Rooster Ridge Car Care Reviews

  • Jan 20, 2021

This nightmare started on 12/19/20 with Rooster Ridge. I’ve never in my life encounter such crooks.

Throughout this process, I’ve sent numerous emails and calls with the owner “ Jessie Miller with no success. He continues to lie and ramble about warranties that simply do not exist for the fraud Rooster committed. I just get the run around. What I did not know at the time Rooster Ridge just changed their name from Driver Auto only two months ago. I assume to avoid detection of the one-star rating of Jesse’s Driver Auto. The reviews on the internet are fake!

My son’s vehicle had a tune-up on 9/3 and inspection on 12/8 with no problems noted. We noticed the coolant warning light was on in my son's car. On 12/19, my son saw a warning light indicating the coolant was low. I suggested he stop by a station to help him put coolant into the car. He contacted me shortly after that, stating that Rooster found a leak and the radiator needed to be replaced. I told my son not to do anything to the car, and I was coming to speak to them personally. My son is only 18 years old with limited life experiences.

By the time I arrived, the car was on the rack and parts everywhere. Before my arrival, my son told Sierra my mom prefers working with the dealership, and Sierra told him the BMW dealership price was $3500, and they will only charge $1900 for repairs. The cost to replace at the dealership is not $3500; that is incorrect. I also requested an itemized statement; she refused to provide it, promising me it is only 1900 to repair. I knew this is a red flag. I wish I followed my instincts to tow the car to my mechanic , who are certified to work on German vehicles –

We picked the car up on 12/20, and on 12/22, the coolant light was on again, leaving my son stranded 50 miles from my home.

On December 23rd, we towed the car back to Rooster since coolant light comes on again.

Sierra assures me technicians are certified (I will find out if this is true if necessary) – they would take care of it.

At 5:08 that evening, my son drives a few miles not only the coolant light came back, but the engine did not sound right either.

Fortunately, my son was not far from Rooster Ridge's store, so we dropped the car off again.

On December 24th, we picked the car up and noticed the car did not sound quite right.

On December 26th, the coolant light came on again, and the car was overheating.

After three breakdowns, it is obvious rooster ridge could not fix the problem due to their incompetence.

I paid for a tow to my mechanic To inspect the coolant leaks in a BMWs, you need to pull out the radiator. The hose which connects the radiator has a "Quick connect" fitting that locks in versus American cars; you plant it down. My mechanic replaced the hose; the vehicle was running for about a week later. I contacted Jesse Miller the owner of Rooster Ridge and instructed me to contact his warranty company. I have explained several times to him to no avail – his warranty does not cover for work not performed. I even sent him a copy of the warranty limitations which he simply ignores.

For VPS Radiator Protection Pack, Rooster charged $132.78, but it leaked out since it was fixed properly.

On, 1-13-2021- the coolant light came on again (approx a week later)

My Mechanic diagnosed that Rooster installed the WRONG Rooster installed in the car. BMW has two different radiators – one with an aux cooler ( the correct one) and one the one that Rooster Ridge installed.

The radiator Rooster installed is for BMW's without radiator plugs, so there is no place for the coolant to flow, and when it gets hot and expands, it is pushing out the drain plug. My mechanic spoke to Rooster Ridge and contacted their vendor, 1-800 Radiator, who clearly states they do not sell the radiators with aux cooler. Roosters gave me a warranty for a radiator that does not fit my car. Even on the radiator box theres a the technical notice

"two precision Engineered Control Sleeves )( Drain Plug Control combo unit) are included. YOU MUST MATCH THE LENGTH WITH OLD SLEEVE AND INSTALL THE CORRECT MATCHING ONE ON THE CSF RAIDER TO COMPLETE INSTALLATION. Far-right is a picture of the shot sleeve you installed. The second picture shows the long sleeve ( correct one) and the short sleeve ( the wrong one you installed. ). You need the long sleeve, not the short sleeve. The total costs for the correct radiator was only $801.44 not the $2200.00 that Rooster Ridge Charged.

On the Rooster bill, there is a charge for $176.27 under "Total Fees," which I question since our bill exceeded verbal $1900 quote. Sierra stated it is taxes; the statement does not add up. Taxes are 8.5%. Its obvious Rooster padded the bill by $176.

Jessie the owner alleged it was shop fees or what Rooster called "total fees" for the undisclosed amount of $175.00, charged for nuts and bolts that shop with clean-up charges and whatnot. ." Rooster's helper told me their state taxes. That is a lie. I contacted BMW about this, and they started maybe $25 for Shop fees. BMW said, "we don't like to nickel & dime our customers." And they were both horrified when I told them Rooster padding the bill for $175 without my authorization. To date Jessie Miller has refused to provide an itemized list for this charge.

Besides the excessive fees, Rooster charged $2136 ( twice the market price) – plus my mechanic charge of $1301 to correct the damage Rooster Ridge caused, Towing $230 & 2 Uber trips = 122.58 – Total expense to fix Rooster's screw-up $1653.58.

The fact Rooster flaunts non-existent warranties is false and misleading advertising.

Rooster Ridge tried to fix the car unsuccessfully three times. These people are crooks and frauds. Besides, there is no warranty for a part that does not fit into the car.

"The Facility's employees and agents do not have authority to modify the terms of this Warranty nor to make any promises in addition to those contained in this Warranty." They only cover for misdiagnosis on parts do not work, overlooked. And not for wrong radiators

Per the Texas Attorney Website Rooster Ridge Violated Several Texas laws

Under the law, it is illegal to:

· knowingly make a false or misleading statement about the need for parts, replacement, or repair service.

· state that work has been done or parts were replaced when that is not true.

· Waiting until the vehicle is up on the lift and partially disassembled before getting your authorization to proceed with the repairs. By then, you are essentially forced to either authorize the overpriced repairs or risk getting your car back in a disassembled and unusable condition or pay a large and unexpected fee to have your vehicle reassembled.

Commencing work on your car without first getting your authorization, and then charging you for work that you did not authorize. • Giving you a verbal estimate for the cost of repairs, and then charging a higher price.

Telling you repairs are needed when, in fact, they are not. • Failing to disclose reassembly or inspection charges before starting repair work.

Representing to you that work or services have been done, or parts have been replaced, when they were not.

Failing to notify you, and getting your additional approval in writing, for additional work not in the original authorization.

I have also learned Rooster isn’t ASE certified- and definitely not certified to work on German cars as represented. It is imperative as a mother; my young son and friends are in a safe and reliable and safe car. Rooster's Ridge gross negligence and incompetence could have caused injury to be my son and permanent damage to the BMW. Being broken down on the highway at night in Houston is extremely dangerous.

To date the owner Jesse Miller refuses to acknowledge the mechanics incompetence and fraud. Falsely stating parts are covered by a warranty when in it is not which is false and misleading advertising. Presenting their mechanical abilities beyond changing oil, is misrepresentation. I would not let them even change my oil. I truly pray no must ever go through this hassle. So please stay as far away as possible from these people.
