On February 25 car needed transmission repaired found shop was qouted $1349 before vehicle was picked up. After vehicle was there was told transmission would cost $2350. I told the repair shopI could not afford that price was told they could help me get financing for balance so I gave them a $550 deposit. It fell through tried to get car back again, wouldn't give it back they continued for three weeks to get financing. Reported company to BBB finally on March 15 was contacted. I asked to get my vehicle back again was told I could opnly have if I paid them an addtional $400 dollars makin gthe total to get my car back without any repairs to $950.00. I do not have $950.00 to just give away to this company so I feel have no other choice but to let them make the repairs or loose $950.00 dollars. As I speak to these people they contnuosly are telling me they are helping by charging me that price. I am a teacher and a single mom who can not just give that kind of money away. What I just can't understand is why I could not have my car back and how they can qoute one price, get your vehicle then jack the price up $1000. Here it is March 20 and I still do not have my vehicle. I think I should only have to pay the initial price of $1349 and someone needs to look into the business practices of this company.

On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, I noticed that my 2008 Dodge Caravan was moving forward, but after traveling about 50 feet, it stopped moving. However, the van would still move backwards as long as it was placed in reverse. I called my mechanic, Mr. Caven, to go to the parking lot and inspect the vehicle. Mr. Caven informed me that the vehicle needed transmission work. As a result, he will provide me with another mechanic who he had personally dealt with before, Mr. James.

Mr. Caven phoned Mr. James and called me back informing me that the job would cost $1,350.00 (towing included) with a full 365 days warranty. I called Mr. James to receive more information about the job, and to explain to him the situation in details. Mr. James provided me details himself and sent me the following information (Precision Transmission & Auto Repair 44 Rahway Ave, Woodbridge, NJ 07095). While speaking with him in regards to the price, he stated that it would be a small job, which would not exceed $1,350.00, and guaranteed that the job would be completed within a maximum of 3 days. To ensure that the price would not be changed, I asked Mr. James what my cost's would be under a worse case scenario- again, he explained it that it would not cost me anymore than $1,350.00 (towing included) plus oil and filter.

Satisfied, he called the towing truck company to tow the van to the Precision Transmission. I notified Mr. James that the van would be on its way, that the van was movable in reverse, and that because it was a business vehicle, I would need the job to be completed as soon as possible. A few days after arriving at his shop, I called Mr. James on January 31st and February 1st to receive updates about the vehicle, when he told me he'll look at it in a few and never called me back. So, on February 7th when I called him again, he told me to call back after several hours.

After calling him back as promised, he informed me that the charges would be $2,600.00. When I questioned why he changed his word, he started to yell, spoke in foul language and stated he that he has "no time for people like me," then shut the phone in my face. I called him back and explained that I do not trust him anymore and do not want him to touch my vehicle. He stated that I must pay him $500.00 for towing and vehicle inspection expenses, and come tow my f***ing vehicle off his property, again, shutting the phone in my face. Needing this job for business purposes, and losing more money and time, I told him that he could start working on the vehicle and that I would take him to court later. I paid him $500.00 deposit.

On Friday, February 10th, and for the first time, I received a phone call from the shop asking for permission for an additional 6 hours to work on the vehicle because it was not working at all when they received it because of an electrical issue due to a wrong wiring in the vehicle. I stated to the lady that the car was moving in reverse, and running good for the past three prior years to all this. I proceeded to tell her that I felt like I was being ripped off time after time, and this was all a scam to get more money. On Saturday, February 11th, I went to the shop with Mr. Caven to speak with them in person and see what was going on. They kept insisting that the car was not operating and that additional charges will be incurred for the computer. Mr. Caven, my mechanic and witness, explained to them that the van was not in this condition before being towed.

I asked Mr. Moe, the mechanic at the shopwhere Mr. James was, and he stated he did not know who I was talking about. When I asked him how he received my vehicle at his shop, he said his auto-shop friend sometimes gives him business. With none of this adding up, I informed Mr. Moe that this shop is based on scams and fraud, and for this reason, I will sue him for all the damages I have incurred, including rental of a school vehicle ($100/day), and demand the completion of my vehicle at the price I was promised, with the one year warranty. After this, Mr. Moe began to harass Mr. Caven and I, kicking us out and pushing us into the street. I called the police and asked them to make an incident report in order for me to gain this mechanic shop's information and proceed with a claim.

Last contact day on 2/15/17 to Mr. James

car is not ready and he will call me back when it is ready.
