Progressive Air Systems, Inc. Reviews

In 2018 we retained Lyons Heritage Tampa, LLC. a Arthur Rutenberg franchisee to build our home in St. Petersburg. They hired Progerssive Air Systems Inc. to be the HVAC sub-contractor. Progresive Air Systems Inc. installed 3 Units and we also agreed to a pre-paid service contract (BIG MISTAKE). One unit had several service calls within the first year. Turns out that one of the issues was a float that opens to drain water from the water-pan was incorrectly installed and caused the water-pan to fill and over-flow. In the end, the float was installed on the high side instead of the low side of the pan. Eventually another A/C contractor correctly diagnosed the problem and provided the needed repair.

Further an exhaust fan that was defective and I reported the issue to the General Contractor multiple times during the first year (The Warranty period). We had no idea at the time that Progressive Air Systems Inc. installed the fan and the General Contractor failed to provide the name of the company repsonsible. Once we learned that Progressive Air Systems Inc. was the company we imediatley contacted them for service. At that time the most rude personal you could ever imagine informed us that our 1 year Warranty had expired and they would replace the fan for a $250 service call. I declined the offer.

We were contacted by Progressive Air Systems Inc. "Service Department" in an attempt to schdule our semi-annual service. I told the gentlemen calling that I had contracted with another company to provide our semi-annual service and I asked that the money they were holding be aplied to the exhaust fan repair. Troy simply stated" Sorry, no refunds on pre-paid service contracts" I explained I wasn't asking for a refund, only that the money I paid should be applied to the exhaust fan repair in all fairness. Again, "no refunds on prepaid service contracts".

In the end, we were left hanging by Progressive Air as well as Lyons Heritage Tampa LLC/ Arthur Rutenberg. I'm quite confident that if there is a response posted it will be a well-reasoned explanation of how they run thier business. In the end this is a buyer beware issue for all that may read this post.

This is a complicated situation so I will try and make it as brief as possible. I had work done from Progressive Air in July of 2018. All seemed well until there was a leak in the garage in September 0f 2018. It all went downhill from there. This was at a rental property and both service calls were overseen by my neighbor who is a retired AC professional. He told me that a piece of pipe had been replaced in July and he had been shown the piece replaced by the technician and was told it had to be replaced because of a clog.

The September technician told the same neighbor that the pipe had not been glued properly causing the problem and that it takes a while for the problem to arise.

Long story short, the company first denied ever replacing any pipe, ( The invoice also did not show it, and I only received that later by e-mail) then they changed their story and said that something had been replaced but it was in a different area of the pipe and they had nothing to do with it. So they are saying that even though they never replaced any pipe, they know that the new problem was not in the same area...Makes no sense at all.

From day one, all I have received is denials from this company. I also made a complaint with the BBB and the lastest response I got from them was that they wanted to send over a supervisor to access the situation, BUT THEN, they immediately in the same correspondence denied any responsibility without ever having sent the supervisor out. They repeat over and over how highly trained their technicians are, but the September technician had to borrow duct tape from the neighbor because he had none on his truck. Highly trained...I think not.

They lately have said ( only said that recently, never mentioned it berfore) that their technicians do not carry pipe on their trucks. What kind of company comes to do a repair without the supplies to do one.

They also accused me of having work done by another company or private individual and trying to blame them. I have had a tenant there for two years and she can attest that no other work was ever done. This made me furious

This company is very shady and unethical. They absolutely refuse to take responsibility for their mistake and I am left with a damaged garage ceiling.

I chose them because they had good reviews. I can only speculate how they got those reviews. After my experience, it is obvious that it is company policy to do anything to avoid admitting a mistake and taking responsibity.
