The Russel country trash department didn't even try to notify me that my exempt status was about to expire or renew. They sent a letter demanding payment or I would be arrested taking to court or even go to jail over a garbage bill. But what upsets me the most is I was exempt. I complained to the attorney general office about their bad business practices.
But the manager lied through her teeth about me to the attorney general office. They claim they did notify me by mail which I received nothing or I would have contacted them to get it renewed for another year but they didn't let me after I received the letter. I had to ask help from family to get my bill current so I wouldn't go to jail.
There is no debtors prison but in Phenix city/Russel county there is. The trash used to be with my water bill but they separated from the water & they nothing but crooks & harassers ever since. Because the police are on the business side which is why they treat customers badly in this town. They can do what ever they want.
