BEWARE OF THIS SCAM! This compnay contacted me out of the blue asking me to pay upfront to rent out weeks that i do NOT own. They told me i would make $7200 dollars in 90 days if i paid them $1800 dollars upfront. I have done this before when i first bought my timeshare. I was scammed then and any compnay asking for money upfront is a SCAM.

I totally agree

Resort Vacation International contacted me today and wanted to rent out four of my weeks. (First of all, if I had four weeks, I would be using them myself). They guaranteed $5,000 within three weeks but wanted me to put $1,200 on my credit card. They further stated that the check would be a certified check and none of these transactions would affect my current WEEK. (I own only one week). I don't know how they can sleep at night and keep ripping people off. I called Westgate, who said they don't have independent companies renting their timeshares. I gave Westgate the name of the person who called me, her address, and her phone number. The first red flag was she had my name but had my address in a different city from where I live, and the address was bogus. No one in our State lives on a Lot #. PLEASE PLEASE don't listen to them. They are con artists "all day long.".

They had me purchase a program to rent out my additional weeks and said they would have guaranteed offers in 60-90 days. I did get initial offers that were unable to be processed and they were suppose to e-mail me about new offers but I never heard from them again. I have been calling their number for 2 weeks now and when I call it’s just hold music. It’s completely different from when I called before and I am unable to get through to anyone. It was suppose to be a return of $5600 for renting out my 4 weeks. So I was scammed. I paid $2196 for a 5 year program and lost it all. Do not fall for this, it’s a scam!

Definitely A Scam

I have been contacted twice in the last couple days by an Andrew Burns representing Resort Vacations International. The yarn he is spinning sounds exactly like the same scam I have been been reading about in these other reviews. Interestingly this was the site he directed me to so as to verify what he was saying was legit. What I don't understand is how they continue to get away with this rip off. By the way, Andrew's phone # is 407-362-7086. I'm thankful that no money exchanged hands as he was very convincing.

I was contacted by a telephone marketer by the name of sara whitby who misrepresented herself as being from my timeshare resort. She told me that I had 4 weeks I had no idea about and that she could guarantee they be rented in 72 hours for $7200 if I payed them upfront $1500 or $2500 to rent it out for the next 5 years. I signed a contract with resort vacation international but received a transaction on my credit card from resort travelers international. Looked them up on the BBB and they had an F rating. Clearly they are the same company just changed the name. I did some research and they are working out of 125 excelsior pkwy. Winter springs fl 32708. Which is not listed on there website. I immediately felt like this company was a complete scam and I contacted the FBI and the attorney generals office where they had informed me that they are currently under investigation for fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud. the owners Brandon Gross and Ryan O'Grady who's criminal mugshots can be seen on mugshots.com, have been opening and closing down companies over the past several years in other people's names after they rip off millions of dollars from consumers and then simply change the company name after too many bad complaints. Needless to say my properties never got rented and never received a penny of rental income. If you have been contacted by sara whitby or anyone else from this company please contact the FBI at 1800-CALL-FBI (225-5324) and file a compliant. There is a possible class action law suit that might help you get your money back

Got my money back

It took a notarized letter to get my 2400 back. I got lucky. I also canceled my card before it cleared my account. Whichever one worked. Thank God. I believe it’s a scam for real after I got a call from them trying to keep some money by lowering their price by 85%.

Definitely A SCAM

Got a call that they could rent out my additional weeks for a profit. After being transferred 4 times, they emailed me the contract, while they waited on the phone. I asked if I could have time to read over the contract before making a decision and the guy said "We get paid by the hour, so I can hold for as long as you need me to". WTH. So after reading a few lines on the contract and realizing it says something completely different from the verbal conversation, I began asking questions and the guy got irritated by my questions and began getting hostile. They wanted my credit card info, so I asked if they had guaranteed rentals why couldn't they take their fee off the rent they receive. He hung up..Sounds like a scam when they want money upfront......

Definitely a scam

This scam comes over the phone. They talk nice, but listening skills are a must for consumers in today's market. Your getaways are not for rent! Your timeshare weeks, points are valuable . Do not negotiate with sales people over the phone. Their call to my wife's phone was automatically filtered by her. She said, "It doesn't sound right nor do we want to pay any fees upfront to rent our vacation time. Just stop and think. If the offer is so good, why don't they pay you first and then collect their money, especially with all of the guarantees they make over the phone. And, read the other reviews from same type hustlers. All basically run the same scam. Bam! Gotcha! Change the company name and show up as another company. Same scam. Why? It works for them! Not for us!

I was first contacted by Alan Bright (1-407-608-5371) on 4/11/18. He left a voicemail (I still have the vm) stating he was calling about the 2018 rental options for my Interval International membership. I just that week happened to be trying unsuccessfully to get in touch with my timeshare rep about renting my time so I returned the call. Alan did not answer so I left a voicemail. I was then contacted by Sarah (1-321-234-0622, I still have a vm from her also) who said she was following up for Alan who was out of the office. Notice the two different area codes. Sarah explained I had four, one week getaways from Interval International that I could activate and then they could rent them out for me.

She said they had corporate clients already looking to rent the 4 weeks at $1400/week. All I had to do was pay $1497 which would activate the weeks and cover advertising and insurance. I also had the option of instead paying a one time fee of $2399 to repeat the process for a total of five years. Sarah explained once the weeks were rented they would mail me a certified check for the full amout of rent, which would be $5600. Once I agreed to the 5 year program at $2399, she transferred me to Paul Catineau. Paul Catineau repeated the info Sarah had given me, then gave me the following company information: Paul Catineau's direct number 1-321-320-9414, Customer Support number 1-855-443-6080, License Number TC5270, address 10244 East Colonial Dr., Suite 111, Orlando, FL 32817, and the company name RVI (Resort Vacations International).

Paul then asked if I had received a credit card when I bought my timeshare and recommended I use that one so I could get the points for using it. He took down my credit card info and then transferred me to Ashlynn for finalizing. Ashlynn made sure I agreed to everything and then emailed a contract to me that I signed electronically using DocuSign. She gave me a verification number as well. She also explained it would take 60 - 90 days to start seeing offers. What happened to the corporate clients Sarah had told me about? That was the end of the phone conversation.

The charge on my credit card for $2399 showed up from Total Resort Solutions, 108 Commerce St, Suite 105, Lake Mary, FL 32746.

The next day I received 4 duplicate emails welcoming me to the club and giving me a link to the advertisement of my timeshare on www.resortvacationsnow.com . The Property ID on my ad was #19937. Remember, all this occurred on 4/11/18, yet if you go to the website, click Rent a Timeshare, and search that Property ID, the posting date is 1/19/18. Also, every single ad on the site has the same Agent, John, and when you click his name he has no phone number or picture. He only has a link for email. Also, even though you can view several properties on the site, there is not a button to click on that says Yes I want to rent this. You can only look. I scrolled through every property on the site and could not find my ad. I could only find it by specifically searching for the Property ID. Another issue is they are advertising my timeshare and not Interval Getaways.

I have contacted Interval directly who confirmed "this is a sales call from another company trying to represent partnering with Interval....block their telephone number on your phones. Please update your passwords on your Interval account...You may book Getaways as you wish around the clock. They cannot be rented as its a live system. We do not allow renting of your deposited weeks..." I still have this email from Interval as well.

I am making this report on 4/27/18. I have not heard anything from RVI since the welcome email I received on 4/12/18. I have not tried to contact them as I don't currently have the time and I frankly don't see what good it will do. They will just say I am past the 10 day cancellation period and won't refund the money.

I believe that the company would do what they said based on display of license numbers and knew all about my timeshare information. I'm not so sure now. I know that a real estate rental compny requires a deposit to rent out a house or apartment. I believed this company was the same. I hoped not.

So glad my scam radar went up on this call . . .

I received several calls which I'd blow off as soon as they started talking about renting my time-share, but I had the time to listen the other day when Jason (407-362-7085) called. He pitched the same deal mentioned here. We need your extra weeks, we pay the fees and guest certificate, collect payment and send you a $5,800 a year, guaranteed. We use the weeks for promotions to get customers into the resorts, he said, so we can sell them timeshares. He kept saying it takes 60-90 days to get offers, but that they always complete in that time frame and I'd have my check.

Of course it sounds to good to be true, because it is!

I insisted on seeing a contract and was told he could only send it through docusign if I released the weeks. I said, "I need to see a contract before you get my money." and he said, "OK, I get it." Let's get this rolling. Asked a few questions about name, address, etc then asked for my credit card. I said, no way, I said I wanted the contract first. He said, there's no way to do that, but that it wasn't charging anything until I signed and sent back. I don't trust. Sorry. No sale, Jason.

Do not fall for this scam... This company tries to tell you that they can sell your “extra” weeks to corporate clients. They ask you to pay them up front. Do not pay them! calls from sales person were harassing, yelling, and laughing at us for not taking their “deal”. Spoke to a supervisor to complain and advised them not to call us ever again.

RVI is still actively doing this SCAM

I just bought a Timeshare and received a similar call that all of you received. These are my details that I reported to RCI. I am hoping that RCI will notify, especially new people, of this SCAM.

.....

After listening to the very friendly person, (Randi at 407-608-5360) she told me that I needed to join RCI before working with them. After addition calls, I became suspicious of what appeared to be a SCAM. I was told that I needed to activate my 4 GetAway weeks and they would sell them as corporate rentals. For the $399 a week activation fee, I would get $1400 from the rental. Of course I needed to do this "right away" since the weeks were needed now and might not be needed next week.

I put her off and looked online to find out about this RVI company. The TOP item on the web search was Better Business Bureau Complaints. I read a few and the complaints were about an offer very similar to what was being proposed to me. I happily called her back to let her know I thought this was a SCAM.

RESORT VACATIONS IS A SCAM

I received an offer in September 2018 to rent our my extra timeshare weeks. The salesman Mr J. Wright guaranteed me a minimum return of $4000 for the 4 weeks for a $1500 fee. I was told it would take 60 to 90 days. After 90 days I received a bogus offer which upon application proved not to be available. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!

SCAM

Contacted by this company who basically tried to sell me a plan that would allow me to book weeks then sell those weeks to corporations etc. I would profit by $3200 this year and $5600 each of the next 4 years under the 5 year plan.

I contacted my Timeshare vacation club and they advised me of this scam.

I received a phone call 11/5/17 from a richard rey, who transferred me to a clint brown. He said he was from the resort vacations international company and knew that i wanted to rent out my property in aruba. He made some sort of refernece to rci.

I told him that i am intersted in renting out my property, but i did not have the money up front. He then said that i can rent it out for 1 week For 300.00). Beware

I feel like I should give the rep - Paul Catineau - 5 stars for personality and charisma. It's a scam, however, as I just called Interval International and they confirmed that they do no associate with companies to sell owned shares. Interval International stated that it is scam. Do not provide information or sign a contract if you get a call from a company, most likely in Florida, that sounds like it works with your timeshare company. They asked for an activation fee of $1596 for 1 year of $1999 for 5 years and promise a minimum of $1400 a week, or something like that.

Scam .....Let’s take action

We received a call from a JOHN Salvatore stating he was from Resort Vacation International and had information about our RCI Timeshare. He guaranteed he would rent out the additional weeks offered by RCI almost immediately but for sure within 60-90 days. We reviewed his offer over and over with him re the guarantee he would rent our weeks. As we waited and waited for offers to come in we contacted them before the 60days90 days and was unable to speak with John Salvatore despite the fact he told us he would be our contact person. Here we sit with bogus offers giving us a 2-3 offers With dates that were not available to us. We have never been contacted by this company with offers unless we call to complain and the same promise is “We will send offers to you by the end of next week”.....all offers are not available. As senior citizens we feel taken advantage of and our $1600 has been stolen by this fraudulent company. Better Business and Legal action needs to be taken against this company!!!

Scam

My grandpa died before they could rent his time. Now they don’t want to refund us.

Great Results

You can trust Resort Vacation International because they are legitimate and do what's in your best interest. They are a very professional organization and I was impressed with their results in getting my time rented.
