Ron Hicks Reviews

The Owner of the Chicago Steam semi pro basketball team is a con artist. He gave me a fradulent check, post dated, then cancelled the check. I requested that Mr. Hicks not deposit the check I gave him for a phony trip he claimed the team was playing in Sweden. I contacted the office several times with no reply until the bank alerted me that the check had been cashed. I was told the check was being returned to me via US mail.

After contacting Mr. Hicks and the team several times via email and calls I was directed to contact their attorney and cease any further contact with the individuals. The attorney, Sean Patrick, immediately sent an email relating the same. After several calls and emails I was assured that the money would be returned. I agreed not to contact the police and the attorney generals office regarding the fraudulent check and senior fraud.

$2,600 for my elderly mother and myself to accompany the team to Sweden. My mom has lost 3 sons, my dad and step dad. She wanted a trip to Europe, Sweden, anywhere. I wanted her to experience this. My mom paid extra money to rush the renewal of her passport. She is on a limited income, she only worked secretarial jobs all her career. She is out of $1,300 in addition to the cost of renewal.

It wasn't until my best friend in Detroit, Michigan called me about this same man attempting to scam her as well. He became her friend on facebook through my account. He then, unbeknownst to me, persuaded her to accompany his "team" to Cuba for a tournament. She contacted me and avoided being defrauded too. We researched him at that time together and uncovered the many reports of fraud and scams he's pulled in the past.

It appears nothing is being done to this guy. He continues to commit crimes against society and is allowed to operate and remain "in business". This game needs to be shut down.
