Rick Rosas - State Farm Insurance Agent Reviews

  • Nov 27, 2019

I was with State Farm for about 15 years. I had an amazing agent in Lubbock. When he retired his accounts got divided between 2 agents. Mine automatically went to Rick Rosas. I bought a full replacement policy to insure my home’s belongings in a storage facility while I traveled for a year.

I specifically requested it be a full replacement policy and NOT an actual cash value policy. Pearl, the assistant, insured me that was what I was getting.

While I was abroad, lightening struck the roof of the storage facility directly over my unit. For weeks my electronics, leather furniture, wooden furniture, and everything I owned, was soaked with a cascading waterfall of rain pouring down from days of heavy downpour.

Upon discovering this, I immediately reported this to State Farm. They insured me I was in great condition since I had a full replacement policy. The agent came out and took pictures. I provided them with everything they requested. A total of 5 different agents spoke with me by phone over the period of 2 weeks.

They all told me how fortunate it was that I had the full replacement policy. $18000 worth of items were destroyed. I was assured I would be reimbursed for that amount. After 2 weeks, I received the final call from an agent authorized to send my check in the amount of approximately $7000 due to the fact that my policy was actual cash value and NOT full replacement.

When I initially purchased the policy from Rick Rosas, I asked Pearl to send me a copy of the policy. In fact, I requested that no less than 5 times over the course of a year. She never sent me a copy of my policy, until 3 days AFTER my claim. The copy of the policy she sent me was an actual cash value policy. Isn’t that convenient for them?

I went to discuss these matters with Rick in person at his office. He seemed sympathetic to my situation and said he would look into it. Weeks went by with him doing absolutely nothing. I called him several times to follow up and realized he was simply waiting it out and hoping I would disappear. Once I realized this, I reported him to the department of insurance. This only angered him and, of course, he would do nothing for me at that point.

Rick Rosas is nothing compared to the agent I had before. He and Pearl are both dishonest and deceitful people who have no integrity in the way they handle their business.

As luck would have it, a few years later, I was in a car accident. The man turned into my lane and smashed into my car and totaled it. It turns out, this was Rick Rosas’ uncle. This man lied to me stating that he owned a body shop and would repair my car for free if I would not report it to the insurance. I put my car into his shop, which turned out NOT to be HIS body shop.

They kept my car for nearly 4 months. I finally called the police to go with me to get my car since they would not take my calls and I could not get my vehicle from them. When I met them to get my car, it was returned to me in worse condition after the repair than it was in after the wreck.

The door was attached crooked and would not shut, the new paint job was already fading, it was ridiculous. I reported this to the police and I turned it in on the man’s insurance. They were trying in every possible way to commit insurance fraud against me to keep them from having to pay. This is how I found out that Rick Rosas was his insurance agent as well as his nephew.

These are very crooked and deceitful people. I immediately left state farm when they lied to me about my original full replacement policy. I will never use State Farm again. Then once Rick Rosa‘s uncle totaled my car and they tried to commit fraud against me, I decided people needed to be aware of this.

My only regret is not getting an attorney and going after them for insurance fraud. Stay away from this Rick Rosas and I would recommend that you stay away from State Farm in general! As a result of these two deceptions, Rick Rosas State Farm stole about $22,000 from me.
