This organization is a complete fraud, and it's leader, Karen Sabourin, is a con artist. Many promises were made, and about 3000 coaches and therapists joined this "company" by paying $1000 each to be listed in a directory, where thousands of clients would be provided. Many who joined were PhD or master degree levels of education. Most of us have now left, so they are now recruiting more coaches. Don't join! This is not her first scam, although probably her most successful. She lured so many in with promises of being able to help veterans with PTSD. Now she is doing an online fundraiser, to help the people of the Congo. Just another fraud. Her techniques are dangerous, and she is teaching unqualified and unlicensed people to deliver them. So many coaches and "practice clients" had severely negative reactions, including many in crisis and attempting suicide. We were told to NOT call the suicide helpline for these people, but instead find a member of the "crisis team" on Facebook...Very dangerous and unprofessional! She is being investigated by multiple authorities in the US and other countries, for multiple crimes. You will never know an address or phone number for Karen Sabourin, or her "daughter" Katie Sabourin, because they are criminals and constantly on the move. Nothing about this company is legit, and I hope they are arrested soon do they can no longer target veterans and other vulnerable populations, causing so much harm with their erratic "techniques" (Stolen from others, or completely made up).

I became a "prolympian PTSD coach" in August of 2016. I paid my required $997 (on 08-17-16) to Karen Sanbourin

I will back track for a moment, I am a Master's Degree Counselor/Life Coach. I know for a fact that NO LIFE COACHING requires HIPPA compliance. I have also trained with some of the BEST trauma and crisis and PTSD people in the country (USA). I teach Post Critical Incident Classes and I work as a Critical Incident Stress Debriefer. As I was going through Karen's classes, I began to realize that something was not right here. She required that any client going through her PSTD coaching not use any other outside source of care, to include prayer or meditation. I know, with my training and experience, that removing the spiritual in the healing process for some people is detrimental to their healing process and can actually cause regression in their healing. That said, this was my first red flag.

The next red flag came when she claimed that she needed over 2000 coaches to handle a Governmental Contract to work with 185,000 families in the area of PTSD. Everything she and her daughter wrote, painted the picture as though she was talking seriously with the Department of Veteran Affairs here in the United States, as being a possible vendor of services for the Department. She and her daughter also told coaching staff that she was working with no less than three insurance companies that would use Prolympian as a contract vendor for PTSD care. All of this turned out to be a pipe dream.

She and her daughter MOVED all communications away from more public social media outlets and forbid anyone from posting their displeasure with Prolympian on their Facebook page. You see, coaches began to catch on that this was a scam. So they started their own informational site through Ryver and then a client communications portal through Doxy.me. All the while, the new web site (after three months) was still inoperable. They used Ryver and Doxy because they charged next to nothing to operate the chat rooms and storage areas for "training tools". When we would ask about time lines as far as the new site went, we would get publicaly scolded by admin staff and told not to post "derogatory or disparaging" comments in the public areas of the Ryver site. Red flags number three and four….

After being a "coach" for the company there was no flow of cliental, there were no operating web sites, complaints and resignations from coaches was flowing like water of the Niagara Falls, I decided to resign. I did not want to be associated with a company that used our Military, Veterans, First responders and trauma sufferers as a toll to con those of us who actually care about them and work with them. Additionally, like I stated earlier, our names were to be put on an active directory; well, without an active website, our names were not on ANY directory for the one 12-15 months as agreed upon by contract; which by law, is a BREECH OF CONTRACT.

As a background, I am a Veteran, and a Peace Officer. I work collaterally as a Peer Counselor for Officer involved shootings and critical incidents, I have a B.S in Crisis and Trauma Counseling and an M.A. in Counseling/Life Coaching. To add, I was once a PTSD sufferer, so when I heard about a program that would help those that I was trying to help, I jumped on the opportunity to learn more to help more… Once I resigned from the company, I was cut off IMMEDIATELY from all forms of communication with the company. When I asked for my "guaranteed" refund I was told to basically get in line and that they had one year to refund my monies according to the contract. Yes…. If they abided by the contract to begin with, I could understand their issue, but they violated the contract from the beginning.

Stay away from this company!

Additionally, I have filed a complaint with the FBI in the US at:

Prolympian is a complete scam

I became a "prolympian PTSD coach" in August of 2016. I paid my required $997 (on 08-17-16) to Karen Sanbourin <[email protected] for the courses with the understanding that there is a money back guarantee should Prolympian fail to provide the client base to recoup those funds. Part of your certification process is to recruit "practice clients" once you've completed the training. I will get to the training in a moment. I developed my own "practice clients" as the company does not provide them for you. They only provide actual paying clients (no they don't). Your practice clients must log into the prolympian web site in order to track their progress and give you credit for your work. One catch, in September of 2016, the first web site was taken down under the guise that they needed a new one to handle the client load and comply with HIPPA… yah.. that was and still is a LIE. The money paid to Prolympian, as their website once stated, was not for the training, but to be placed on their directory (more on that later)

I will back track for a moment, I am a Master's Degree Counselor/Life Coach. I know for a fact that NO LIFE COACHING requires HIPPA compliance. Many who joined were PhD or master degree levels of education. Most of us have now left, so they are now recruiting more coaches. In order to recruit, she provides us with an affiliate link with our name attached to it. Once you click on link it takes the client to her sign up page and the link has dropped your name. I did affiliate work in the past and the link should remain the same. It is when my my doubt about the organization were confirmed. Last July she told the coaches that she had a military contract with 185.000 families affedted by PTSD were waiting for the hand technique. She kept telling us that in order to begin the contract we needed 1000 coach to be able to handle the demand. All coached were working very hadr to recruit as we all wanted this to work and we wanted to help for the cause. Then August 1st came, but there was not enough coaches she posponed to September 5th, tehn October, November and we found out that there was no contract. Don't join! This is not her first scam, although probably her most successful. She lured so many in with promises of being able to help veterans with PTSD. New name, same B.S.

Karen has reinvented her scam yet again...under BSW, Brain Stimulated Wellness. I was roped in for about 6 months and all these red flags kepts coming up. I did a little research online and lo and behold, the exact same stories....promises of thousands of clients, big paychecks (millions!) and more. This time the contract was with the "Baltimore County School System". Nothing has ever happened with that. Week after week after week of promises an stories about why it wasn't happening and then she would divert us onto the next big idea. In between we had to attend 5 hour calls. She is a master hypnotist (actual credentials) and she has either hypnotized the handful of people who have hung around with her since 2016 OR she has threatened them and is holding something against them.

$2500 wasted, hundreds of hours of time and NO ONE got helped (or paid!)

RUN!

I was scammed by her in 1996

I was scammed by Karen Sabourin in 1996 of about $15,000. It was my education fund. She is a lifetime criminal and at the time her daughter Katie was in a wheelchair and required special care. I see now she has roped her daughter into the same criminal life of scamming people out of their money by preying on people's good nature.
