Not a Scam - just be sure to open the 'read agreement' link when you are offered a FREE product from them

After receiving many emails from a Writing site, I finally filled out the form to order a CD with information I felt would be useful. At that same time, I was offered a sign to put on my door to let others know that there was a WRITER AT WORK. It was only 99 cents so I clicked okay. What I did not do was read the agreement link that said that I would be signing up for a monthly deduction giving me access to the skills they offered.

Fast forward to two weeks later and there is a pending withdrawal for $19.93 in my online banking statement. The name "PLATINUM MILL" was on the bank statement page, so I googled that name and came up with the website for Platinum Millenium and called them. The representative that answered was helpful and professional. She explained WHY the money had been withdrawn and agreed to cancel my membership. She also reversed the charge on the pending payment that was showing on my bank statement. All in all it was a good experience. Believe me, I have had some awful run-ins with representatives that were irascible and unkind, and soundly state that this company treated me with respect.

If you have a problem with them, call 919-521-8981 - the contact number of Platinum Millennium.

Thank you!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS INFO!!! I just realized that I am overdrawn due to this company! Without your information, especially listing the phone number, my night would have been ruined with worry! Thank you for being so kind as to watch out for others and giving all the pertinent information :-)

Platinum Millennium Publishing billed my credit card for a product I did not to my knowledge order. I was able to email their support and asked them to undo this charge as I did not authorize it knowingly and to cancel any membership etc that I may possibly have with them. I had never heard of them before this morning and the charge showing up on my card, pending payment, was done today Sept.3, 2015. I believe they are affiliated with Ty Cohen who does Kindle Cashflow. I will also dispute this charge on my credit card through my credit card company if I need to if they do not undo this charge asap.I kept a copy of the emails from them and the one I sent them disputing the charge to my credit card account. From what I have read this is a scam. I hope that others will be warned.

SCAM!

Hey there, are you able to give me the email address to these people. I have just discovered I have been scammed as well for 2 months! Did you get credited as well?

  • Jul 20, 2019

These people offered a writer's toolkit "free" & i paid for shipping. I don't have the toolkit, & they made an unauthorized debit to my checking account for $67! i am on a fixed income & needed that money for a bill! they don't answer their phone - really pathetic.

Platinum Millenium Publishing

I was recently charged a whopping USD67.73 (that converts to a MYR287.00) for something that I didn't purchase, from this company. I did order a Free Tool Kit but I didn't pay for any membership. And I read in their responses that we were given the option to a Yes or No which I think was just a smokescreen to hide their scam. If it is indeed a membership fee, they should've sent us email to confirm our membership and provide us a link to the membership site, for us to login. This is clearly a scam.

They MUST STOP using unethical business tactics to get money from people.

On January 14, 2017, In response to a Facebook add about how to make money writing e-books for Amazon and Kindle, I was directed to a webinar that wasted over two hours of my life purporting to give me everything I need to become a writer and publisher for e-books for Amazon/Kindle. As it happened, after getting an outline of what to do it simply turned out to be a pitch for his "system" that cost approximately one thousand dollars. I declined to take advantage of his "opportunity" and hit cancel before the transaction was complete. I made NO purchase at this time, yet my Paypal account was charged $549.99. I did NOT receive any sort of confirmation email with a transaction ID or amount of the purchase on it. I immediately tried to contact TY Cohen/ Platinum Millenium at [email protected] and was taken to a landing page with Chinese writing on it. When I click on some of the comments, one actually read " Where can I find my VA Hospital?" I tried this over 20 times and was always re-directed to the same BOGUS landing page.

I received No product, No access, No valid transaction receipt and No help!!

I contacted the Office of the NYS attorney general and they were great. They gave me an enumeration of the criteria used to ascertain if a digital media product meets criteria for either fraud or for a refund due. Platinum Millenium/Ty Cohen are scammers - PERIOD. STAY AWAY from this man or anything you see him or Platinum Millenium connected with. The Office of the NYS Ag suggested that I first contact my card and report the transaction - which I did. I called Paypal to report this charge as fraudulent and they at first claimed that they had No details of this transaction with either the bank that issued my card or Paypal itself. I explained the situation and they agreed that there should be no charge to my account. They said that they would contact me within one week with a resolution and that my card had a zero balance. Fast-forward one week.

Today, January 21, 2017, I received an email from Paypal stating that I OWED $549.00 - For What?? I contacted the bank that issued my card once again, and they me that they never received any transaction information from any vendor and yet there is a $549.00 balance. I opened a fraud investigation in regard to this transaction and don't suspect it will lead anywhere as the customer service reps and fraud rep were both evasive and kept changing their obviously scripted information. I will not tolerate anyone STEALING from me and will pursue this as a criminal matter with the NYS attorney general and with the Office of the Attorney general in North Carolina if I don't immediately receive some kind of resolution, i.e complete refund, etc. Support@PlatinumMillenium still redirects me to a non-support page and offers no mechanism for support of any kind. I suspect that they use a Shifting IP address that brings you to a different site each time. I expect no less than a full refund and an appology.

I was interested in writing for Kindle readers and came upon Ty Cohen's course. It the beginning, he offers a CD for $0.99 and, in June, it was on my bill. I never received the CD. The next month, there was a charge to my credit card for $67.73 and I never signed up for the class and never authorized the payment. This is a SCAM! That is all that there is to it. He used the authorized purchase for the $0.99 and then applied it later, which is definitely against the practices of companies using debit card information. This is outright theft!

So, I will have to kill my debit card this coming Sept 2 in order to assure that he will not debit my card again.

I have called the company many times and they NEVER answer their phone!

Also, I have emailed to the company and they never respond directly to the message that they have taken money from my account, only sending me email asking me again and again if I am or am not satistfied.

When I wrote directly to Ty Cohen, the email was rejected!

So, stay away from this guy!

I bought Kindle Cash Flow on DEc. 26, 20216 for 997 w PayPal credit as I felt PayPal would protect me. I began disputing thru PayPal and Ty Jan. 4th and have been consistenly denied.

I am 67 and disabled and a writer. As Soon as I looked at the internet content I received I immediately realized it was all goods pasted from the web, some even free and some I would have to pay more for; all were useless and the recommendation that porn was a good market really offended me.

As I am a writer, all I needed was help making a Kindle. I now how a very good product for 97 dollars and am working with a reputable publisher.

I also recently subscribed to Writer's Life and found it to be his. I let the 39 paid go. I did purchase an article on blogging for 17 dollars and opening that found it totally lacking and immediately asked for a refund. They claim they have but I have not received any notice from my cc company.

This guy and all his products prey on ignorant people and take advantage of naive women and probably others like me. PayPal was useless and after months of trying, they denied, using multiple vague reasons. NO PROTECTION.

Ty Cohen and his multiple identities need shut down. He is now advertisubg a "meeting" and advising clients to lawyer up as the FTC is cracking down but that the compliance is "easy."

TY Cohen is a breeding ground for poor service, products and teaching people how to dis-inform and cheat.

I have written the FTC. Will see what comes of that.

My warning is IF you think writing is a great business (or any other of his scams) and you will get rich, know if you deal with this man, you will probably fail and be taken advantage of as well as contributing to the horrid trend of dis-information.

I am glad I found your site. I wish I had been wise enough on Dec. 6 when I let the high ogf the holidays make me very susceptible. I HAD the money but instead when PayPal offered me instant credit, I choose them as I felt it would be protection as it has been in the past. Do NOT trust PayPal credit nor Ty Cohen. There are a great many ethical resources available.

BTW I am still getting responses from "adam" in "support absolutely denying a refund and saying I did not respond to their offer of half back. I did respond months later to Ty who said he would think about it. I never heard back.

So as usual the victim gets blamed. I hope this helps someone.

I purchased a Platinum Millenium product to learn how to sell eBooks. I was billed twice by Ty Cohen - once through Paypal and once through a mastercard - and then never sent the product. When I realized it, several months later when I was reviewing my credit cards and found the duplicate bill - I called. They sent the product they charged me $1100 for TWICE and it had nothing of value to me -- it was all information I either knew or didn't need EXCEPT the key piece -- how to convert files into eBook compatible ones.

I tried contacting the support desk. I asked for my guaranteed money back -- it was less than a week after I'd received the product. I was refused.

I asked for a refund for one of the duplicate charges -- we're talking $1100 here -- and was refused.

I contacted the BBB in NC where he claimed to be and found there were so many complaints, but not only in NC, also in CT and NY, that they had them centralized in CT -- but they couldn't find a physical address to track him down.

He's a scam artist. It's too bad he has sickle cell anemia, just goes to show that people with genetic diseases who learn to be manipulative are that much more dangerous.

I contacted an attorney who filed a proper complaint letter -- and had no place but the internet to send it b/c of the false addresses -- the PO Box in Garner, NC will get you no where fast

We're pursuing it with the FCC but it is a slow process

Don't be fooled like I was.

Ty Cohen is a crook. He stole over $2200 from me.

This company, Platinum Millenial Publishing, publicizes items for Writers on the internet. I went to the site to check it out, but I NEVER gave any authorization to debit my account, did not ask for any kind of membership, and did not buy anything.

My account was debited $10.44 on the 12/27/16. I want my money back! I better not be charged again for some kind of membership either.

There has been numerous negative complaints and reports against this scamming company. Why are they allowed to stay in business???

In response to a Facebook add about how to make money writing e-books for Amazon and Kindle,I was directed to a webinar that wasted over two hours of my life purporting to give me everything I need to become a writer and publisher for e-books for Amazon/Kindle. As it happened, after getting an outline of what to do it simply turned out to be a pitch for his "system" that cost approximately one thousand dollars. I declined to take advantage of his "opportunity" and at the same time had been getting withdrawals from a company I didn't recognize for small increments of money from our checking account. Thinking at the time it may have been my mistake, I made ZERO purchases for a time (as I was broke except for the rent money anyway) when a purchase appeared for approximately twenty dollars that I KNOW was not authorized. This put me in a bad spot AS MY RENT CHECKS WERE NOW NOT COVERED. I was able to borrow the money to keep them from bouncing and canceled my debit card (a terrible inconvenience). These charges were all from a company called Platinum Millenium which was listed in my internet search in connection with Ty Cohen. Mr Cohen is about as much of a humanitarian as Carlton Sheets, Tom Vu, or anyone else that plays on people's desire to improve their income or upon a person's fears in some way. STAY AWAY from this man or anything you see him or Platinum Millenium connected with.

I purchase a cd from this company and then a separate charge was placed on my charge card for something I did not order. I have no way of knowing how to contact this company to have the charge reversed although I am going to contact my bank and report the transaction.
