Pear-e-Whites Free Trial Scam (And Discount Magazine Scam)

Do not sign up for Pearl-e-Whites free trial it is a scam. First off the free trial is not a free trial. If you try to cancel your free trial they will bill you for the free tooth whitner they have sent (20 something dollars I believe), even though this is not in any of their documents. If you do not cancel you will start getting billed 100 a month.

Anyway, after I canceled I started getting a teen vouge magazine with my name on it a few months after. I couldn't figure out why because I had never ordered any magazines. Then yesterday I get a call from a representive from Discount Magazine who told me that they are giving me a special promotion and they were going to stop billing me for the cost of the magazine and just bill me for shipping and handling. I told them that I never signed up to get any magazines, and they said that I had when I signed up for the Pearl-e-Whites trial, whcih was a blatant lie. Furthermore they were going to "only" charge me $.85 a day to keep recieving my magazine. I told them I wanted to cancel, but they said they couldn't because I had entered into a 60 month contract. I told them I was going to block them from charging my card and they said they had already paid the publishers for the magazine for the 60 months and threatened to report my non payment to the credit agencies.

At this point they scam people by getting them to say they want the promotion because it's going to be cheaper than what they are paying before. I told them I did not authourize any charges on my card that they had on file from when I ordered Pearl-e-whites. I could not find where they had billed my card or any contact info online, so I called Pearl-e-whites. They confirmed they had worked with the company to send me the magazines, acknowledged that I never signed any 60 month agreement, and told me they would take me off their call list. The way they scam most people is they think they are being charged, so for the time being they enter into the promotion that's cheaper and end up actually verbally agreeing to the contract that was never in place.

Stay away from these people. I don't know how you could work for a place like this and sleep at night.

Pearl-e- Whites

I saw a video about how amazing the product was so I went to the page and I ordered it. I got it and I hated it, I forgot to cancel it before the trial period ended and they charged me 119 dollars. I thought it was going to end there but I got a call today about a magazine subscription, I remember seeing it on the tooth whitening page and I got the magazine's because I was thinking if I don't want them I'll just cancel later on. However when I answered and they told me what it was about they told me I couldn't cancel, they said I had to wait out the 60 months. I asked why I couldn't cancel and they were very vague, they just kept saying that they'd do their best to make it cheaper for me, so I was like okay whatever. In mind I just thought I'll call tomorrow and see exactly why I can't cancel. The guy said he would send me an email with the information and I could just call him later, that was early this morning. When I didn't get an email I was like whatever, that's when I realized that they tried to charge me over 100 dollars, my bank sent me an email with this information and asked if it was me doing this. They charged several different times varying amount which is why my card was rejected. I wasn't informed they were going to try to charge my card, they didn't tell me. If I can get a hold of their number they can be assured it won't be to order more magazines, it'll be to make sure they know I'm not planning on paying what they want me to! I was NEVER informed that I would have to keep paying for those magazines for 60 months!!! It's all a scam, don't order anything from those companies!!!

I was reading an article on Beliefnet and it was on pearl-e-whites about how it was great and have your teeth white as can be. Pearl-E-Whites said it was a free trail and I only had to pay $4.99 for shipping and handling but I did not read where it said they would charge me if I didn't send back the product in 14 days.

I read if I wasn't satified within the 14 days to send back, still thinking it was free So then I noticed on my bank statement they had charged me $119.38. So I called them for this reason to make sure and cancel as soon as possible for the automatic monthly withdrawal.

The woman I talked to spoke very fast and was recording me and tried to have me keep the monthly withdrawal and I said no I didn't want to buy products from a dishonest company and their dishonest policies. So she was a little huffy but I told her if she didnot do as I asked I would report her and the company, I was stern and firm. She give me a confirmation number and told me they would canceled my order immediately.

Hey had a free trial offer with 14 days to try it. I called to cancel before I was charged for the monthly shipment. After waiting fifteen minutes waiting on phone someone answered. I said cancel. Offered me a discount, no cancel. Said I would still have to pay$14.95. No. She put me on hold. Came back and okay you are cancelled. Get a confirmation number if this happens to you.

Saw an ad/article about Pearl-E-Whites –about how it was great, and a combination of two of their products will have your teeth white as can be. I have never done any sort of teeth whitening treatment before, but it was only about 3 dollars for a trial, and as long as you cancelled your subscription within 14 days of receiving the product, you wouldn’t be charged. However, if you didn’t cancel within that time period you would be $87.68. For this reason I made sure to call and cancel as soon as I received the product.

Below is a screen shot of their “terms & Conditions.”

Anyhow, I called them and they told that I can cancel my subscription, but I would have to send the product back because they sent me a 30-day supply. Keep in mind I signed up for a TRIAL! They then told me that they needed to charge my account $25 unless I send the product back. I argued with them and said “why do I have to send it back? I was supposed to receive a trial, it isn’t my fault that they sent me a 30-day supply!” the women finally agreed that she would only charge me $10. I still felt this was preposterous considering it was a FREE trial minus shipping & Handling costs (which I paid).

I argued with the girl and told her that is ridiculous, that I refuse to pay anything more than what I was already charged. I told her that if they charged my card again I would call up the credit card company and dispute the charges. Finally she told me they wouldn’t charge me anything as long as the product was unused and sent back. So I said fine but I want a refund on my $3 that I paid for S&H. I know it’s only $3, and its not that I really care about $3, its just the fact of the matter. I felt I basically took three dollars and threw it in the garbage! This is how they make money, they trick you and are unclear about their policies.

Whatever you do, DO NOT order pearl-e-whites. I created this blog intentionally to warn others about this scam. I want to be sure that no one else falls for this stupid thing. I can’t tell you whether or not the product works because I sent it back so that I wouldn’t be charge. Then, this week they called me twice. I was at work and didnt answer. I didn’t recognize the number so I called back after work. They picked up the phone but didn’t even bother to say the company name. When I asked what their company name was they gave me a vague unhelpful answer.

DON’T LET YOURSELF GET SCAMMED! DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT!!!
