached out to them again with NO reponse.
Ebay will no do anything since it is over 90 days since the sale.
Not only had I lost a few weeks of work from the phone not working but I also had to purchase another for $800. I am self employed and rely 100% on phone calls for my work.
Santa Monica Wireless - obscure company - possibly offshore? Rip Off! Took my money and never received product. One of Walmart sellers on their Walmart.com site. I ordered a replacement set of Apple ear buds from Walmart.com. They charged my credit card, and sent a shipping notification on Sept 13, 2018. I tracked it, and it said it was OUT FOR DELIVERY. Three weeks in, I Tracked it and it was OUT FOR DELIVERY... still nothing. Post office said it never came in... never showed up at my physical address or Postal box, or at the Walmart store. No one knows anything. No working phone number to call to report. Walmart points the finger at this third party and will not keep them from selling on their Walmart.com site. No customer service, no legal address listed anywhere, no phone number. Perhaps not even a legitimage business?
I ordered a charger from third party seller Santa Monica Wireless on walmart.com. It arrived cracked and did not give a charge even after pushing it back together. I went to walmart to return it but they said contact seller as it is third party item. After contacting seller they would not offer refund or replacement.
