On 1/29/18 I brought in about 25 items to try and sell at Pat's Second Chance Consignment shop and it was the first and most likely last time I ever do this again. I happened to need extra money so I found some items I figured I didn't need anymore although all my items cost me a good amount of money when bought new so I wish I had a better way to sell my stuff. Unfortunately I don't so I chose this way. I dropped off my items on 1/29 and the owner wasn't there a lady who told me it was her first day back working again after not being there for a few years and she didn't seem to remember much of what she was supposed to be doing so I was not to happy about that.
I told her I wanted to be able to get my stuff back if they don't sell and I don't even remember if she said anything or not but actually when I first called to make my appointment I told them on the phone the same thing and the lady told me that's fine to just discuss that at my appointment and I will be able to. So when I dropped off my items the woman gave me a paper to sign so I signed it and left. I got home and read it and it said you can't take your clothes back but you can take back your other items which actually that's the only items of mine they priced HIGH and she also did NOT put them out the first month of me having my stuff there she waited and I know why they did that so they wouldn't sell at the high prices in a month so they would get to keep the items and keep all the money for themselves!!
That's if I even chose to keep my items there the full 2 months because that's how long she allows you to sell your items for. And after the first month what doesn't sell gets discounted but that's if you decide to keep your stuff there longer but she charges you 50 cents per item to take your stuff back and you also have to go searching for the items in the store yourself!! BUT my real problem that made me mad to begin with was I brought in 3 memory foam pillows and 2 of them where pretty much brand new and never used and they sold right away well I went online after I brought them in and saw that they were selling for $50-$60 new and she sold them for $5 each so I got $5 for the both of them!!
Also I brought in a practically brand new never used oversized black handbag that I bought at Macy's in New York that was $45 and I found out she had the nerve to tell me she sold that for $3.50!! I was like WHAT?! But I was actually nice about it when I found out because I was in shock!! I only got $1.70 for that bag...I could NOT believe it. And all they said was SORRY....yeah okay and my Mom pointed out to me that they probably sold it for way more than that but just told me they sold it for absolutely nothing and lied and decided to keep the money for themselves and those were the 3 most expensive items I brought in. And the owner who I guess her name is Pat blamed my things being under priced on the new lady!! But why the heck is she letting a woman who hasn't been working back in the store for years price the items to sell anyway?

But I was not about to leave anymore of my things there or bring anything there in the future so I cancelled my upcoming appointment for next month and they were not too happy about that but oh well. So I went to pick up my stuff and the owner was there and she tried to get me to pay her to take back my stuff and I was not about to do that after she ripped me off and she was also trying to tell me I couldn't take my stuff back!! She said did you read the paper you signed and I said yes...and she said well you aren't supposed to get your items back and I said well when I made the appointment I told the person on the phone that I wanted my stuff back and she said well we obviously are not happy with each other so just get your stuff and go and actually I read the paper when I got home and it didn't say you can't get your things back...it says you must get them back after a month only but after that then you can't so she lied!!
It was exactly a month that I was asking for my things so she was just trying to keep all my stuff to sell and keep the money for herself because she was trying to railroad me but I don't think so she did enough of that crap. But I was putting my stuff in my car and the owner came outside and went into her car and I noticed it was an expensive SUV of course... probably because she is stealing money from her customers!! So please don't shop there or bring any items to sell there because they will do the same thing to you too or to someone else in the future I'm sure. But I am just doing this to let everyone who searches the store name will know what happened to me.
