I very much do not recommend Renfro Construction. We hired Justin Renfro March 11, 2020 to work on our rental house and he never completed the work we paid him for. He told us he would be finished in ten days and that he was in between jobs. Well he lied to us from the moment he started working for us. He was not in between jobs and he signed onto more jobs after we hired him.
He left our project for days to finish other projects. I honestly wonder if those ever got finished. He cashed 1,800.00 worth of checks for labor and a tool he was not supposed to be paid until he completed the job. We dumbly accepted his sad stories of his workers needing to be paid because some lady screwed him out of money in Cadiz. I wish I could find her! I bet she has a different story! He also GROSSLY underestimated supplies even on the first trip.
He tore out a counter and exposed a non-working fireplace in the kitchen without even ASKING us. We were upset he had done this but went along with it because he promised it would be a "free" job. He burnt some wood and attempted to box in the fireplace. We saw it, it looked horrible, and decided we better buy a mantle and asked him nicely twice to discontinue work on the fireplace both in person and in a nicely written message my husband wrote. The next day he had added more burnt would with liquid nail (we bought...not a free job) to the fireplace. Still we were patient and simply wrote him to remove the wood, leave the fireplace alone, and please finish the jobs in the house we originally hired him to do. You know paid him 1,800 in labor to do.
He left us having an unfinished bathroom, the back splash in the kitchen unfinished, fans and lights need to be re-installed in 2 rooms, the counter tops he talked us into paying for not finished, a fireplace we didn't even want exposed to fix, an unfloored bedroom, a window to finish and we have to clean up all of his mess. He also worked on the walls in a bedroom we only asked him to finish floors in. Guess what? The floors are not done and now I must pay and re-paint the room myself. A room I painted in March of last year.
He also has not accounted for all the supplies he bought, and we are missing things he bought with our money like the grinder for the backsplash in the kitchen. He also borrowed a lot of our tools including ladders, drills, nail gun etc. which I thought was strange considering he calls himself a professional. He also brought his dog with him, unannounced and children too. He had his workers wives doing work and his own sister. One morning a lady showed up to clean cabinets in the unfinished kitchen and clean the bathroom. We hired him to do the jobs I listed above not to hire people to clean before the jobs were done. Now who cleans before the construction is done? Strange, unnecessary and not what we paid him to do. I highly doubt either one of those ladies is an experienced construction worker. He also fired every single person he brought here the first day within the 4 weeks he worked for us. Seems to me if you cannot seem to keep one employee the issue is with you and not them.
If you are looking for work, I do not recommend Justin Renfro. He loves to fire people and quickly. If there is anyone out there who has also been screwed over by Justin Renfro please contact me. I would LOVE to hear your story. I am so sad that we went through his scam and I hope no one else gets scammed by him.
