My car has been making an increasingly loud whining noise for the last week or so. My mechanic has diagnosed the issue based on a service bulletin from my manufacturer, hearing the noise, and his general knowledge (this is a KNOWN defect!). The correction is pricey...replacing the oil pump drive chain module, timing chain, timing chain tensioner, slide rail, tensioning rail and guide rail. PWI refuses to approve the claim without a "tear down" to determine the cause. Remember...manufacturer service bulletin!! They won't pay for the disgnostic...that's on my dime. According to my mechanic, I run the risk of blowing up the engine if I continue driving the car, although he said it is probably inevitable anyway. So I haven't been able to drive my car for 3 days, I have to,pay out of pocket

Voided my extended warranty over a 1” x 2” sticker on my windshield. I paid $4177 for a extended warranty that was voided at 2 1/2 years remaining and more than 30,000 miles. My car went into the shop and came out with a $5000 bill and everything that was outlined on the bill was covered according to the contract on the warranty. And adjuster came out to assessed the situation, took pictures of my windshield , Then got in his vehicle and left, several days later I received a letter stating they voided all of my warranty because my vehicle had been used as a taxi or commercial use and this was all determined by a 2 inch sticker on my windshield with four letters LYFT. I don’t see how this can be proof and there was no way to prove that I had not driven for Lyft but its not commercial because you don’t have to register as a commercial vehicle nor have a commercial to uber or left. A taxi is deemed commercial. End of discussion, how can they get away with just voiding my warranty and not refunding my money or making my repairs right now my car is parked in my driveway and I pay $640 on my BMW and I can’t even drive my vehicle. So much for a bad a*s Bmw and my great credit score. I am to the point I am going to let it go back.

Preferred Warranties (PWI) www.warrantys.com in Violation of Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

I have become another victim of Preferred Warranties Inc (PWI) who blatantly refuses to pay for coverage under their agreement, while stealing thousands of dollars from unrepresented citizens with deceptive and unfair trade practices for unjust enrichment.

Because it is economically infeasible for every individual affected by PWI to pursue legal action, I am gathering other victims to join us in a consumer rights class action lawsuit to get our money back. Any other victims please email your case and contact information to: [email protected]

Recently my husband had a major mechanical issue with his HD Fatboy. When he bought the bike less than a year ago the only things he was told that were not covered was brakes, tires, clutch......Normal wear and tear which is completely understandable. However, my husband was riding one afternoon & had just slowed down because the person in front of him was turning. He heard a strange noise so he stopped and immediately inspected the bike. Bolts had sheared off the rear tire causing significant damage to the body & other mechanical components. He did as he was told to do when he bought the bike and contacted Preferred Warranties with his policy number. We had the bike towed to Harley. An adjuster was sent out and they covered NOTHING! This company is a total scam & I will be seeking legal guidance on this matter! This bike has always been maintained properly & only serviced by Harley for oil changes and such. One way or another there will be a resolution to this matter!
