QUALITY POOL EQUIPMENT Reviews

I found Quality Pool Equipment on the internet, so I gave Tom a call. He was able to get me a used 400,000BTU heater with a rebate of $300.00 from the Gas company. He dropped off the heater 4 hours late. He pulled up in a pick up truck full of pool parts. We made the deal. He told me that they take out the ignitor so it does not get damaged during the delivery. So, he hands me a new box and tells me it the ignitor is in it. I take it and put to the side. He takes off. I go to open the box and find a totally burned up used ignitor inside the box. I called Tom and he says that he will send me a new one. Well, almost a week later I get the ignitor and a touch pad for the heater. I installed the heater and the so called new parts. I turned on the heater. just to find out that the "new" touch pad does not work. The old touch pad worked better than the "new" one. I tried calling Tom at least 52 times and 30 texts messages later, with no reply from Tom. At least the heater does work. I had to buy a new touch pad and ignitor with nuts needed to install the part. Oh yeah, the rebate! that was also a lie. The unit was already past any warranty or rebate period. After buying the parts I needed to make the heater work as designed, it does work really well now. So, please do not do what I did. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. Buy a new unit from Amazon or a big box pool store. I know its more money. But then you get a brand new unit with a warranty and rebate.

We were looking to install a refurbished pool pump, we got his info from Craig’s list. He came to our home and installed a pool pump and heater. 3 weeks after the installation the pump is broken, and he will not return our calls for his warranty. After looking online we found other customers in the same situation. If you have any information on "Tom” but we found out his real name is Craig Ashmore, we would appreciate it as looking to go to small claims.

I found this sham of a companies name on Craigslist advertising used pool equipment for less. They advertised that it would come with a two year warranty so I purchased a pump at a 3rd of full price. I figured that if I got two years out of the pump I would perfectly fine with that. So I made arrangements for Tom (?) to come by my house and drop off the pump which he did 4 hours after (red flag) our scheduled time making excuses as it got later in the evening as to why he was late. He showed up in a beat up old truck full of pool parts (another red flag) and we settled the sale. He wrote on my receipt that the pump came with a two year warranty and I would be eligible for the state rebate (a lie and flag). The pump ran for two months and siezed. I repeatedly called this guy who went by the name of Tom or TJ (which is not his real name) and he wont return my calls or text messages in a timely manner and now not at all over the course of a weeks time.

Things to watch for that I failed to do:

1) Always be mindful when buying anything from anyone off of Craigslist. There is no recourse when doing so and Craiglist doesn't give a rats behind. If you do online shopping I recommend Amazon! They protect the consumer from scam artist such as this.

2) If you find yourself purchasing from questionable business or person. Take a picture of their drivers license or the license plate of their vehicle. Get as much information as possible.

3) Search their business name or phone number and see if their are any reviews from anyone else that has done business with that person or business prior to making your decision to move forward with the purchase.

4) Always remember, If it looks to good to be true, It probably is !
