I just bought a toyota prius 2010 from Prestige Cars of Hollywood and got totally SCAMMED & ROBBED. The listing is here:

I've bought a lot of cars over the years for family and myself and this was by far the WORST Auto buying experience ever. And now I see all the "SCAM ARTIST" warning reports online against Prestige Auto from all their other customers. I'm so mad I didn't research them before I got robbed.
1. I won the vehicle on ebay. It said in their listing that buyers can pay with paypal so buyers will be protected with paypal insurance. I felt safe so I bid and won and paid the deposit with paypal. Then afterwards, Alex from pretige auto told me they're keeping my "non refundable" deposit on the car, but I'm not allowed to pay for the car with paypal. They'll only accept cash, wire transfer or bank checks. So basically they'll accept any form of money they can rob you with, but not accept paypal because that would protect against fraud. That was the 1st red flag.
2. I told Alex that since I'm in Georgia and they're in Florida I wouldn't be able to see the vehicle, so I asked if me friend in florida could take the car to a mechanic to have it checked out. Alex said if they took it too a mechanic that would Void his 72 hour money back guarantee starting as soon as my friend took it into the shop, so essentially, if I had the car shipped to me there would be zero protection by the time the shippers dropped it off. So like an idiot I agreed to Trust Alex and Not have a mechanic in florida check it before I bought it with wire transfer and had it shipped to me, because I trusted they would give me the money back refund or pay to have anything fixed if there was anything wrong or not described in the listing. Alex said the vehicle was 100% perfect with nothing wrong with it and no damage. I noticed in on picture a blurry spot on the leather. When I asked he said there's no damage. So then I asked for more pics. In other pics it revealed the driver's seat leather was all worn and torn up. So I told him if he guarnateed to replace the leather seat I would buy the car and pay him. He agreed, so I wired him the money. This is when everything started to go wrong. After he got my money he said it's too expensive to replace the leather so his guy just put some paint on it and it's fine now! He sent me a new picture that looked good, but now it appears it was another vehicle or a blurry photo that you can't see the damage.
3. I had shipping arrive twice to pick up the vehicle and Alex wouldn't release it despite saying he would, so I had to pay extra. Then Alex finally was available to release the car so shipping came back a third time to get the car.
4. Shipping delivered the vehicle to me in Georgia and the car was completely DEAD and wouldn't operate. Shipping said they tried to jump start the car but it was a bad battery. I had to pay to have my brand new car purchase towed to a mechanic.
5. Pep boys said the battery was bad and had to be replace. Expensive on a hybrid. I told Alex and they said of coarse they'd pay for it. They never did. I paid for it and then Alex changed his mind and said "the listing says SOLD "As-Is" so I'm not paying for it. It's a factory dealer $330 special hybrid battery for this prius that specific and necessary. Alex refused to reimburse me .
6. Upon inspection the car interior was Destroyed. The rear leather seat was torn and the arm rest leather was ripped, filthy interior with scratches and scuffs and stains everywhere, and tons of dents and scratches on the exterior that Alex never told me about. I bought the vehicle for my cousin to drive for Uber, and they refused to approve the vehicle due to all the damage, until I had it all fixed.
7. Alex said "return the car for a refund". But he said they keep the Deposit, the taxes and fees, and the $500 shipping, plus the new battery and the repairs I had to have done since the vehicle arrive damaged and not as listed. So he wanted me to return the vehicle to him and I'd loose like a thousand dollars in missed work time and repairs and shipping and fees!!
8. After buying the car Alex wanted hundreds of dollars more for undisclosed fees as well he claimed were deposit, then changed to taxes, then changed to misc fees owed.
9. Then Alex had the guts to message me threatening that he was going to Negatively Rate me on Ebay if I wrote any negative marks against him, and he says he'll post tons of negative harmful information online about me if I write any negative reviews!
10. After Alex said he would not compensate me for any damages, I told him I'm going to negatively report him, and then he said he'd split the battery with me, but not the towing, repairs, leather, upholstery, or body repairs.
11. Then Alex threatened if I complain again he'll STEAL Back the TITLE and claim it was fraudulently obtained, and he'd reclaim the vehicle in Florida at the title office and make it impossible for me to register the car in Georgia! It was unbelieveable the depth of fraud and threats this company / Alex go to to keep your money! Worst experience Ever!
It's my advice DO NOT BUY From them if you don't want this to happen to you. TERRIBLE Unethical crooks.
